He's a restricted free agent now. So do we bring him back? He looks like he has a lot of potential. How much do we offer him?
Only outside FA I want is Byron Maxwell.
He sucked today, I don't know if he's good enough to be our #3
Agreed, Kapron Lewis-Moore and Brent Urban are two who I hope can provide quality depth.
Hate to tell you this man, Lewis-Moore hasn't played football in over two years, guys in the position he's in his position tend to retire.
If he can handle Antonio Brown this week he's a keeper.
#1: Jimmy Smith (hoping he recovers from the lisfranc of course)
#2: Lardarius Webb (hoping that he continues playing as he has lately)
#3: Veteran FA (more of a mid tier guy, nothing too expensive)
#4: High-Mid Round Pick (someone to develop for the future when Webb's contract becomes even more of a hindrance)
#5: Rashaan Melvin (could slide up to 4 depending on the pick)
#6: Asa Jackson (could honestly take him or leave him)
Melvin's better than any old free agent we'd find. And es good enough to be our #3, which brings us to the question of whether or not we draft a CB high in the draft.
Terrible tackling skills+Bad coverage skills+5'9+being a strong safety yet somehow the worst tackler on the field=bust.
Just goes to show how ridiculously deep that draft really was. Sounds like a nice fit for what we do.
He has one of the slowest 3 cone still times I've ever seen though, could Be a major concern.
Pro-Day Results From 2013 Draft:
4.42-4.46 40-yard dash
7.32 3-cone drill
4.29 20-yard shuttle
38" vertical jump
10'6" broad jump
Notes:
High Football IQ
Nice Read/Reaction Ability
High Awareness/Recognition
Disciplined Defender
Can Turn-and-run with receivers
Stays with their hip
Not Afraid To Be Physical
Not Afraid to go for the pick
Ideal Zone CB
Doesn't Allow A Lot of YAC
Decisive Tackler
Good Angles and Good Closing Speed
Negatives:
Durability May Be A concern
Long Strider, Fast 40 is not indicative of on-field speed
Not very experienced in Press Man
Below Average 3-cone drill shows some stiffness in backpedaling and explosion when backpedaling
Has Dropped Interceptions That Would Have Been Big Plays
Bites On Double Move From Time to Time
Some scouts had a 5th round value on him.
I was just looking at his college stats and he has more passes defended (34) then Jimmy Smith, Patrick Peterson, Richard Sherman, Darelle Revis....... Just an FYI:) Aquib Talib had 56!
Does that mean he was targeted a lot? Is that a good thing? I have no idea how Cornerback stats work lol.
If he can do it this week I'll give him serious props, in a perfect senerio he becomes our #1 corner this year, and when Jimmy comes back one of them convert over to RCB so we can have them be out #1 and #2 corners.
Root for the guy bro, he's on your team. Why you so down on him? He showed fight and played alright for first game, why not get excited about that.
The reason I was down on him is because we've been through this before with Levine, Gorrer all of em.
Just saw more of his footage, he only allowed 1 catch for about 11 yards, great tackler. I denounce and reject my early comments.
There's a reason Harbaugh didn't say anything about him, yall act like this guys gonna be our #2 cornerback after Jimmy comes back.
Was he really that good? Who'd he cover? How many snaps he have?
He only played like 10 snaps, and he played against the Jaguars 3rd WR, not much of a challenge.
Honestly, I'm praying for this kid, I've known many substance abusers and let me tell you, it is a never ending struggle. He needs to do FOUR things.
1.cut ties ALL with his fake "friends".
2.Learn to resist temptations and impulsive thinking.
3.leave Cleveland.
4.check into a rehab facility.
I REALLY hope he makes it to baltimore, we have a very close-knit team and we have enough good Veterans(unlike Cleveland) who could give this man a great support system. Praying for you man!
Wow. Kid has top 10 ability as a WR and a chance at a superb life, but he keeps trying to throw it away. Hope he gets a serious wake up call and looks for help. As a Ravens fan, I'm pretty darn happy he'll be suspended for the year.
Honestly, I never quite got the hype around him, he had a few great back-to-back games but then COMPLETELY disappeared, I didn't even realize he was in the game when ever we played Cleveland, even after ALL this though...I'd still consider signing him. If Cleveland is truly done with this kid(which they have every right to be) once he's released he'd go for quite a low price considering his skill.
Josh Gordon just won the prestigious "Screw up of the year award".
Due to the recent signings I doubt the FO is still in pursuit of Flowers. As long as Pittsburg don't sign him I'm happy

McCourtey Wants 9 million. Cutting Ngata would leave us with about $13 million In cap space... We'd have some wiggle room.
