  1. Wonder if we could get Laurnitis now that the RAMS let him go??? would love to have him playing beside CJ.... that would be phenomenal!
  2. can he appeal this??? I think he has a legit case to have it reduced!
  3. IDK... i think they are kind of a template. In years past I would have agreed.... you cannot duplicate or try to duplicate Peyton in his prime. But that is not how the Broncos did it this year... they did it with a balance offensive system set up by the guy who left here (Kubiak) and his predecessor has a similar offensive philosophy. The Broncos did it with balance on offense and a strong and intimidating defense. We have always valued a strong and nasty D... we have the ingredients in place on offense and most of the ingredients in place on D... the biggest difference I see is that they have Wade Phillips and we are stuck with Dean Pees! If it were not for that one factor... I would say that they are our blue print... but with Pees at the helm... I do not believe that anyone knows what our blue print for success is on that side of the ball????
  4. I wouldn't consider Zsmith a DE maybe if this was a 4-3 but he is way undersized for that position and didn't play there at all last season. I would hold of in calling Elam, Walker, and Brown contributors. KLM will be on the bubble. elam started his first season plus....that clearly makes him a contributor-anything else just adds to that title....while i agree that contributor may be a stretch for brown so far....i think he will be asked to do a lot more this season- i dont think i could call him a contributor....ZSmith played DE in college and we listed him as a DE but i agree hr is an OLB in our system....butni see the point... we have a lot of homegrown talent -who could really step up and play well.... and if so that should mean we can afford to step out in FA and sign a few people again (some this year) but more so even next year!
  5. I wouldnt mind having travis benjamin, claiborne or reyes.... if the price was right. I really dont see any of them (excpet Maybe Claiborne) coming in and starting but everyone of them would add some much welcomed depth and make our rotation much more effective at their respective positions!
  6. braxton miller is not a 1st round WR.... he is a talented athlete but he is still more of a project. I really dont even think he is worth a 2nd round pick! Too many other WRs that are very talented and much more polished!
  7. I really liked Malcom Mitchell UGA, he is big, fast and just seems to be a better athlete! We could use Mitchell for sure... I also really have been impressed with C.Peake WR CLEMSON - who showed more this week then expected... this is a kid who could jump of the draft boards , If shepard is available in the 3rd or 4th then okay but hes not a 2nd and Braxton Miller has looked good bc he is a great athlete but his routes are terrible and his game awareness seems avg at best... not buying the hype on braxton!
  8. Congrats to Tyrod.... always though that he was a special talent and still think that Tyrod will only get better and better. Glad he got his chance!
  9. some current players that Ive been impressed with at this years senior bowl... Reggie Ragland OLB -bamma, Noah Spence-DE-Eastern Kentucky, Jeremy Cash -S-Duke, Jordan Jenkins OLB -UGA***, Deoindre Hall, CB Northern Iowa, Maurice Cannaday CB UVA, Kyler Frackrell OLB UTAH ST, ***Joe Dahl G Wash St, and Carl Nassib DE PSU has really impressed on the other end Braxton Miller WR OHIO ST has looked great there but I am not sold on him or Cyrus Jones DB out of Bamma- (A few more intriguing players would be Glenn Gronkowski -TE-KSTATE, Shawn Oakman a giant DE out of Baylor, Charone Peake -WR- Clemson and finally LeRaven Clark-T-Tex Tech for obvious reasons)!
  10. Which 5 are you referring to? I count at least 11: McPhee fetched a pretty penny, Osemele is a top guard, Upshaw's going to be too expensive to keep, Wagner had a slight regression this year but was outstanding last year, Juice, Williams, Camp was looking up before he got injured, everyone thought Taliaferro was the bee's knees before Buck stepped up this year, Gillmore is fantastic, Boyle is fantastic, and Smith showed up big this season. elead1... agreed- we have landed some very good players this way. McPhee, KO, Upshaw, Wagner, Gilmore,Carl Davis, Ed Dickson, BWilliams, Camp, Boyle,LT, ZSmith, TBrooks and Juice-have all started games for us.... that is 14 players in 5 years or nearly three starters a year...anytime you can find 3 starters a year from one source -you milk that cow until its dry!
  11. high praise coming from one of the premier interior DL in the NFL... Glad Yanda is a Raven for life!
  12. I have watched the defenses play through the playoffs and our defense looks nothing like these - DOnt get me wrong... we are equally as talented, especially in the front 7. THey are physical and aggressive, nasty and playing downhill. There is little room for offenses to operate and the windows are very small. I cant remember the last time our defense has played like that. I cant remember the last time our defense looked that physical. I cant remember the last time we played with that type of speed on that side of that ball and gang tackled..... SMH we have the talent but just havent played like it since Pees came to BMORE>... DEFENSE still wins championships.... im afraid that with dean at the helm we may not be that team again for some time???? I hope i am wrong but he hasnt showed many anything to make me believe that our defense can look like that under him!~
  13. I like the gold pants... just maybe need an alternate jersey with them! The black on black is still more bmore though!
  14. I love how the ex-ravens (jacoby and touissant) has hurt the sqeelers this year! Love it!
  15. I watched the Az v GB game, the NE v KC game.... The Seattle v Carolina game and I am watching the Den v Pit game.., and one thing that stands out is the aggressiveness and down hill play of every defense. The defenses left are physical, fast and play down hill.... I cannot remember the last time I said that about our Defense! We look so soft compared to all of these defenses. SMH!!!!!!!!! DEFENSE WINs CHAMPIONSHIPS.... get rid of Pees!
  16. Just when we thought that 2015 was over.... Really bad year for the Ravens family... Prayers to the Marchibroda family
  17. Now we just need to get rid of PEES
  18. NCMAN... lol i dont know about anyone else- but i know what the difference between a cap hit and salary is... I also know what dead money is... and that is what makes me think that steelcity has a valid point. We can offset some of Joes cap hit by re-structuring and giving him more money up front... that is what causes dead money.... when the player gets injured or cannot follow through on their end or even worse... they play below what they earned (signing bonus plus salary).... thats where we get into trouble. Joe is due to make 28 million and we are trying to offset that with re-structuring.... his cap hit will be around 20 million.... and that works well if he plays up to his ability but if he is not 100% or he gets re-injured or something else happens (ray rice) we still take the cap hit. What I am askingis " is Joe (for what we ask him to do- manage a game) worth 20% of our cap? that leaves 52 other guys to split the 80%??? If the answer is yes... then we better take the handcuffs off of him this year.... but do we think he is dynamic enough to make up for what we will lose out on with that extra money????? I think the people on this website get the difference between salary and cap space - i am not sure that everyone gets the difference between merit and entitlement.
  19. The bengals defense gave up the fewest points in the league this year. The sqeelers defense performed better and better as the year went on and they seemed to both be a defense with an attitude. Two AFC North defenses that you do NOT look forward to facing. Pack a lunch type of deals (watch their playoff game). Since Pees got here we cannot say that about our defense. We just cant! We dont play with an attitude,we are not nasty and physical. We are not even as physical as the browns on that side of the ball. The AFC NORTH is built on defense and physicality.... its not by accident that we have finished 3rd in the division over the last 3 seasons. When we figure out that Pees is our problem.... we can take our rightful claim at the division once again but I am afraid that until Dean Pees is gone... we may be looking at a 4th year of mediocrity in a division ruled by physicality! (we are not bullies of the division anymore)!
  20. i like the direction our offense went under trestman....i cant even imagine what he can do with a fulldeck! CANT WAIT
  21. WOW.... i have never see a team get robbed worse then the Bungloes last night! SMH Go Broncos... send the sqeelers homes where they belong!
  22. IDK....3rd place / 3 years in a row... I dont care how close the talent gap is... We need to close the gap and win the stinking division next year!!!!!!!!!
  23. Blaine Clausell also has some potential. He was very talented at Miss State but needs to put some strength on that giant frame. He reminds me a little of Jah Reid... (hope without the injuries and off the field problems)!
