  1. huntrgathrr and rcmcjacket - I think you both have good points [though huntrgathrr, you forgot to add that the honorable Judge Berman turned up a few days after the verdict at a Billionaire party in the hamptons to have a conversation with Kraft (and Mara and a few senators and representatives) for a "few minutes" per Kraft]. i don't necessicarily think that your viewpoints are mutually exclusive. I think Goodell, Brady, and Bellichick are well established liars, so I don't have to believe any of them. In that case I follow the money, and the profit/money says to me that everyone is protecting the NFL and minimizing the damage, and that is for the Patriots to pay a total fine of $250K and a 4th round pick MORE than the total punishments from Spygate + metaphorical punishment for Bellichick and NE looses its quality secondary, and things are ended there, all the rest is for show/WWE plot lines. PS: last night was due to the Steelers just unraveling under Tomlin because they were solved by John and the Ravens, starting with them firing Ariens, (look how he is doing) now firing LeBeau (lets see if he turns the Titans around). Last night just showed that the Steelers were inept. I'm sure the communications issues were real, and they only had a 1% effect, but it was what was needed to destroy the Steelers coaching (Tomlin = Barry Switzer, new D-coordinator/young D, Hailey = AM agner radio show host). It was a comedy show, first drive they were marching and they decided to have one of the best recievers in the game [ask Steve Smith Sr. before you get mad at me] throw a pass? And he has all day then takes a sack? Keystone cops. At least Dupree leveled Brady once, but even then he didn't decleat him like a Raven would have.
  2. Three positives from last night. 1. Steelers lost (one of our cheif rivals was going to loose, only bad thing would have been a tie). 2. Patriots fumbled (fumbling stats will revert to the norm this year without those soft balls). 3. Patriots were exposed on O & D for those paying attention, but outwardly appeared strong. They can now be faded next week at the Bills. Bonus: I think the one and maybe only thing that Steelers and Ravens fans can agree on/have in common, at least the [insert S or R team name] aren't the Patriots.
  3. Except you? This was an excellent post with some [unintended?] humor at the end.
  4. Now, per PFT, the NFL is allegedly investigating the Steelers TE coach for allegedly assaulting and verbally accosting a Patriots fan at half time! This WWE-NFL is just outrageous now. How did he get on the same plane as a fan to kick him in the leg? Unreal. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/11/report-nfl-investigating-steelers-assistant-in-assault-of-patriots-fan/
  5. I'm sure Belichick said it doesn't say anything in the rulebook about literally assaulting and battering a referee "after" the game is over. Like he did at the end of one of the games where we beat him. He only got a $50K fine, no big deal for him. He also was whining in his post game press conference after the Broncos beat him in 2013, when Welker picked Talib in a dirty play he taught Welker how to perform. Sure it was just a "grounding issue" that caused the flagship station for the Patriots to play over the opposing teams headsets. NFL problem not Patriots. Because if it were the Patriots again, that would look bad for the NFL.
  6. Never thought I would fell sorry for the Steelers, and I don't, but at some point someone needs to disinfect that lying, cheating franchise from the owner all the way down to corrupt low level employees. Sure the league provided the headsets, but the team provides the power, installation, infrastructure, etc.... That worked out so well with the league with the "referee's locker room attendant" who is supposed to be neutral. Does everyone realize Bellichick, known for "Cutting corners" meaning sports cheating, literally cut a corner hours before each point in deflategate where he could have been implicated or punished. The morning the Wells report was released he cut Denard, the morning the team fines were announced he cut Arrington, and hours before Kraft accepted the punishment he cut that JAG (just a guy) corner. These were metaphorical punishments to him and his team to keep them out of the headlines. He cut them at a time when his team was depleted in the secondary. Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, three times is enemy action. Does anyone really believe that Brady got off on a technicality because NFL administration and lawyers were "just stupid"? Public relations 101 if you are guilty, it is better to be perceived by the public as stupid than corrupt or evil.
  7. That would be amazing!!! But instead of "crash", I think you meant to say "air burst over the stadium" like the Tunguska event. That or lightning strike a few choice players, coaches and the owner's box. I will settle for Patriots fumbling and turnover stats to revert back to the norm this year.
  8. UDFA on the roster 11 years running!
  9. "Jah! I'm now a Chief!"
  10. Hensley predicted about 10 min ago that they would directly sign Magee. That would make 11 straight years of placing an UDFA onto our roster.
  11. Wonder why we didn't go after Terence West. The Titans got him for a conditional 7th. Weird, the Browns swooped in and scooped him from us and we could have traded for him...
  12. Great job Bryn!
  13. Denver waivd gGino Gradkowski! Holy smokes! Didn't Ozzie trade him anda fifth for a fourth?
  14. Wayne and Nicks are done according to knowledgeablebbeat writers. Gray is intriguing and wasaa previous Ravens camp guy, but the 200 yard game may be a fluke any RB could have accomplished. Ford I don't know. Maybe Ozzie will work something out with Detroit because they have an overabundance of high quality running backs. At least that is my hot take theory. Friendly relations there.
  15. Thanks reed20fence! The steelers trolls are just pests the Patriots trolls are horrible, but usually their usernames or comments are so terrible they get kicked and banned immediately.
  16. Asa just got picked up by the Giants. Makes sense with our guy being D - coordinator.
  17. I'm not second guessing Ozzie and John. I am however superstitious and wonder if Jacoby's odd screw ups were due to trying to hard because he was around Gary again and was trying to do to much to "please Dad" so to speak. I hope that we aren't thinking half way through that our self inflicted wound this year (last year not renewing the corner who went to the Bills, and the year before trading Boldin) that it was cutting Jacoby. I would rather be pondering if we should have gone for Dorsett or Diggs, but I'm glad Ozzie got Perriman and will only second guess that decision after he gets 2-3 years under his belt, same with Maxx. I applaud Ozzie for going offense with high picks breaking a defense first seeming preference. Of course Davis looks like a first or second round pick so the wizard strikes again. Guess I'm just venting but in the end I trust Steve Ozzie and John they have been magic for the past 7 years, I see no reason that will change anytime soon.
  18. Eisenberg - I said it yesterday in another thread and in response to the original article here that related the history. I think you need to highlight that this is the 11th straight year that the Ravens have placed an UDFA on a starting roster. That has to be a huge draw for UDFAs to come to Baltimore. I am an everyday Ravens hat wearing fan who reads enough to know that it is special to play for the Ravens and that is from countless players commenting on it and how they let you be yourself. But the average guy and agent may only have the data that show the Ravens have a great track record of placing UDFAs on a roster. So they have a better chance with the Ravens than an other team, plus they have Joe (and this year SSS). Maybe do a check on this history an see if we placed any one on other rosters the past few years. Maybe Carter or Butler will be picked up. It would be a great follow up article to the one from the other day that pointed out the history in the first place suggesting that we might put an UDFA on our own roster. We didn't with Butler or Magee, at least not yet.... Maybe it will be 11 years placing one on our own by opening night. Thanks for all the nice articles, can't wait for your next.
  19. 10 more to go
  20. Ravens continue to place at least one UDFA on a team each year, just Easton won't be on our team.
  21. I disagree crusader.
  22. I bet that weasel Chip Kelly who Wouldn't kick to our players to help us sort them out, who ran short practices to make his team look better in a preseason game, who needed weeks of remedial training to know when his QB could be hit will steal Renner from us.
  23. Was Butler a late round pick or UDFA?
  24. Unless Waller did something terrible (and he didn't, he looks great and the raw edges he has, while still present, are rapidly being sanded away) he was unlikely to be cut since he was a sixth rounder and the Ravens tend not to give up on them the first year. I hope that he makes it (don't want to jinx anything) I really like Waller. Those good genes from Fats must run in the family. (Fats wasn't his nickname because he was fat, he was a large man just not fat, he got it from another legendary musician named Fats because he was similar in talent). If you look at old videos of Fats and then pics of Darren you can see him in his facial bone structure. Man now I'm going to have to go listen to the Viper song! Yea Darren!
