They did sign Frank Gore and draft Josh Robinson, who I think is a little underrated.
Their O-line is bad and the colts run a pass first offense so any impact an old running back and a rookie will have will be minimal.
Also ryan clady was horrible last year..
In the running game, not pass coverage.
i disagree with colts wasting a pick on dorsett..you can never have too many good receivers regardless of style or similarities.
Multiple additions to One value Position is a waste of roster spots. Look at last 3 super bowl winners. The Ravens, Seahawks and Patriots didn't have 1 really good value position, they were all spread out teams. If the Colts face a good secondary they are COMPLETELY screwed because they have a bad denfense and a below average rushing Game.
.
peters is the only guy of the 3 mentioned ( peters dupree and perriman) that i'd have been happy with
I have no doubt that of those 3 perriman was the last choice.
dupree in many ways is the OLB version of perriman..great athlete..average football player
Giving up on Perriman already I see.
Except Melvin's 3 games came against poor competition. The Browns, Jags and Texans had 3 of the worst passing games in the league, so to extrapolate that wouldn't be as realistic.
Cornerback stats don't care how bad the other teams offense is.
Limited snaps, if you take Melvins 3 regular season games he looks like one of the top corners in the league. We'll see how Jernigan is when he starts for more than 4 games.
We should trade for Zach Mettenberger, he's almost a copy and Paste of Joe, exact same strengths and play style, he'd be a great backup. He'd only cost like a 6th round pick.
Returned 24 kicks for 686 yards and a TD. Longest Return was 97 yards. Will probably be our 4th corner and probably return specialist unless someone else steps up.
Melvin and Asa are above him on the depth chart, he might be the 6th.
Green Bay vs Baltimore superbowl
Regarding Buck Allen - I'm excited. Given his pass-catching ability and general shiftiness in space, I think Joe will look his way a lot when he's on the field. Also...if you caught his meet the rookies interview, he's been through some stuff and has a little Ray Lewis-like leadership in him. Just what I picked up watching the interview.
As long as Flacco doesn't over abuse him like he did with Rice, I remember back when 5 out of 10 of Joes throws were 3 yard dump offs to Rice. Cringe worthy.
Hill resigning > Yanda resigning
Yanda's about to be on the wrong side of thirty and we have young guys who need long term deals, If he doesn't sign niw in on with him walking. Urshel looks like a beast. Hill, KO and Tucker>Yanda imo.
Since when were eric reid and jimmy ward better than will hill? They aren't.
Will Hill is the truth.
Different positions, Reid plays Free safety and Ward plays nickel CB.
I can't disagree with this any more than I do. I'm not sure how you can say this. Jimmy Smith was never bad. It's really acc argument that never holds up. Yes, Smith has his struggles, especially the double move, but he was hardly worse than how Melvin played against the Patriots. I'm not even saying Melvin played bad. I just think Smith played better than given credit.
Melvin was apperently injuried and he was going against arguably the GOAT with multiple good WR's and Tightends. I'll cut him some slack.
I think Walker could be the next Webb or the next Jackson or even the next Brown. I don't see him as the next Marc Anthony. He could he a pro bowl player (Webb, should've made it when he had that great year), an average player who may never contribute (Jackson), or a total bust for the most part (Brown). It's too early to say, but I wouldn't call Melvin a lock to do anything, even if I like him. He could be a one year wonder. They exist.
They're rare. For his first year playing Melvin did pretty good. WAY better than Jimmy did his first time playing. When Webb goes down this coming season Melvin's being moved to #2 CB.(the secondary might actually play better after that)
I think the most obvious one is Jah Reid.
I'll throw is more surprising one in - DeAngelo Tyson.
He started strong last year, but fading into oblivion and the end of the bench by the end of last season.
If - and this is the real qualifier - if Urban and KLM can prove healthy, and with 2 draft picks added in, I think Tyson could be vulnerable, especially if he doesn't show better than he was apparently showing at the end of 2014.
KLM's retiring, We've seen this hundreds of times decent players get drafted but turn out to be injury prone and end up retiring. He hasn't played in three years and has torn his ACL like 3 times. He's done. People need to stop thinking he's the next best thing.
Well it's probably our last year having him so we need to win now. Doubt we can a long term deal with him.
So now that we signed a slot only cornerback who's playing outside? Jimmys good but Webb hasn't looked too good outside...
And I'm sure there won't be rotations, injuries, etc...
CB rotations? Didn't know that was a thing. Like I said early "I see your point".
did you see what happened to our secondary last season?
You got a point.
…because all of those guys will still be here in 3 years, right?
Melvin, Jimmy and Arlington in theory should be here. Jimmy and Arlington are signed on for that long and Melvin is good and cheap.
With Jimmy, Webb, Kyle, Melvin and Asa in front of Tray Walker I doubt he'll EVER play, not sure how good this pick was. Only way I see him playing during his rookie contract is if multiple people either get hurt or just suck(or Webb retired soon but even then Melvin still ahead of him).
Urschel, who in my opinion will be our next All-Pro Center, may play Rt Guard, if Yanda's agent gets too pushy. K.O., is the future, and like Yanda, is nasty. Yanda got his deal. K.O., if he continues to improve, is next in line!
Agreed, K.O and Tucker's contracts are more important than Yanda's at this point.
