I would be surprised very much if we are even considering using a 1st round pick on Ross.

We aren't meeting with him for no reason lol I just compiled the list based on who I think we like and who is likeliest to be available. I'm thinking it's one of the Bama boys or Ross, especially since we need a returner and a slot receiver which he could fill both roles. But if Bisciotti gets his way I definitely think we will take Tim or Charlton.

    All-in-all good players but:
    1. Ross - already have two speed receivers don't need a 3rd one
    2. Williams - can get in round #2
    3. Humphrey - is in the running but likely available in the 20's
WR Davis & Williams - have to be at top of their board
Edge Rushers Barnett, McKinley, Charlton and Harris would be my order of preference
OT is only taken if the Rvens trade back into the 20's in order to get more picks in rounds 2 and 3.

My top 3 are:: Williams, Barnett, Davis if we stay at #16. if they are gone, trade back and get one of the others noted because at least 4-5 of them will be drafted/available in the 20's,

Of this isn't who I want, these are the likely players we pick at 16 or in a trade back.

  3. I wish the draft would just get here already so that the speculation could just end.

The likliest positions we take first is undeniably going to be either rusher or receiver. That is where the value will be and that is where we will have a chance at the top prospects in those groups.

I Think there are two players that have the potential to fall to us by some miracle at 16, which are Barnett and Foster. There's a slight chance it happens due to character for Foster and Athleticism for Barnett.

If those two are off the board I think the most likely pick will be between whichever top receiver is left, whether it be Williams, Davis or Ross, and the most preferred edge rusher after Barnett, which could be Williams, Harris, Charlton, Watt or even McKinley.

Yeah Ross has some crazy quickness and can get separation on just about anyone, people seem to value route running but that is something that can be taught. And it isn't like Ross is Mike Evans in college who pretty much ran streaks and hooks, Ross has some solid moves and could torch NFL guys with his speed and could win underneath against corners afraid of getting beat deep. You will never teach his quickness. Also if the Washington QB could throw a deep ball, his stats would look insane, routinely was battling for underthrown balls on routes he clearly won with. Injuries are my biggest concern with Ross but if his health checks out and that is a big if, I think he could come out of this draft as the best WR.

And I don't think Ross is the guy we need to get or anything, I think there are other positions we need to address and this is a great chance to get ourselves a good edge rusher but I would completely understand us making the pick.

Yes I agree. I'm not campaigning for him, but just stating that the hate for him as a potential pick is unwarranted. I'd rather land Foster, Barnett, Tim or Mike Williams, but there is a chance Ross is BPA. The injuries do concern me, but look at a guy like CJ who had nagging injuries while at Bama but has been great for us.

Well it's not post combine hype he's a big play waiting to happen from anywhere on  the field. There is this misconception about him that he's just a speedy guy where he can actually run all the routes in a route tree look at the film you see that.

Exactly! Thank you lol. The guy is a legit play maker and he will kill people in space at the next level.

What are some thought about Duane Smoot at pick No.16?

Smoot is not really even top 10 in his own positional group. He is pegged as a likely 3rd rounder who will likely go to a 4-3 defense.

I like Ross as well. He is going to be able to separate in the NFL at intermediate range. I would be excited about potential

I know most on here want a jump ball guy that resembles what we had with Boldin and I do too. But I think Williams will be long gone and JuJu could be a great option in round two.

Despite Perriman's and Wallace's speed, they still don't always get open. We need a shift slot receiver that can get open quick with Flacco under duress, which is where Ross could become a crazy explosive security blanket. Imagine having him in the slot with Wallace and Perriman on the outside. If Ross got too much attention in the middle we would have 1 on 1 on the outside all day long.

i hope the front office love barnett as much as i do because then he really could be a superstar for us

as for new orleans - i think the only way they pass up on barnett is if foster/allen are there or they are in love with solomon thomas or one of the corners (they might be - especially if they dont get Malcolm Butler (which they probably wont at this point) - at that point i could see barnett getting past the saints - the browns probably wont take him because they'll have garrett, the cardinals probably wont take him because they have chandler jones franchise tagged and marcus golden who was also a sack artist last year, so that leaves the eagles and the colts - i think the eagles might still take a wide receiver at their pick but they still might not - could also see them taking running back (if cook is there) and the colts really need to emphasise both of their lines (hopefully they pick the offensive side - or defensive tackle rather than end - or they really fall in love with the brute athleticism of takk mckinley/buy into the hype for charlton)

it would take a lot for barnett to fall to 16 but its not out of the realm of possibility which gives me some hope - if a trade up happened it would have to be with the cardinals i think because the browns might not trust on the cards to pass on a qb (which they might want) and beyond that they might not want to trade within the division (fair enough)

Ya I've long mocked Lamp to Indy and I'm sticking to it, but Barnett could still be a tough one to pass. But the Colts know they must give their young franchise QB an actual line to stand behind and taking a Center last year proved that so I would be surprised at all if they took Lamp or Ramcyzk.

  9. Has no one still addressed the elephant in the room? I don't get the hate for Ross, yet everyone thinks he is a guy that isn't that good or only is being discussed because of the combine.

Trust me, I want an edge rusher or a CB first, but if no QBs or Tackles go before us, a lot of talent will be plucked. In the boat of potential picks that are realistic between Humphrey, Robinson, Harris, Williams and Ross, I think that Ross's potential is on par with the rest if not even better.

Obviously he has incredible speed, yet I see some saying he doesn't play quick though🙄 Watch the USC or Cal tape. He has straight line speed and explosive quickness whenever needing to gain separation. Most of the balls thrown to him were often underthrown because he was so quick down field. Don't get me started in open field where he is elusive like AB and Hilton with a nasty stutter step to shake defenders.

In regards to route running, he didn't have many opportunities to go over the middle or run comeback routes, but that is just college for you. If something isn't broke, don't fix it they say and CBs could not keep up with him. Despite that though, when he did comebacks and drag routes he is quick to break back to the ball.

Hands were often on display too as many of his deep balls were contested or swatted at when he had to slow down to catch them and he rarely let that stop him from pulling them in.

Gareon Conley is a bit overhyped, he's very raw and he never uses his hands to jam. He will get eaten alive early in his career

Eaten alive might be a little over the top🙄 lol he does need to improve in that area, but he does have solid off coverage ability and mirrors his receivers quite well without groping them like a lot of other CBs in this class do--e.g., Tre White, Tabor, and Tankersley.

My only real concern outside of his jam is his lackadaisical approach to getting off blocks and making tackles.

Marlon Humphrey is overvalued and I don't like him in the first.

I can see it, but where his strengths are still make him a first round pick likely falling no further than Seattle.

He has length to match up against big receivers; he has solid muscle on his frame to not get bullied by receivers like Dez Bryant and Demariyus Thomas; he has elite deep speed for his size; super aggressive at the LOS; fights through blocks like a man on a mission.

His only weaknesses are that he will likely do better in a zone based scheme, such as in Tampa 2 or Cover 3 heavy defenses like Seattle or Pitt. The main thing he needs to improve on is his anticipation in jump ball scenarios along with his technique of opening up too early. If he were to realize he has the skill set to dictate where the receiver goes by jamming them before opening up his hips, he would be much more successful in man coverage.

  12. The thing with NO is that I 100% believe they will go all defense with their first three picks.

Just think about it, they gave up Cooks who was an explosive receiver for them in exchange for the very last pick in the first. Their mentality has to be that Brees can put up points with whoever he has on the field, especially with the emergence of Michael Thomas.

Saints desperately need help across the board so I think they will go BDPA. Best defensive player available could surprisingly be Foster, Hooker, or even Allen at 11 though so we will see.

If Barnett gets past NO, we're getting him. Cant see Ozzie letting him go 1 pick ahead of us. I'd imagine a trade up at that point with maybe the Eagles where we give up one of our comp comp 3rd or 4th rd pick to move ahead and get him.... they fall back and still get their guy in Cook.

Just my intuition. Dont think we'd give up the ammo needed to leapfrog NO.... but i have a feeling they absolutely LOVE Barnett, and if its just a cpl spots to guarantee getting him -- cant see them passing it up.

Ya it's a tough call. I think Indy desperately needs a pass rusher now and Barnett would make sense so I hope if he does make it past NO that we in fact leap frog Indy with a deal with Philly unless they pull a Dallas like move where they are afraid the one team in between will take their valued RB.

  14. Let's see, this year's reaches will likely be:

Takk McKinley in the top 20. He has a great motor and is athletic, but he is so raw with pass rush technique that I wouldn't want him at 16.

Taco Charlton anywhere from 5th to our pick would be a stretch. Frame is there and one good year of production is too, but I think Barnett, Williams, Harris, maybe even Watt as well, have better skill sets or at least consistency coming out.

John Ross and Cam Robinson are high up on my "do not touch" lists. I don't like either, but thanks to an amazing combine from Ross he will probably go high. Likely to us which would piss me the hell off.

Cam Robinson I don't like either, and if we draft him I'll call for Ozzie's head. Ramcyzk is the superior prospect.

Still don't get the hate for Ross 🤔Didn't the guy just have a 17 touchdown season?

  16. As it stands, here are my thoughts of who I think our pick will be at 16 from likeliest onward.

1.) John Ross--i just think this is his consistent value point and rumor is we have some interest in him based on bringing him in. Random intuition has led me to calling the pick now.

2.) Derek Barnett--i think he is our hopeful pick, but a team like Indy or NO will likely ruin that.

3.) Tim Williams--Bisciotti has made it clear he wants a young dynamic edge rusher, if Ozzie's sources clear Tim, he is likely coming here.

4.) Marlon Humphrey--Bama trend continues, but I think he checks almost every box. He had the size of Jimmy Smith plus even more speed. He is aggressive in the run game and plays well in zone coverage. He has a high ceiling.

5.) Corey Davis--I tend to think he will be gone, but coming from a small school and not having participated in the combine could catapult both Ross and Williams ahead of him.

    2

  17. Zierlein 3.0 has us taking Mike Williams. The mocks are just becoming a joke now though sadly. Most are just trying to throw random round 2-3 guys in early to have the I told you so factor. Trying to pick this year's batch of Eli Apples, Leonard Floyd, EJ Manuel, etc.

The thought of certain guys like White and Awuzie going in the top 15 would blow my mind.

    0

  18. Tim Williams is not even remotely a reach. If there were no red flags from character most people would say he was a lock for top 15.

He needs to keep lean muscle on his frame though while remaining explosive. That 252-55 range would be best. At 240-244 he isn't going to hold the edge as well. I think he's ultra explosive and we could utilize him as we did Dumervil and use him as a pass rush specialist.

  19. This is literally my favorite mock that presents realism with need factored in. Some think Watt is a reach but I have him as top 20 with perhaps some of the most upside in the draft.

Elflein I think is a strong mock choice for most of the board and the second is likeliest place to land a third anchor on our line with Yanda & Stanley.

King is being vastly underrated if you ask me. The guy is one season removed from getting the Jim Thorpe award with 8 picks. He might not be as fluid or have as much speed as guys like Lattimore, Conley, Humphrey, etc., But he is a Football Player! The guy makes plays and he does it with a major edge. Physical, solid tackler, great ball skills, is great in zone and press, plus he has natural instincts. Minus straight line speed and pure mirroring skills, King will be a play maker.

I like Charles Harris, but I like Carl Lawson more (way more after watching highlights again just now). And Lawson is going later in the draft.
Carl Lawson is easily one of the strongest, nastiest, and toughest football players I've ever seen. Go watch his tape please! He's insane!!!
I think Ju Ju Smith and Carl Lawson are MUST grabs for the Ravens. Long term and short term fixes in so many ways. Kinda looks like they're both going in the second at this point, but who knows. This draft is insane. So many of the second rounders this year would be high first rounders in a lot of drafts imo

I love Lawson, so much potential. His injury history just scares the heck out of me unless we got him in the second. Talent alone warrants a top 20 pick.

I agree. I would love to move back 5-10 spots and take him. While grabbing maybe an extra second and fourth. So much first round talent going in the second round this year. Ju Ju Smith is exactly what we need now, and to pair with Perriman for the future.
In any other draft, this would sound pretty ridiculous, but I'm hoping we can get 3 immediate starters/impact players by the end of round 2 this year. And that "Doom role" qualifies as a starter role imo. It's a crucial one.
    A couple examples would be
    pick 24: Charles Harris
    pick 47: Ju Ju Smith
    pick 56: Chidobe Awuzie

    pick 19: Ryan Ramczyk
    pick 47: Carl Lawson
    pick 50: Ju Ju Smith

Then add Ethan Pocic in the third in either scenario and boom, our team is ready to take down anyone

Either way, I think it's pretty clear we're going to add some defense/pass rusher pretty high in the draft. I think us fans are in for a treat next year when it comes to the Defense

I am all about getting the extra picks this year. We just need someone valuable sitting at 16 that we don't exactly need from a positional standpoint.

The thing this year is there are at least 50 players that could go in the first so I just want as many picks as possible early. Guys like Harris and Tim Williams are needed, but could they possibly be there in the second? They might.

    1

  22. It depends. First, we gotta evaluate whether QBs are coming off the board or not. If we get to pick 12 and no QBs have gone yet, the targeted talent pool is likely to be tapped.

Secondly, we have to assess if there are any trade back options on the table.

If the browns pick at 12 and there still isn't a QB off the table, we will need to assess who is left and whether they are worth calling Arizona or Philadelphia to move up to take a designated player. If Davis, Williams, Barnett or Foster are there, I'd be game to trade up a few by giving up no more than a fourth or our third round comp--which would still be very steep to me.

In this draft though, i would love to have teams like the Giants and Buccaneers looking to trade up for Cook, McCaffrey, Ross, or Howard so that we could get extra third and fourth round picks while still having the chance to land prospects like Robinson, Harris, Tim Williams, Reddick, Conley, etc.

I'm not sure - either way, unless there's a ridiculous run on corners then I think one of Wilson, Conley, white, Jackson, Moreau, awuzie could be in range of our 2nd round pick

Right now, the two groups that the league as a whole needs better talent at are offensive lineman and corners. With the talent in this year's class, I could see a lot of teams, especially before our second pick, taking a CB.

As I see it, here is a list of worthy corners that could be taken in the first or second:

Lattimore, Humphrey, Jones, Conley, White, Awuzie, Wilson, Tabor, Lewis, Tankersley and Jackson. 11 really good corners.

Now let's think who really needs one. Titans will have two shots at one. Jets will have two chances to replace Revis. Panthers still need a proven CB. Saints need CB and will have three shots at taking too guys early. AZ drafts twice and needs a piece across from Peterson. Browns have two legit shots too. Eagles need a legit corner....The list could go on and on. I won't be surprised if the position is cleaned out by pick 50.
