  1. I'm also wondering what kind of leagues they play in, the scoring is a little weird even for 0.5 PPR. Was is something like: "Hey Zack I need an article on fantasy football on reasons to watch the Ravens games, help me out Bro. - Ryan" Crockett and Chris were pick ups from last week....
  2. I'm wondering if Givens knows the routes
  3. What risk, risk is zero. Heck the NFL lawyer even argued in the court that fans would still pay to see game even if they knew the Patriots were cheating (and he was right). People still pay to see WWE all the time. Plotlines that are hard to overlook 1. Patriots (with constant loosing seasons) win out of the blue over dominant Raiders right after 911 2. Saints (with constant loosing seasons) win after Katrina Millions of dollars are worth their time, let alone billions. Plus the NFL is getting a lot of money from the governement (and the millitary), so that satalite thing might have legs (LOL).
  4. This case said game only, not sporting contest. The only two relevant laws to fixing games are 1. "Quiz show law" - which prevents fixing of intelectual games, not physical, so not sports. 2. 1964 anti-bribery law for sports - no one has ever been convicted of bribery, ever under this law AND it is not bribery if a company instructus its employee (ref) to do something, so fixing by the league itself if it tells its refs to do it is not illegal. If they want closer matches to increase profits, they can do it and it is not illegal in any way. So you can disagree with me that NFL = WWE with plotlines, but there is nothing, nothing stopping them from doing it and since they are a multibillion dollar buisness, they 1. Will not leave profit to chance and 2. They will be pushing to increase profits constantly. If the games are kept close to the end in all games, then unless your franchise strategy is to blow out the opponent in the first half of ever game, then it could be rationalized as a smart buisness move to increase TV advertising profits. So disagree if you want, but the facts support my case that it is possible and with all the close games this year, I say probable if not exactly what is going on. I haven't even gotten into owners having stakes in daily fantasy yet, when the NFL rules prohibit owners from associating with gamblers. if you have not watched it yet, watch th 1983 PBS special on the unauthorized history of the NFL which was aird once and never again, you can find it easily on your favoroite internet video site. It should shock you and is well worth the 45 minutes of your time.
  5. Some people did suggest this, but I don't know about on the boards. Announcers and Harbs for sure, there was so much confusion that it kind of got lost in the peanalty and delay of game thoughts.
  6. The reason why games are close is the NFL wants them to be close so more people watch to the very end = increased advertising revenues. Refs are told to call games so they are closer to the end if possible, and this is totally legal because the courts have rules that the NFL = entertainment and NOT a true sporting contest. Refs = paid employees of the league and they can tell them to do whatever they want. Not fair, but true look up the court case where the Jets fan sued the league and the Patriots after spygate for fixing games. Ticket = opportunity to see an entertainment game, not sporting contest. From that moment on, NFL = WWE.
  7. Reason for no reversal of the game = Vegas Baby! Vegas!
  8. You don't know that the throw was under thrown just like I don't know if Givens ran the wrong route. The difference is I admit it but you just want to blast hate. It would be a stronger statement from someone who doesn't wear a bag on their head. What were happened, were you burned by acid?
  9. Yeah because Aiken fumbled because he was hit helmet to helmet in a defenseless position but it wasn't called. The other throw looked like a designed comeback or back shoulder throw that Givens didn't run the right route. Joe is throwing to a spot before Givens is even near the area and doesn't miss short too often.... So it might be Joe and might not. The fumble was on him, line and all, still on Joe.
  10. They won't change it because of Vegas, the real power behind the NFL throne.
  11. In other words. NFL says Ravens actually won yesterday but despite the fixable error they won't fix the mistake.
  12. So since it was literally the last play with no time left, the NFL can correct the mistake and give the Ravens the win. Do it.
  13. Negative as a punt returner. He had positive yardage as a kickoff returner, but it was not nearly good enough to keep him.
  14. This needs to be brought up more. When people say Flacco isn't good, if he was like Brady he would make his recievers better. Well look what happened to Brady yesterday when he lost Eddleman, got much worse and he still had Gronk and Amendola. Flacco has Aiken who Brady couldn't elevate in 2 years, and he is WR#1 at the top of the Ravens depth chart. He has no Gronk, no Amednola, no one. His TE#1 is a sophomore player, first year starter, his TE2 and TE3 are rookies. Pats O-Line is crumbling like ours, Pats D similar. So I would say Flacco is doing quite well and why I'm nearly screaming for the answer to this: Was the int throw to Givens a designed Back shoulder thow that Givens missed or was it Joe underthrowing Givens? Joe usually does not leave the ball short, if anything it is usually high and long. He did appear to underthorw Givens (two?) games ago, and now I wonder if that was meant to be a comeback ball. Givens was traded out of St. Louis for a reason, was it route running? I'm all for the guy, and hope he does well, but I want to know what the deal is. I just keep remembering Boldin and TJ Whosoutatheleagenow both dropping game winners in the endzone in Pitt, and Lee Evans dropping the winner in NE both in the playoffs. Even Mace running routes the wrong way and Flacco getting intercepted because of it and he still would not throw his receivers under the bus. Half of me wonders if the Sun article on Flacco not throwing anyone under the bus last week was a shot at Gary when in response Peyton threw Gary, Dennison (OC), his reciever, and his line under the bus on an interception all before taking just the loosest blame himself. I wonder what Gary is thinking now in Denver. Pox on Elway.
  15. I want to know on the deep ball to Givens if it was supposed to be a backshoulder throw and Givens missed it, or it Joe didn't lead Givens into the endzone and threw it short. Joe usually does not throw it short and he does not call out his receivers publicly.... If you are reading this and can ask about it, I want to know. The other int was due to a helmet to helmet hit to the head, not a great throw but the int should have been reversed.
  16. I wondered that when the hit was made, and when Hill drew the flag. The officials screwed up a bunch of calls this game, but it was consistently inconsistent, some were for us, others against us, I don't have an issue with ref bias in this game.
  17. Trestman is lost. I didn't mind the pass heavy or even exclusive pass strategy this game since Jacksonville has a terrible secondary and strong run defense, you can win that way, the Patriots do it, not a problem. What is the problem is he is not using the weapons that work, run 2 and 3 tight end sets on a regular basis they are strong for us. Then adapt to the game playing out, but he seems to slow it down when speed is working and speeds it up when slower is appropriate. Plus all the short throw routes seem a yard short on the chains moving downs. He just looks like he is running an offense that would work ten years ago. Yes he didn't have the horses this year but it is the in game management and planning for the players that you have that is off. Unfortunately they will keep him for next year.
  18. Joe was high in the Aiken int but the unflagged helmet to helmet hit should have negated it. The Givens int I think wasa ccalled back shoulder throw which Givens should own up to if true.
  19. If Orr dove for the ball he would have had an interception near the end of the first half. They have lost the hunger for interceptions. Orr played pretty well overall. Just if he dove it was easy. Just didn't even try.
  20. If Will Hill's hit was a hit on a defenseless receiver then Davon House's hit on Aiken was also in an identical fashion but not called and the result was an interception. Unreal. Also they called a late hit on a Raven (before Asa's on the kickoff which was late) which wasn't late, so they don't call forward progress and we don't hit and score a td in the Cardinals Gane, here they call a clean hit to make sure the runner is down and they call a penalty. We can't win when the refs don't call consistent plays. But overall the refs were decent this game. They blew a few that benefitted us too.
  21. Because Cox must do the equivalent of throwing a football upside down between his legs into a trash can across the street and be perfect every single time he is called on to do it. Think regular snaps are tough? That is why all teams have a roster slot just for a long snapper.
  22. I thought it was a TV glitch when I first saw them. I thought it was some sort of weird ghosting effect.
  23. I kind of like those Steelers Prison Inmate uniforms, they seem fitting....
  24. Turn Joe loose! Look at the games when they do that, he is awesome! As soon as Trestman starts slowing him down bad things happen. It seems like they tend to wait till the last few minutes to do this and then is when the good things happen. Give Joe more control and let him control the tempo out there and he will make plays.
  25. The one thing I hope for this weekend is that we get a couple turnovers on Defense, the Jacksonville offense has been a turnover machine. Hopefully the two weeks will allow the secondary to capitalize....
