  1. It be cool to see Waller back there

Too big, he'll be an easy tackling target. Also, he's fast but he's not quick, he can't make cuts fast enough and he doesn't have twitch. We need a smaller guy like Carter or Asa. They have the needed physic and experience. Webb and Smith don't need to be taking injury risks.

  2. anyone know how long its been since baltimore has hosted a playoff game? Its time for us. They didn't take us seriously, but the fact that we've won playoff games on the road has made them do so, "flaky flacco" has proven himself. So while this maybe a "silly ranking" it speaks volumes to me. are you guys feelin it like i am? lol, the games need to start already Its time for winning the Super Bowl to start from home.

The second to last time we were in the playoffs.

  3. Good to have 4 starting caliber Cornerbacks on the team. Will come in handy when we play reciever loaded teams like Indy. Hope he can develop more, he looks like he could come in the full in at #2 if Webb goes down.

  4. ok here is some inside scoop for you all..

Waller is a TE not a WR. He doesn't run WR routes. He is a project and will be very good down the road. He will be a PS guy or stash to IR.

Carter has been over hyped. Not an NFL caliber WR or return guy. Camp body..

Butler is a monster. He is our best WR and you will all see this during TC.

Injuries are a part of the game and Campanaro has been snake bit but the training staff got him right last summer and when they do it again this summer he will be fine. He is our best punt returner and best slot. Talent trumps everything and when his talent is back on the field he will be considered a lock again and a fan favorite..

"Butler is a monster."? Has a ever taken an NFL snap? Wasn't he here in 2013, when we barely had any good WR's? How do you know he's good?

  5. Not true. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Arrington and Vaughn guys who came from other teams with starting experience? Did Will Hill not start every game he played last year and was rated the 2nd best FS in the NFL during 2013? Isn't Lewis projected to be our starting FS this year? Regardless of your opinion of how he played, Melvin saw an considerable amount of game action last year. My point is 2 things.

    1. Jimmy and Webb are the only starters out right now but the WRs are still competing against NFL caliber DBs. Every team won't have a Jimmy Smith on it. Also when Jimmy Smith did practice in the first OTA, there were reports that Aiken had a couple nice grabs against him.

    2. If this part of the offseason was pointless, coaches wouldn't put so much emphasis on it. Right now Flacco and the WRs are developing timing with each other, it's not just about who they are competing against. Right now Flacco is starting to build trust in his WRs in "this" offense.

Judging by the way you are viewing things the entire TC will mean nothing because the offense will never game plan to beat the defense and they certainly won't show the Eagles anything. If you're talking about a WR competition, all 10 young guys won't be lining against Jimmy or the best CBs during this time.

You got a point mate. I stand corrected.

  6. I know there is no Jimmy and no Webb, bit for the WRs to look strong right now is encouraging to me. I have my questions about each guy, but right now it seems that they have really been pros in terms of not resting on the little success they had last year. Meaning Brown and Aiken. In terms of Butler i love how he's not conceding his opportunities. Last year i though his camp was better then both Brown and Aiken but the injury shut him down. I remember hin putting in a show at the M&T Bank practice. This year he's come back and sounds like he's even stronger. I think many hace written him off, myself included but i think he has a real shot. I would hate to be the one to have the final decision on who stays and who goes. Should all the guys play well.

We'll see how they do when the actual starters come to practice. All the hype we're hearing about Aiken and Co. is worthless if they can't do good against starting caliber players.

  7. Because it's possible?

Not anymore, with all the internal tension over there they won't be focused on the game, not to mention the "unexpected" retirements. They just lost thor Pro Bowl Alternate RT the other day. They seem done. I feel bad for Torrey, he's about to have his worse season ever. Bad QB with no Pass protection, lined up on the same side Sherman, Peterson and Jenkins line up on and on top of that he can't run routes.

  8. Yes, I believe most of us understand that the LFW article is made of up articles that were found from other sites, but considering the one quote in that part of the article is from Arron Wilson I tend to believe that right now its a close battle. Arron is hired by The Sun to be objective while guys like Ryan Mink are hired to hype up the team. Sure Mink has to be truthful but I am going to believe an outside source like The Sun than a guy that gets paid by the Ravens.

Sami makes a great point. Elam struggled a lot with his tackling technique. If he hasn't fixed that Hill will be the starter and the Ravens will probably have to draft another safety next season.

It was over for Elam as soon as we signed Lewis, matt can't Tackle or cover, the two starting safeties (Lewis and Hill) can do those things.

  9. You bring up an interesting point...what exactly is Juice's role in this offense? Don't really need him to block, we got Crockett. Don't need him as a pass-catcher out of the backfield, we got Allen. He's the smallest of our TEs. He is good on STs but Juice needs a niche to fill.

    It's called fullback...

  10. I think he's got it right. While I love to watch Raven's D, I have always believed O is the best D. This year I believe the Raven's have the O to prove my belief. I see a dominate short yardage O with a combination of Running and Short Passing to take the team down the field to keep us competitive, control field position, the clock, and set up several deep passes that give us a 14 point or more lead. Our D will be great as it always is. It's just the O is going to dominate the game.

Offense will win you a few games but you won't win against good teams when it matters, just look at the Colts and Broncos, they have good offenses but when it's time to go against a great defense or even another good offehse they get crushed and embarrassed.

  11. Don't sleep on Melvin, he was thrown into the fire last year during our playoff run, and played well in the playoffs....I really want him to win the #4 CB spot, his size, and tackling ability would be huge for us....And with today's WR's being bigger and faster, the CB's have to keep up with that....He is my sleeper in camp this year to really shine....

If/when we play the Colts in the playoffs he'll be crucial. If all our starting corners are healthy we can use Melvin in Dime packages against the colts often used 4 reciever set.

  12. Everyone is writing off the Steelers, but they do have a legit offense now to compensate for their shredded defense. I could see them still managing a playoff spot even with a terrible defense, a la the colts last year

When our Defense is healthy we destroy their offense(week 2 of last year) and their defense sucks. Not to mention how insanely inconsistent they are(losing the the bucs at home is embarrassing). I just don't see them as a threat.

  13. I agree. They are tentatively my pick for that division. While I am not predicting the demise of Manning, I think last year's slide back from his other-worldly 2013 season is going to continue.

    Chiefs own that division.
