  1. This Is the exact thing Joe told Kubiak last year at the end right before they started kicking into gear and tearing it up. If he gets through to Trestman about this and they do start using Givens some more (and his comments suggest he is starting to understand that Joe will trust him if he is where he is supposed to be when he is supposed to be there). I think this is a good thing. Let's just see what happens Sunday. My only concern is that everyone seems to be picking us to win.
  2. Just Partriots wonks, but since he is so obviously a Patriots paid propagandist, go figure....
  3. So Dean, you are telling us Jimmy is just freelancing by playing so far off the line? You are not telling them to play off the line? If he is freelancing like that why don't you just tell him to play on the line? If he is not freelancing, why are you calling him out for doing what he is told? I think you are trying to have it both ways.
  4. Remember he is literally a stand up comedian. thefixisin.net/nfl2015 The refs are paid employees of the league, the NFL your ticket does not entitle you to a fair sporting contest, only an entertainment game. As such the NFL can tell the refs to do whatever they want, the refs must do it and it is legal. Remember a billion dollar enterprise will not leave profit to chance. Look up the court case from when the Jet fan sued the league and Patriots after spygate.
  5. Do you have a link to a clip, I didn't TiVo it. OK I can see part of it on the Vine from Sara's article. Joe did say that he didn't want to throw it short and commented on Kamar in his post game.
  6. Remember when Chis Carter said that everyone needs to get themselves a fall guy? I think this year, the Ravens are the NFL's fall guy.
  7. Someone said Flacco can't throw to the left, so defenders are swarming the right side of the field. but I think it is that Steve Smith Sr is mostly running on the right. He has thrown bombs in the left. Just this season no one decent runs the left so who can he throw to there?
  8. Steve Smith Sr and Dumerville rumors were started by Florio.
  9. Florio is a rumor monger and is a paid NBC employee. Kraft runs all the TV contracts and owns Florio by extension. It is no wonder his site is filled with hit pieces on the Ravens and puff pieces on the Patriots. Part of the Patriots media cancer.
  10. 7 weeks in; 13,123 penalty yards so far this season (nflpenalties.com). In a game of inches, do you think this has an effect on games?
  11. They said, Thanks Refs for making up for the one you stole from us last week vs. the Steelers.
  12. The NFL does not put on athletic sporting contests, they put on an entertainment game (legally defined post spygate). NFL referees are legally considered employees of the league. As such the league can tell them to do whatever the league wants, including giving calls to specific teams and not for others, or calling fouls on certain teams and not others. That is legally considered fine and fair. Anyone who doubts this should look up the court case where the Jets fan sued the Patriots and NFL for spygate.
  13. Still the ref who stared directly at Urshel calling his eligibility and looking around clueless should be drug tested, financially investigated, and at the minimum be relegated for incompetence. Footballzebras and Dean Blandino both couldn't even figure that the level of stupidity and the TV broadcasters did all but say he should be examined for a concussion.
  14. 1. The Ravens played well last night in the loss. 2. I'm beginning to think the refs union has a thing for our team. 3. Flacco is getting more comfortable with Givens 4. Injuries keep killing us, it's lucky Flacco is not dead 5. People criticizing Harbs don't know what they are taking about, his game end conference was a ton better than last week and the team played very tough last night especially for the situation.
  15. At least we didn't have to fire our OC and replace him with a drunk burglar named Jim Bob Cooter. That would be funny if it were not true, and sad.
  16. I'm with everyone that is thinking we upset the Cardinals tonight. Sami, I also think you were on the money when you said, let Joe go no huddle/unscripted for the first 10 plays instead of what we have been doing.
  17. One change into the future, please, please, please someone just mention to the coaching staff to take a gamble on the guys at rosterwatch.com evaluating wide receiver talent for them. Yes they are a fantasy football site, but they are the only ones that actually do their own scouting and go to the senior bowl themselves. Like the ravens they are their own scouting service, they do it themselves. They run their own unique metrics and rely on their own eyes. They pick up on excellent guys every single year. They are a longshot, but with wide receivers, I think the Ravens could use a diamond in the rough. That is the change I would make into the future. If someone with access to senior management reads this, it couldn't hurt to just mention it to one of the top brass, you never know. With this post, I've done what I can, just someone in the organization, please pass it along. That is my wish.
  18. One change, everyone picking us to win. The Ravens do their best work with everyone (or at least the strong, if not overwhelming majority) thinking we won't win. When everyone bets against us, and its us against the world, backs against the wall, that is when we do our best. I think that has happened, and I know its crazy, but I think we will go an win in a shootout in the desert with a close score at the end. If everyone would just get pissed off enough to quit blaming everyone, and I know I've been guilty, and focus on the fact Steve Smith Sr. deserves a ring, and that will only happen with us, we can leave that desert red with Cardinal stained tears. Who's with me?
  19. This is good news!
  20. Am I the only one thinking, FINALLY!!!. Everyone is picking against us, now we will start winning again. Last week in FF I said I thought that Steve Smith would play since it was so ramped up that he was unlikely to, even he said that. He would never say that, so I thought he would play being contraian. This might be the week they turn it around. Finally.
  21. It is not the quantity of injured players, it is the quantity of injured starters and playmakers. Add to that RR being exiled (factor because of the cap dead money who would otherwise be playing, and this excludes Nagta because he was traded) and it adds up to overwhelming losses.
  22. Diggs would have been (or better) to Perriman like Jacoby Jones was to Torry. The problem was only one reciever with top end speed after letting two go.
  23. Either Pees is a great coach, making due with a terrible allotment of players, he is making the players look good with what he has. OR Pees is not a great coach and they have good players, but the defense is failing due to his running it. Seems like one or the other. Alternatively everyone could be mediocre and just not working out. This last one seems unlikely to me.
  24. Flacco is pressing because of lack of open targets, AND the defense seeming to always surrender leads, this leads to interceptions and mistakes. Its like they are caught up in the football equivalent of (Congestive) Heart Failure. There is no escape from Starling's law of the heart, except, maybe the Batista procedure, but it is pretty extreme measures to cut off a large part of the living beating heart and sew it back up and put it back in.
  25. On Belichick, if he wanted him so bad why didn't they take him from the Tampa Bay practice squad like we did last year? Could have had him at any time. Remember that article last year or training camp this year where Pees admitted that he stunted Elam's growth by making him play out of position? I'm remembering that right now.
