  1. It really seems like 2 QBs will be picked in the top 5 now. It's assumed the Rams have traded up for Carson Wentz, but either way it has to be for one of the two QBs. The Browns should still go QB at 2, but even if they opt against that you have to imagine teams such as SF and Philly begin looking to trade up for the second QB. Assuming 2 QBs are off the board by some means before the Ravens pick at 6, the pool of highly ranked prospects will yield better options. Suddenly of the top non-QB prospects (Tunsil, Ramsey, Jack, Bosa, Buckner) at least two would remain on the board and at this point any of them could be available depending on the scenario. Even going in order of what most consider the best prospects would still leave the Ravens with a choice between Bosa and Buckner. This trade up by the Rams shakes up the top of the draft and it should be in the Ravens favor.
  2. Terrance West has been cut by the Titans. I know this is his second cut of the year. That being said the Ravens could use some depth at the RB position and use the rest of the year to see if he might be worth keeping around. Who knows, it could be the opportunity the local kid needs.
  3. I wish everyone would just relax. We are having a great draft by most accounts. NFL.com has us in the top 5 so far for the first 3 rounds after picking Mosely and Jernigan, both of which were rated in the first round (and in some cases as top 20 picks) by a lot of people. Its almost like we had 2 first round picks! Then we fill our biggest need with a widely regarded second round talent in the third round who could be the best free safety in the draft. Just accept that what you are watching is a culmination of at least a year of work from the front office. They know what they are doing. They are going to make good choices for the team and they know more than we do. Crockett Gillmore in the 3rd might have been a surprise, but it fills a need in getting a well rounded TE. Its obvious the front office likes this guy and they did not want to risk losing him before their pick in the 4th round. The pick kind of reminds me of the Pitta pick a few years back. Pitta was not described as fast either and look how he has turned out. Just have some patience and enjoy the draft. We already have a solid draft. CJ Mosley will likely see time this year rotating with Arthur Brown along side Daryl Smith. Timmy Jernigan will help replace Arthur Jones at DE and add to a stacked defensive line. Terrence Brooks will compete for the FS job with Darian Stewart right away and may see some time this year. Also with Kubiak's 2 TE system, Crockett Gilmore will see some playing time this year. We are doing well and there is even more to come.
  4. Bet the Bears were hoping Jernigan would make it to them
  5. Exactly, this pick was purely BPA. I'm surprised Jernigan was here at 47. Great value in the second round.
  6. Surprised Jernigan was still there at 47. BPA again it seems
  7. Pretty good pick for Pittsburgh. They're trying to bring some youth to that defense.
  8. Got a feeling Seattle's thinking O Line too. Might be Moses
  9. Tuitt DE Nix DT Jernigan DT Moses OT Latimer WR Ealy OLB Good pool of players
  10. Plenty of good players for us to choose from. Many of these guys have been discussed in the first round. Such a deep draft.
  11. I liked Matthews... but the Ravens may like Latimer more
  12. Tuitt DE Nix DT Jernigan DT Moses OT Kuoandijo OT Matthews WR Latimer WR Ealy OLB Some good players still on the board
  13. I would look for the Ravens to look at the best available player in the 2nd round while considering OT, S, and WR. Offensive Line Morgan Moses OT Joel Bitonio OT/G Cyrus Kouandijo OT David Yankey G Xavier Su'a-Filo G Safety Terrance Brooks S LaMarcus Joyner S Ed Reynolds S Wide Receivers Marquise Lee WR Cody Latimer WR Jordan Matthews WR Lee will likely be gone within the first few picks tonight. There should be some good Offensive Lineman available and I think one of - if not both - Latimer and Matthews will be there as well. Morgan Moses or one of these receivers would be a nice addition although I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens simply pick the highest available player regardless of position like DT Ra'Shede Hageman, DT Timmy Jernigan, DE Stephon Tuitt, DE/OLB Demarcus Lawrence, OLB Van Noy if one of these players is available. Either way, it looks like a good player will likely fall to the Ravens in Round 2.
  14. DeCosta said Mosely would have been the pick if they picked at 10. This could mean he was rated higher than Lewan, who was selected after 10, and Martin. Seems like the Ravens got their guy at 17. Mosely is a defensive leader who also is a 'film junkie'. Sounds good to me. The Ravens will need a defensive leader once Daryl Smith is gone and it appears the Ravens got him yesterday. Mosely and Brown appear to be the future ILBs for the Baltimore Ravens. Don't forget both of these guys are good coverage LBs which will only become more important in the NFL, which has become a passing league. This pick may not fill an immediate need, but I believe it was the best available player on the Ravens board which will add depth this year AND fill a need in the very near future. Just sit back, relax, and let Ozzie do what he does best in adding quality talent that will push the team into the playoffs for years to come. Enjoy the excitement of the draft and trust Ozzie.
