YOU say injuries on D killed us...
Â
the question is: who besides Suggs has been injured and not properly replaced? Yeah because if you mention Canty I'd say Lawrence Guy replaced him more than honorably...
Â
Will Davis (former Dolphins CB) is the only other D player that was making strides in the little time he played before killing his knee...
Â
Other injuries on D???
I mean out of all the players we could have lost, Suggs was by far the most valuable! His leadership and IQ gets the team in the right mind set. And his ability to shut down the run and get after the QB and draw 2 blockers allows other pass rushers, particularly Doom or blitzing backers to have an easy job getting to the Qb. This then translates to the play of our secondary, even though they are pretty darn bad--playing wise, Â not really a talent issue--the difference between a QB having 2-3 seconds to throw and 4-6 seconds is huge. The best way to mask a bad secondary is to make the pass rush ferocious! Missing Suggs took a huge element away from our D. I think in the draft we take BPA in either the pass rush department or secondary. Sometimes doubling down on a position can be great too. Look at the Panthers drafting Star and Short back to back, that helped their D-line tremendously. Or the jags taking Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns. We know where our weakness is and we need to fix it.Â
Ahh come on dude... What have you been watching this season? Anytime we play a solid offense pees has no confidence in our defense... He will constantly play 10-15 yards off the ball in ANY AND ALL SITUATIONS it could be third and two and hes calling off coverage... And we are STILL getting beat deep. You had me all the way up until you said cough lewis... Lewis is not a bad player... Sure he dropped the ball in jacksonville but ever since he returned from that knee injury he has been playing solid football... I'm tired of people bashing on him for his horrible first 6 weeks... Stew did the exact same thing last year finished the year strong like k Lew has and is now a top safety in the league.
I guess us fans are being little tough on him, but I guess that is what happens when we are all used to having the best center fielder to ever play. I think he is a good player, but when I watch the deep ball get flung down field I feel as if he isn't ever back in coverage or he is so far away from the ball that he doesn't have a chance to make a play on it. At this point I feel it's time to get a new coordinator so that we can see where the real problem is or was.Â
All I'm saying is that Jalen Ramsey at FS alongside Hill would be great! He's athletic, quick, strong, and has a knack for being around the ball. We need someone that is at least knows the ball is in the air during passing plays lol
At this point after watching every game. It isn't just one person's fault when something bad happens. On offense, we obviously would have liked to have been healthy. I think Trestman deserves another shot because he wasn't terrible, in fact our offense for as lackluster as it is with injuries has still put up yards, but I hated watching him abandon the run in numerous games earlier in the season.I'm pray SSS comes back and Perriman is still who we thought he was and if a valuable vet comes available in FA lets get them because we have some nice rotational guys, just need a difference maker that will allow those guys to have less pressure on them. Aiken and Butler have looked formidable.
On Defense, I think injuries have killed us, but Pees always seems to call the worst kind of plays. And it doesn't help that our lack of a pass rush has led to our corners getting torched or having their coverage break down, which is never helped by a competent FS either lol. I just want the good ol days of a solid 5 man rush and man on man coverage with both of our safeties roaming looking to help the corners or make a play on the ball....2016 hopefully
My quick little 2016 wish list:
1.) That everyone comes back healthy, Flacco, Sizzle, Forsett, Perriman, Zuttah, SSS for an actual farewell tour
2.) We find an aggressive D coordinator that can develop talent.
3.) We address the holes in the draft, as I see it we need major help in the secondary and pass rush departments
I'm praying for Bosa, HGIII, or Ramsey, who I think will be a legit FS! Because god we need one.
4.) Sign Tucker and KO, plus make him LT and send Monroe anywhere for a pick!
5.) We land some awesome vets that will contribute. Some of the recent ones have been, well not the greatest, cough Arrington cough Lewis...
Soooo Ramsey or Hargreaves III if Bosa is gone? I think so
Yesterday proved that KO is far too valuable to let go! Did anyone see him dominant? He can play LT and LG and we are possibly thinking he is out of our price range? I know it's early but getting a stellar LT is harder than a guard, which if we signed KO and traded Monroe, it would be a lot more realistic to get another top-tier guard in the 2nd round if needed as opposed to LTs going in the top 10 every year....just my thoughts....Pay the man!
I hope you become what most of us thought Brown would be, a big-bodied WR that Joe can thread the needle to and can make big plays! Welcome to the family
Ozzie pay the man! a violent blocker, say no more. A Raven by definition.
For us to dominate offensively and defensively and to lose by 2 is nothing short of aggrivating. But let's not lie to ourselves, even with our starters healthy we were failing to punch the ball from the 5-10 yard line all year. Settling for fgs can lose you games when you're facing elite talent, but when it's a dog fight against an inferior opponent sometimes you just are better off taking the points.
We're seeing some real nice development in players though!
How to stop Suh...have Yanda pick him up off his feet again and drive him several yards backwards! haha Go Ravens. Still absolutely love this team. They have proved so much by saying they will never quit and that they're doing it for Harbaugh, the organization, and the fans. This is where we develop depth and see who can really develop!
The Rams style of play is dirty and we obviously have all seen it. Also, Monroe is as brittle as it gets. He gets hurt at least every other game. Hurst as his backup is even worse, but I hope we don't dedicate a first round pick on a T. I think there are much more valuable picks in the top 10 that can contribute quickly. Just look how long recent early tackles have taken to develop. Greg Robinson and Fisher anyway haven't really blossomed well, but their teams were desperate.
Brandon Williams is an animal and a pillar to rebuild this great defense. With him, Mosley, hill, a healthy JS, Jernigan, and guy we have a pretty solid young group of players. I'm praying, absolutely praying we land Bosa or Ramsey in the first. We need tier 1 talent to make this defense a top 5 unit again
Lol the people thinking we would ever give up on Flacco for Kap are crazy. I'd rather have Flacco throwing passes from a wheelchair before we had Kap and his salary on this team. Eventually any iron man will get hurt, but it sucks that it was this injury. Get well Flacco and put on your Christmas list that you would like Perriman, SSS, back and maybe a new toy in the draft. 2016 will be our redemption
Upshaw is vastly under appreciated. He does a lot of dirty work and it's great to see him get a little flow of rushing the passer.
We officially can state that we were cursed by either a Steelers or Patriots fan after last post-season. I've never seen such an unfortunate year in Baltimore....Ever.
All around he might be my favorite Raven ever. He was a class act and played on a whole different level for a majority of his career. I always hoped he would have stayed healthy enough to break the INT record, but given the time he played in and the respect some of the greatest QBs and coaches of all time have given him, I think suffice for the GOAT label.
P.S. That 2011 AFC championship should've been the game that got us to back to back championships. I will swear by that forever.
Oh ya and I'm thinking with the production of McPhee and Taylor, we might just get a 3rd rounder as well, but we'll see. There are some real interesting prospects going early. I'm praying to god that we are in a position to get Bosa, Ramsey, Hargreaves III, earlyu because they can all flat out ball. Either making our pass rush better or giving us a high IQ cover corner. And if Fournette slides into the second half of the first round I would love for us to sacrifice a pick to get the second coming of Jamal Lewis. He's a monster and behind our line we will have some attitude.
On the Flacco turnovers, some are certainly his fault, but many are not. Denver=horrible pick 6, but he did hit SSS in the hands at the end and put the ball in a manageable plave for Gilmore to catch it. Oakland=He tore it up for the most part except overthrowing SSS at the end which could've led to OT Cincy=Great 2nd half Pitt= God awful mistakes but he delivered when it mattered. the strip sack was almost predictable, plus the interception in the flat was a pure did he just throw that moment. Niners= The worst interception ever, why he did't throw it out of bounds instead of at the FS is beyond me. But he did hit SSS twice in the hands in the end zone Browns= just no weapons and he had a pretty solid game. Cardinals= He was robbed lol, not too bad of a game considering the opponent and it being on the road. SD= Great Game. Jax= ehhh. Fumble comes from him not having the greatest of pocket awareness when the pressure is near him. As for the interceptions, one was on the WR and the other was a bit underthrown. I love Flacco and he's our QB, I just hope we get him some more legit talent to go along with our budding TE core. My only knock on him at times is that he NEVER climbs the pocket to escape pressure or to make a play, but instead he loves to roll backwards 15 yards and either get sacked there or he chucks the ball downfield with 0 accuracy. Still love him tho.
Brooks has all the tools to be very good, if he's making any mental errors I wouldn't look much further than Pees to blame for that lol We need a quick safety that can cover the field. SO far Lewis is a ghost every time we see the ball chucked down field.
I pray that on offense we get SSS for a legit last ride, Perriman makes a tremendous splash and we nab another savvy vet receiver. Maybe even 3rd round pick on one. I'm curious to see Fournette and Elliot's draft stock on draft day. If they fell to bottom of the first, especially Fournette, I'd hope oz would move back into first round to get them.
On defense, please bring sizzle back with full health, also Pees has to go, Bosa early in rd 1 would be a gift from God too, if not, Ramsey or Hargreaves III would significantly help our blowing coverages every game streak. We need some nasty players to lay the hammer and some intelligent cover corners so that we can quit blowing 4th quarter leads.
2016 we will be reloaded and ready to go
I'd have to say webby has been playing better ball this season. He just struggles against quick large receivers I feel like, and he has always played off the receivers because he used to use quickness and instincts to make plays, but every game I feel he takes an additional foot backwards pre-snap lol
Between out trio of blossoming TE and a hopeful year of redemption for Perriman, I pray SSS comes back plus we add another vet receiver or young play maker in the 2nd to 3rd round. Even Aiken and givens are great complimentary pieces, but if Perriman is the real deal, everyone will look better. Speedy recovery to you breshad
Hill is adversitial and knows how to show some teeth for this defense. We need a few more bullies on D like Hill.

This obsession over the top pick is nonsense. I just want Ozzie to not trade back because he covets a guy that he thinks is sliding. In all reality I don't expect that, but I just want a top 5-7 pick! Number one picks can easily be over hyped. Just look at the 2014 draft. Clowney went #1, while Mack (who Ray Ray said should have went first I remember) and Donald went after him and both turned out to be massive game changers, whether it's getting 5 sacks or intentionally breaking arms smh. The only pick I really really want is Bosa, but I feel he is a 4-3 DE, which I could be wrong because on tape the guy is as versatile as they come when lining up. But if we get HGIII, Ramsey, or even Nkemdiche, that would be great.
