Humphrey scares the crap out of me. Of all the people we might take, I really hope we don't take him.

I think he has a lot of positive traits, but you have to remember he is really young still and a lot of his problems relates to coachable technique. When he is in zone or keeps the play in front of him, he is a stud. He just needs improving on opening up too early. Would be a solid pick between 15-20

My only concerns on the list are Ross. He look tiny and in the NFL, he may get beat up in the middle. Lawson reminds me of Upshaw.

He is 5'10-11 but guess what, TY Hilton and AB are in that range and kill defenses on a regular basis. Speed kills and so does great route running. Those are two huge things we need. Perriman is fast and a big target, but he has shaky hands and abysmal route running abilities. Ross has fast acceleration as well with great routes

  3. With a long off-season still ahead, there is a lot that will happen with this offense. In regards to the draft though, just think that this draft could go completely offensive if the board stacks that way.

We could very well land Davis or Williams and have a solid receiving core with speed demons Wallace and Perriman and a possession /50-50 ball receiver in Mike Williams or Corey Davis. We then land an anchor on the line like Pat Elflein or Dan Feeney in the second and bam, we all of a sudden are looking to have some serious potential, especially if our crowded TE core finally shines.

  4. We are so much closer to an elite defense than offense, which is exactly why I hope we load up on defense and take two Mauler on OL and roll into the season. We have a defense that can stuff the run.

We got two experienced guys added to the secondary with Carr and Jefferson.

ILB will be like every other year, we will find one in the rough.

We have some solid talent with Williams, Jernigan, Mosley, J. smith, Young, Weddle, Suggs, and Jefferson. If we were to add a dynamic rusher like Barnett, Tim Williams or even Charles Harris and grabbed a pair of physical corners like Kevin King or Tre White with Rasul Douglas or Desmond King, we would be knocking on the door of elite.

  5. I freaking wish we had the draft pick haul we had last year. We would have so much ammo to trade up. I wouldn't mind trading back twice again this year, whether in the first or second, as long as there were no crazy good players sitting there.

Imagine acquiring an additional third and fourth. We would be able to pick someone in mid to late twenties, such as Reddick, Cam Robinson, Tim Williams or Charles Harris, then we would have a second, three third rounders and two fourths.

That could seriously yield a massive overhaul of talent. I expect some talented guys in the second to be there like Dan Feeney, Dion Dawkins, Pat Elflein, Kevin King, Ryan Anderson, Jourdan Lewis, Tankersley, etc.

Then we would have a haul in the third with guys like Asiata, Desmond King, Taylor Moton, Ethan Pocic, D'onta Foreman, Rasul Douglas.

  6. Trade bait, Cook and Ross are prime candidates. But I'd also say that OJ Howard might be as well if he is there. It just doesn't seem likely though. I highly dislike that Indy and Philly are in front of us. Both teams need MLB, hence Foster's slide potential might not go that far. They also both need CB, hence after Lattimore is taken, they could take Conley and Humphrey.

  7. I mean I know we are all hopeful that Barnett, Davis, Williams or Foster slide down to us, but being realistic, they might be all be gone along with Fournette, Hooker, Allen, Adams, Soloman Thomas, etc.

We then have a batch of questionable players. Frankly, I don't know who I would choose. If no one is looking to come up. Who is the pick at 16? Can Robinson? TJ Watt? Tim Williams? Marlon Humphrey? Charles Harris?

I think Tim Williams is starting to rise right back up there. He seems mature and outside of a mediocre championship game, he has a wicked burst off the line and an arsenal of rush moves.

yeah i always find that the ravens are near the cut off for a particular tier of talent - or at least it felt that way the last 3/4 years - you cant be choosy when you are kind of near the back end of a tier of talent because you just have to take the guy who falls into your lap no matter the position - it happened with mosley, it happened with perriman, i reckon it happens this year - stanley is the outlier just because of how close to the top of the draft we were drafting and the fact that two qbs were guaranteed to go 1 and 2 last year

It's basically impossible at 16. I have a hunch that two QBs go and at least one or two Eli Apple and Leonard Floyd like picks happen. Which to me, I think that Foster or Barnett are there. Worst case scenario I think that Davis or Ross are there, but I'd rather trade back.

There is no chance this team, based on what they have done and can feasibly do in the future, can make the playoffs. There is no offensive line and no playmakers. No pass rushers either. Sorry this can't all be recitified in the draft unless ozzie hits on every single pick which has never happened and won't happen. Wasted money on a overrated run stuffer. The only upgrade has been Jefferson. We downgraded on our O line RT. We havent improved, we are exactly the same last year with a worse offense.

The defense will be far better. Mark my words. We didn't lose anyone on D besides Doom, but I can almost guarantee we take a nasty more effective rusher like Tim Williams or Charles Harris. CB is so deep this year that a lot of guys like Moreau, Tankersley, Sutton, White, Lewis, would all go easily 1st in almost any class. This one is stacked and that's why I think Ozzie takes a top ranked receiver or edge guy now that we have added Jefferson and Carr. plus, after Lattimore the hierarchy is really tough at CB especially after Sidney Jones got hurt.

I hope Claiborne gets more elsewhere or just chooses to stay in dallas, and saves us from another horrible and desperate FA signing. And the other negative, is they will probably pass over getting a good quality corner in the draft if they sign him, thinking they have solved their corner problems. Would much rather see that invested in young talent in round 1-2. They need at least 2 more quality corners, because Smith is completely over rated and often injured. With Smith, Young, Claiborne (or another vet), and a high draft pick, they would have 4 decent corners to fill 3 spots. There is essentially no other viable corner on the roster.

You are nuts dude. Smith is top 5-10 when healthy. His rough style of play just often ends up getting him banged up. Also, young had a great rookie year.

  11. People don't see Ross as a safe prospect but besides possible injuries, the guy is well rounded as it gets. His route running is underrated and it reminds me of AB. He is also faster than AB too. If he gets Flacco to bounce back, he could be an insane weapon. Most of his highlight catches came after having to slow down because the balls were underthrown.

We use him in the slot and he will rip up defenses. Especially if we can upgrade the run game.

If I'm honest I doubt we take an offensive lineman but I'd be interested if we did take Robinson to see if they shift him or Lewis to right tackle... I know they see Lewis as a guard but he performed ok in a pinch at left tackle and I think part of the reservations about him playing right tackle have to come from him always playing the left side of he line in college and the pros and that switch being more difficult - I could see them backtracking on Lewis as only a LG if they give him an entire training camp - as it is I doubt this becomes a dilemma because I doubt we pick a lineman in the first few rounds unless it's elflein or pocic as a centre or moron at guard or Dawkins as a right tackle

I agree. Likely the only picks we take on the line will come between round 2 and 3

I think you are underselling conley's ceiling a bit - he confirmed he has the deep speed and fluid hips and back pedal to be a successful outside corner and has some phenomenal tape - he trailed Mike Williams all over the field vs Clemson and showed really well despite being on the same team as lattimore - he has ideal length as well and he uses that length to make plays on the ball in the air which he does well because he consistently is able to turn his head and find the football

Marlon Humphrey is someone I initially didn't like as a prospect but have slowly come around on - his coverage skills still worry me a lot, and his lack of ball skills on film were not ideal although he did well in the ball skill drills at the combine - I dunno, I worry about Humphrey a little bit albeit I see a lot of good things in his game that will definitely translate well in the NFL and there is definitely something attractive about his confrontational play style

It is an unpopular idea, but Conley could be the pick at 16. As you have stated, he has a good resume and checked off all of the boxes at the combine.

  15. Some think he still goes in the first but no way. He likely goes in the second. He will be the Jaylon Smith of this year and a team like Dallas will take him. If I was the GM, I would struggle in whether or not to pick the him at 47 because I think he is the best in class pre-injury.

Based on Ozzie's off-season moves, I think he is in win now mode and won't like to wait. If we were to take a non CB talent, such as Barnett, Davis, Foster, or Harris, I would love to see us take another first round talent in the second then move up from the third to take Jones after securing two major puzzle pieces.

A home run draft would be landing Barnett, then someone like Elflein, Moreau or Chidobe, then coming back into the second to grab Jones so we could stash him away.

I love Conley but I would definitely be surprised if he gets taken ahead of Quincy Wilson and marlon Humphrey who also both had pretty good combines themselves - it's funny though, I want to be right in my love for Conley but also kind of want to be wrong so that we can land him in the 2nd - he and Barnett are my two draft darlings

its funny how much the analysts overlook guys like Moreau early in the draft process because guys like Jeremiah have come out and said he's a first round talent in the last couple of weeks and yet before the combine he was supposedly a late 3rd round guy in the same prospect realm as Rasul Douglas and just ahead of guys like Damontae kazee (who I really like), chidobe awuzie (who also might now go in the 2nd round and Jeremiah had go in the 1st in his most recent mock), and akhello Witherspoon

and going back to Edgar's mock, as much as I really like elder in the 4th, you're right he is a lot like tavon young, if someone like kazee was also available there then I'd have a tough time taking elder in stead

and just another note: just like with Humphrey and watt, I think it's more likely you get Darreus rogers in the 5th and Jon Toth in the 6th

The NFL is now a space game where everyone spreads out and matches their superstars v their opponents. With that being said, I think teams deeply prioritize CBs early. DJ has had some really horrific mocks so I don't put too much weight into them. I think that Lattimore, Humphrey, Wilson, Conley and White go in the first with Tabor possibly still sneaking in for Seattle.

In the second guys like Moreau, Chidobe, Lewis, Tankersley, Jones, will rip off the board early after the teams that skipped on CBs early in the first will take advantage of the value left in the second.

I can see cam robinson more and more as a potential player for us at 16 as long as we are drafting him to be a guard because he looks like a top 15 guy at guard - I'm not sure I feel as good about forest lamp as most people on these boards... his short arms really bother me for some reason and I'm not sure he's a top 16 player but I'll admit I haven't majorly adjusted my board yet since the re-signing of Brandon Williams, the signing of Jefferson and woodhead (with dixon's suspension) and the injury to Sidney jones - however I still don't see forest lamp's value that high at the moment

That is the question though, do Harbaugh and Ozzie think Lewis could kick out to EAT or would they rather fill in Robinson at Guard and keeping Lewis for depth? Robinson is a violent run blocker, but is clunky in pass pro, but the key to turning around our offense is a power run game. Robinson could be the answer.

Lamp might not be value at 16 due to the potential of other players being there like Barnett, Davis, Humphrey, etc , but I think Lamp is a great player. His short arms are no worry. He is a super crafty and physical blocker and I think he is a little similar to Yanda.

  18. Okay before the I hurt to Jones I was holding out that he would be our guy. Now that he is gone, there seems to be three guys that could fit.

Who do you guys like the most between.

    1. Marlon Humphrey

    2. Gareon Conley

    3. Quincy Wilson

The buzz on Wilson has cooled and a lot of mocks don't even have him in the first after the combine, which might make him a round 2 steal. For me It comes down to Hump vs Conley.

Conley has a moderately high floor and projects to be an above average corner. He killed the combine as far as I am concerned and he is better than most give him credit for. He got overshadowed by Hooker and Lattimore. Very solid in coverage but lacks aggressiveness.

Humphrey to me is a Jimmy Smith clone, but I think Smith was a bit more sticky coming out of college. I think besides Lattimore, Humphrey had the highest ceiling. His ultra aggressive style screams Baltimore. He plays no games in shedding blocks and coming in to make tackles. He has the deep speed to keep up and the length to cover. If he improves his jam and is more patient in opening up, he will be able to more often than not, dictate where the receivers can go on each play.
