Bosa has amazing power, but he doesn't have much technique. The biggest thing from his film that you notice is that he generates most of his pressure with pure strength. The only problem is that O-Linemen in the NFL are much stronger. Once he can't push them around like he could in college, he'll have to learn swim moves, spin moves, etc. That being said, I still think he's the best run defending edge in this draft. I just think he's worth a pick in the 8-10 range.

He already has better technique than some NFL lineman, he uses his hands better than anyone in the draft, and he already uses swim moves and I've seen him use a spin every once in a while.

I never liked Clowney and anyone here can tell you that if they paid attention during that period. I got negged for calling Clowney overrated due to laziness and questioned his work ethic and laziness. I'm not bragging but I was right. So with that said, I don't see the same issues I saw in Clowney that I see in Bosa. Not at all.

I'm with you, I never liked Clowney much, his work ethic always scared me. Bosa is a more refined player to me and I don't see him taking off plays like Clowney did, that said I'm not 100% sold on Bosa's work ethic and competitiveness maybe it's just his mannerisms that makes him seem like he lacks passion for the game, it's probably nothing but me looking for something wrong with him,I'd still be ecstatic if he fell to us.

What I like about Bosa is you know what you gonna get. I don't see him getting 10-12+ sacks. But he's a high motor guy, very good at stuffing the run and can provide a good pass rush. His potentiel isn't as high as some other guys but he's so good with his hands RIGHT now thats thats kinda rare. He'll be a 3 downs players for 10+ years (thats only my opinion).

Maybe Dodd or Floyd or any other prospects will become better and get 15+ sacks. But they aren't 3 down players early in their career. Bosa has a pretty good pedigree and if he falls to the Ravens, I'd be very happy with him (unless Jack/Ramsey/Tunsil are available). I don't care about the schemes, Bosa has the frame to add 10-15 pounds so he can even play 5 tech. He can work his feet and get quicker to be an hydrid DE/OLB just like Suggs.

At the end of the day, you don't draft players to fit YOUR schemes. You adapt your schemes to fit your players. Don't forget a coordinator will stay approx 1-3 years with the same team

I can see Bosa being a perennial 10+ sack guy, people look at his 40 time and assume he's not very athletic but his agility drill were great, after the SB everyone is obsessed with speed but guys like Chandler jones or even Muhammad Wilkerson had more sacks than Miller, I'm not trying to take anything away from Miller but everyone has been crazy since the SB.

I don't get why Ravens fans love Bosa so much. He's a really good run defender, but we don't need that. We need a pass rusher, and, no matter what NFL or ESPN say, he isn't. Also, the notion that he can play OLB is absolutely untrue. Guys like Shaq Lawson, Deforest Buckner, and Noah Spence are all better pass rushers. Watch this video:

Can you explain with your own words on why he's not a good pass rusher? (I'm not about to watch a 45min video by some random) I don't like to say someone's opinion is wrong because everyone is entitled to their own... But your opinion seems really wrong.

Spence didn't leave Ohio State until after the 2014 season. He was suspended indefinitely in September of 2014 for another failed test and then in November the Big Ten made him permanently ineligible. He announced his transfer to EKU in January of 2015

But he didn't play at all during 2014 correct? I believe he was suspended for 3 games before the season started then in September was suspended indefinitely then eventually banned.

Edit: just checked Google. He was suspended January 1st 2014 for 3 games (the bowl game and first 2 games in 2014 season) then before he returned from his first he failed another drug test and was eventually banned before hitting the field at all.

VH3 would be my 6th guy as well. And another guy who I think would be a reach but I could understand us taking him is Lawson. I'm still iffy on Clemon defensive ends though because of all the pieces they had benefited from each other. But if I were to take a guy from Clemson it would be Lawson.

I agree there's a lot of guy who might be reaches that I'd take over Stanley, I'm a big fan of Lawson, I don't really have a top 10 right now but I don't think Stanley would even be in my top 10

I don't believe so I was watching a couple videos on NFL.com yesterday and they brought up that Bosa's production decreased when Spence left. Maybe their information was wrong but that is where I got mine. If his actually increased then that's even a better reason to draft him.

I don't think spence played at all In 2014 which was Bosa's best statistical year, I could be wrong but I thought Spence was suspended then banned before he even played a game In 2014

  8. If Kubiak doesn't see Clady as a good fit, should we? We're running a similar system. that said he could be better this year since he'll be another year removed from his knee injury, he could be an upgrade over Monroe and who knows maybe Kubes covets a player he coached here in 2014 and we could go with a player for player trade.

I agree and I also like the pick because if he was there he would most likely be the BPA (depending of course) and a huge need with Dumervil and Suggs both up there in age. Also Suggs is dealing with his driving without a license issue and coming off of an achilles tear. We don't know how Suggs will come back. I hate the argument that Bosa only had 7 sacks after Spence left... The same thing happened to Dumervil after Suggs went down with an injury. 17 sacks in 2014 and then 6 in 2015 for Dumervil. Of course it is going to happen if you are double and triple teamed. And even for his lack of sacks he still had a lot of pressures and qb hits.

Didn't Bosa have his best year after spence left though?

Film watchers, I have to ask: who are your top 3 safeties in terms of range and ballhawking abilities?

Darian Thompson is probably the highest rated true FS, there's also a couple late round guys who both played a lot of deep coverage well i like a lot in Kevin Byard and Justin Simmons.

Didn't jalen mills have a domestic issue? I think He has a perfect skill set for our needs but I recall someone saying he had off the field issues that likely took him off our board

He had a battery of a woman charge back in 2014 but I believe the charges were dropped because he agreed to go through a DV program (similar to Ray Rice). It's a shame cause I really like him as a player, I have to wonder if Ozzie will really take him off the board, and if so are we really gonna take any red flagged prospects off our board until the end of time just because we had a very bad situation with one player.

While we're talking about past drafts.. Does anyone think maybe we could have been better off if we took HHCD? Maybe we could have even beaten the pats in the playoffs? And maybe we could be looking at ragland this year as a trade back option instead and our secondary would not have turned into such a disaster? I love Mosley but I can't help but think what if...

I didn't watch too many packers games but I thought HHCD was pretty bad in coverage this year?

I can see us taking a safety but maybe not him. What about Miles Killbrew? Solid tackler, can lay the wood in the open field and can play in the box as a possible extra LB. Could be a solid back up behind Weddle until its his time to take over. Alot of drafts have him going 3-4 rounds so maybe an option after we get a pass rusher and CB.

I'm not sure Killibrew is right for us, he can put up some highlight hits but he's inconsistent from what I've seen, he'll lay the wood one play and then let a guy run right over him the next, and he doesn't wrap up too well from what I've seen he throws his shoulder which leads to broken tackles.

Okay, so Bosa is a good comparison?  Because he has that "swimming" move where he can detach himself even if he doesn't have leverage.  If Buckner can learn that as well as Bosa seems to... yeah, I'd like that.

I wouldn't say Bosa is a great comparison, because he is more of an edge guy, but Buckner does have a nice arm over rip move similar to Bosa and I've seen him use a spin move but that doesn't work to well as an interior pass rusher.

Can somebody explain to me why DeForrest Buckner is so popular around here? I haven't seen any tape so i'm genuinely curious

He's a tall athletic guy, a great run defender who fits what we do on defense. Also a developing pass rusher with a great first step. A lot of people see him as a Calais Campbell type player and I think it's a fair comparison but I think Buckner has a higher ceiling.

I feel the same but I think it only depends on who's going to be there. Top guys such as Ramsey, Bosa, Jack, and Tunsil all seem to be gone by the time The Ravens pick  and they the guys I think The Ravens should have interest in the most. I

It doesn't matter too much to me, I have 6 guys I'd be happy with, obviously I'd love one of the big 5 but if somehow they are all gone I'd gladly grab VH3 unless someone really gave us a kings ransom for the pick.

Glad to hear Jaylon Smith is looking good so far, obviously squatting is very different from doing lateral movements, but 400lb reps already sounds very promising considering everyone was thinking his career could be over.

would be awesome to grab him in the 3rd.

  18. I like what I've seen from Zack Sanchez he's a very boom or bust type player by that I mean he'll either get an int or give up a TD, but he looks feisty in run support and could fare better as a safety/nickel hybrid, he could be the aggressive type player we've been missing in the secondary.

Actually, the best Floyd comparison I've seen is to Jason Taylor, who is about the same size. And we saw what he was able to do.

Yeah they are almost identical sizes, and I really like Floyd but he could also compare to Dion Jordan, and we saw what he was able to do.

would definitely take Floyd in the 2nd if he fell though.
