  1. Simply put, these "pundits" cannot rate Flacco under QBs that haven't won Jack Squat, or never come close to winning Jack Squat. And as far as that Cleveland reporter goes, think of how ecstatic Cleveland would've been to have gotten Flacco in 2008. Maybe they would've finally gotten a QB draft decision right. But then I think about the list of QBs they've gone through and to have a more than competent QB like Jeff Garcia come in there and do so poorly to where they drop him after week 10 of that season but then he goes to Philly and Tampa Bay and takes those teams to the playoffs truly speaks to the ineptitude of the Cleveland Browns. They would've found a way to screw that pick up, because they always do. Let's bring in account their lack of an O-line for so many years, lack of receivers (because the one good receiver they have can't figure out how not to stay suspended) and lack of a running game. Basically a complete lack of offense. You could put Tom Brady or Peyton on the Browns and they wouldn't be able to do anything with them. So they suffer, minus the game we lost to them last year, we always sweep them. They just can't beat him. Put Flacco on the Falcons squad with Julio Jones and Roddy White and Gonzalez in his final years, they win a superbowl. Put him here all those insufferable years we had Boller, think of how many superbowls we'd have with that defense we had. And I don't need to dispute how many superbowls we would've had throughout these years. All you need to know is his first season, granted he was a rookie and there was a limit on what he was allowed to do, we're in the AFC championship game. They don't wanna give him his due accolades because they think all his game is comprised of is hail mary passes and defensive pass interference calls. And then they say he could've solidified his status as elite in the divisional round game vs. the Pats but that interception killed it when his receiver gave up on the ball and besides the fact that every postseason game we;ve had vs. New England Flacco has outplayed Brady, lets exclude the fact that HE WAS CARRYING US THAT ENTIRE GAME! 4 TD passes on a defense that had Vince Wilfork, Brandon Browner, Darelle Revis and Devin McCourty? Nobody else did that this entire year. And don't get me started on how we're the team to beat in the playoffs. Even going back to when McNair was still our QB, granted it was a different team, every team we've lost to in the playoffs has appeared in the Superbowl. What does that tell you?
  2. You're absolutely right, we're careless with our timeouts. Out of John's incredible coaching skills, one thing I think he struggles in is clock management, in terms of timeouts. It made no sense for us to have not had a timeout to spare on the last drive of that Chargers game. And I feel after awhile, John will doubt himself tremendously. Anybody remember that Broncos game from 2013? He called a challenge in the first half and lost, and that Wes Welker catch that never was happened but he decided not to throw the challenge flag because not only did he not want to lose another timeout though we were in a new quarter, he didn't wanna lose his ability to throw the flag for the remainder of the game. Then the onslaught happened and they beat us 49-27. Had he thrown that challenge flag, we win that game. Easily. At best in 2013, we were a 9-7 team. Easily in the playoffs over the Chargers who got that same record and snuck in the playoffs by the skin of their teeth. But 9 times out of 10, I believe Pitta makes that divisional round catch. They had this analysis on all 32 teams in which they determined how many players teams were from having a superbowl appearance. We were at number 2 behind the Cowboys, and we were 2 elite players away from a bowl appearance. Those 2 players? Jimmy Smith and Pitta. But you gotta admit, it would've been a bit of a hard catch to make but not as hard as that Flacco throw to O.D. in the 1st half. Forced that thing into triple coverage and he still made the catch. But the one he dropped looked a bit easier to make compared to that one.
  3. I'm watching the conclusion of Raw right now. I was sure Cavs would find a way to lose to the Warriors. And they did. Oh well. No championship of any kind for you Cleveland until Art Modell is elected into the Hall of Fame as he should've been years ago. I wonder if Seth Rollins is a Ravens fan...
  4. In that situation, I think Joe's best option was to scramble for the first down. It's a 2nd and 5. He definitely has the speed, it's just lowkey because he barely does it. But I remember that first down he had in that Browns game on the game winning drive. He played safety in High School, you have to have speed for that. Still, Torrey Smith's lack of creating separation between McCourty and the ball was inexcusable, hence the reason he's no longer a Raven. Honestly, the game was over when we kicked the FG in the divisional round instead of trying to convert the 4th. We were not only one of the most aggressive teams to do so, we also had the most success with 4th down conversions this year. Same thing with that drive in the Chargers game where that 3rd down throw to Torrey failed. When I was in the stands that day, in my mind I'm saying "Don't kick the FG, convert the 4th". Worst case scenario, you fail. But you back the opposing team up in their own endzone. Increases the possibility of getting a game sealing pick 6. Even excluding that, Jacoby not being able to run the kickoff in for a score also hurt us. Then how he muffed the kickoff return after the Chargers scored the game winning field goal didn't help much more. They should've tried for a Flacco bomb instead of conservative "let's try to get a lengthy field goal here" strategy. That bomb has one games for us and won us that Bengal game this year, had the refs not called that obvious flop. I literally could write a book on the mistakes they made in that Chargers game, as if this post wasn't evident enough.
  5. Everybody please bear with me here. Because the amount of thoughts of which I am about to share will rival only a novel. First of all, I am saddened that we weren't able to land Terrelle Pryor on our squad by claiming him off of waivers because given the news that he has decided to make the switch to WR, I felt like it was a worthy investment with little to no risk, but a high reward. His speed is unfathomable. If you haven't seen it before, make sure you check out his 2013 93 yard run against the Steelers in Oakland. Most yards ran by a quarterback to a touchdown to date. Plus, given that Matt Schaub is our backup to Joe, it doesn't exactly evoke hope inside myself if God forbid Joe were to have not been able to compete in a game this season, either missing a start or leaving a game early. I hope to God our O-line mirrors the success they had from 2014 and keeps people away from his left knee. I'm sure you all remember the last 3 games of 2013, Someone must've targeted that knee in the Lions game because the two games that followed after that, he wore a knee brace. Definitely wasn't 100 percent, which ontop of the miscues we had in 2013 impacted our chances of getting into the postseason even higher. Getting back to the topic at hand, Pryor and the Raiders atleast won 4 games in 2013. Schaub won 2 in a row that year and began his infamous pick 6 campaign, hasn't thrown a touchdown since. Hell, his possessions in Oakland this year, granted they were limited, still resulted in turnovers, including a pick 6 in that trainwreck of a game vs. St. Louis. With Pryor's short time with the Seahawks, granted he was cut, you can't tell me he wasn't able to pick up some sort of tips from Russell Wilson, the top dual threat QB in the NFL today. Matt Elam has had his struggles. Reading up on him running back a pick 6 from Schaub in camp had me believe that he may be finally stepping his game up, but remembering that it was Schaub that he picked off, it didn't exactly evoke hope in me either. Basically, Schaub made Elam look good. Not that he's bad, he just has exhibited bust-like behaviors. Still, they are on the squad so I must support them. You can't tell me that this signing the Browns doesn't put Pittsburgh at a bit of a disadvantage. As limited as his defensive reading skills are, Pryor still beat the Steelers in 2013, with Polamalu on the field, granted his decreased skill level at that time. And he burned him. Badly. Plus, with their lack of a defense this season and no defensive leaders and a new defensive coordinator, think of how much Pryor could take advantage of their lack of a defensive backfield. Think about it. If he does make their squad, the Browns could possibly sweep Pittsburgh this year. I'm not the tad bit worried, as we always sweep the Browns. The ideal situation is Pittsburgh ends up with a 1-5 conference record this year. They are our only threat in this conference in the playoffs. Then again, we just beat them this past year so why should I be worried? The moral of the story out of all this rambling is I wish we would've got him. I mean, Torrey Smith, as much as I appreciate everything he did for us, was a one trick pony, but a speedster nonetheless and Flacco got the most out of him. You can't tell me he couldn't have done the same with Terrelle. Again, forgive me. I want virtually everybody in the league to play for my team, minus the obvious shady characters like Roethlisberger and Brady. I feel bad for Terrelle though. Who's gonna throw to him?
  6. You're preaching to the choir. I was there that day and was confident that we'd come out on top, as a result of a Torrey Smith touchdown early in the game and a Phillip Rivers interception. Then you have to worry about those useless stats they bring up in games (the one for this one was we never lost if Torrey caught a td pass). Nevertheless, we'll get em back this year.
