  1. Webb coming back at a reduced salary is a huge addition. Really helps out depth and versatility. Cornerbacks - Smith, Young, Carr Safeties - Weddle, Jefferson Hybrid S/CB - Webb That is a pretty darn good core. Plus add in whoever we likely draft in the first 3 rounds, a combination of young talent (Canady/Daniel/Price/Rolle) and a vet (one of Arrington or Powers most likely on a vet minimum deal) I have yet to see anything on Dumervil out there since he was cut. Would it be crazy for him to return on a vet minimum type deal with NLTBE incentives for sacks? In an ideal world we re-sign Webb & Dumervil for vet minimum type deals, get Mangold & Dunlap for $2-3M a year over 2-3 years to stretch out the cap him. We ready to draft with no glaring holes.
  2. Does Marqueston Huff signing with the Chiefs count in the comp pick formula? Obviously driven a little by contract size and years but would he be a qualifying FA given we rescinded his tender and he became a UFA?
  3. Really hope we can find a middle ground to bring him back. Webb deserves to play his entire career with the Ravens. Maybe something along the lines of 2 years, $7 million (most of which is guaranteed). Would net us $2-3 million in cap savings overall. Would be great depth to have in the secondary.
  4. Great pickup, hopefully for a nice comeback team friendly deal. Weddle strikes again?!?!
  5. I can see Webb restructuring .. seems to love it here. Plays like a Raven when healthy. Ozzie and Eric will find a fair compromise. Maybe Webb can play hybrid safety/nickel. Can never have enough DB's.
  6. Assuming we stick to signing FA's that were cuts, what are we looking at if Brandon Williams goes too ... 2 3rd round comps (Williams & Wagner) and a 5th rounder (Juice). Possibly add another 6th or 7th once you factor in the realistic chance of us losing Guy or Mallet. Not a bad haul, will hurt losing all 3 of them but I think Pierce can step up with Jernigan. RT we will have to fix and hopefully can find a value vet to help bridge to whoever we draft this year. Juice was a luxury. I can see us using Boyle in an fullback type of role which will allow us to keep the TE logjam. Assuming Pitta restructures there is no way we would have kept Pitta/Williams/Gilmore/Boyle/Waller/Watson if Juice was in play. With Juice gone, I can see the scenario of us keeping all those weapons if we move Boyle to fullback. This assumes Watson restructures as well.
  7. Looks like Kubiak is itching to get back into the game. Not sure if there is much precedence for this in the NFL but I would love to bring him back in some Front Office Scouting + Senior Offensive Assistant type role. He can ease his way back in and helping with draft evaluations, NFL player evaluation throughout the season and sit in on offensive meetings + help with game planning. To me it would be no brainer to add a familiar and most importantly extremely bright individual to the organization. Let's reach out and get this done. http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2017/02/03/former-broncos-coach-gary-kubiak-retired-just-month-already-plans-return-to.html
  8. Both would be ideal. Wallace takes a pay cut and Torrey comes home on the cheap after realizing the grass isn't always greener.
  9. Great signing. What comes next? Would love for Webb to restructure and lower his cap number, maybe even ask Hill and Elam to do the same. I would think that all 3 may also have some trade value if we wanted to get the contract off the books and pick up another asset.
  10. Can someone explain the Chase Ford tender? Seems like more than he would get on the open market. Makes less sense now with the Watson signing and Waller moving to TE. Maybe we try to stash Waller in the practice squad as a developmental guy. Are there any cap implications if we cut Ford at a later date?
  11. Ben Grubbs return anyone? I wonder how serious is neck injury/failed physical is. Really hoping we lock up Wallace for a reasonable 2-3 year contract for $2-3M/year. Would give us a pretty dynamic WR group with SS, Perriman, Wallace, Aiken and Camp. I hope we can get Pitta to restructure his base salary down to the minimum with some incentives to earn some of it back.
  12. Why's that? 2 years helps the overall number and if he signed this early I can see it being for a decent amount, will be interesting to see the total guaranteed money but with the amounts players are signing for today he should garner a comp pick. Last year's APY was around $2.75 million so depending how all the +'s and -'s for teams go he should be right around the cut-off.
  13. Matt Schaub = comp pick?? What a day! Definitely reduces the pain of his $1M bonus for % of snaps played hitting the cap.
  14. Does Tyrod making the Pro Bowl (even as an alternate/substitute) help our case with getting a comp pick? Are these types of awards weighted heavily enough to trump his low base salary? Would be nice to pickup a 7th at the end to lock someone in for a contract before the undrafted FA madness.
  15. Moving up to 6th ahead of the 49ers is BIG, especially if they are targeting a QB like Goff. My preference is still to stay in the top 10 as I think we need that influx of elite level talent but wouldn't be opposed to trading back to the teens if we get a future 1st out of it. Or if we can create a bidding war between that "team" plus the 49ers we may be able to milk say a 2nd round for them to move up a spot and guarantee themselves Goff.
  16. 4 turnover's already for the Broncos. Chargers need to capitalize now and put up 7. Would be painful to see them not win after creating 4 TO's in the first 23 minutes.
  17. With the Dolphins win and Ravens loss, this puts us at #7. With the 4:25 pm games yet to play, we are locked in between #5-7. We should be rooting for the 49ers and Chargers to pull off victories. The #5 pick would be a nice consolidation for this tough season. A couple slots higher in each of the rounds will be extremely valuable.
  18. Really hoping that West shows something the rest of the season. He definitely has the talent. Juice is a virtual lock. I think Forsett and Allen will be on the team next season. West and LT can battle for the 3rd spot. You never know with injuries or other things but I don't see us drafting a RB unless someone like Elliot lands where we are drafting or where we end up trading to. I think we are set at TE as well with Maxx, Crockett, Boyle and hopefully Pitta coming back. This lets us enter the draft not having to worry about FB, RB and TE from an offensive standpoint. Joe will be back so we can focus the draft around the OL and WR positions. Not a bad position to be in especially given all the talent we have on the roster.
  19. Pregame speech from Reeeeeeeeeeedddd must have fired him up. We need to bring back Ray and Ed as assistant coaches. The fire and intangibles they bring just can't be replaced. Ray as the assistant D coordinator and Ed as a defensive back coach. Ed has already said he will eventually coach ... just hope it will be with the big boys on Sundays.
  20. The original Nick Easton trade before the season had a conditional pick attached to it (I believe it is a conditional 7th but not confirmed anywhere). He was active for a few games with the 49ers but I don't think he has played. He was subsequently traded to the Vikings as part of the Gerald Hodges trade. Nick is still on the roster but has been active the last few weeks. Has anyone seen confirmation of the conditions or what happens to the potential pick since he has been traded? I know it is unlikely the conditions have been met but picking up the 49ers 7th rounder in a down year for them would be nice. Could be used to take a flier on a low-reward, high-risk player or as a sweetener in another trade.
  21. This is fantastic news with what appears to be a top 5-10 pick in every round to begin with. I think we can feel comfortable that McPhee and Smith will fetch us at least 2 4th rounders, hopefully Owen Daniels gets us a 6th. The interesting one will be Tyrod. I am no expert and know the formula is not public knowledge but do people think he would sneak into the 7th? With the comp pick being tradeable it becomes more valuable as I can see teams trading a 2017 6th for a late 2016 7th to snatch up a player so they don't be come UFA's.
  22. How nice would this rusher look alongside Suggs and Dumervil http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/157612800/joey-bosa-ohio-state-buckeyes
  23. Anyone know what the conditions are on the pick we acquired from the 49ers? Per Jeff Zrebiec: "Per transaction wire, Ravens get a conditional 7th round pick in 2016 from 49ers for center Nick Easton." Hopefully it is something reasonable and achievable and not like 16 games on the active roster.
  24. I expect something along the lines of $2M base salary + $1M in incentives based on games/snaps played which would be not likely to be earned and not count against this years cap.
  25. So Pitta and OGB? That would be my ideal scenario.
