  1. If we let Wagner and Williams go I will lose all faith in this franchise and our ability to retain talent. Especially knowing Williams would probably take a minor discount. Probably 1-1.25 million off per year. The next man up mentality works mid season when you don't have any other options, but we have gotten used to putting blind faith in players that have barely shined for a brief period of time. Davis and Henry haven't proven a thing and Pierce flashed but is that enough to let the potential lynchpin in our elite run defense go?
  2. No chance we would give Williams $11 million a year. I also wouldn't advice letting go of Wagner then cutting Zuttah too. His cap savings isn't enough for his experience. Last thing we need is a rookie at center and RT.
  3. Depending on how much they got paid, but it is plausible to expect at least one for Williams if he hit FA.
  4. Ya we should be fine with cap, at least not poor as it gets anyway lol I just said 30 as a bare minimum but it could be much higher. Everyone is hating on Webb and we could just cut him or ask him to take another pay cut, which he already has, but with that scenario we have more dead money and an extreme need at a critical position. Webb might not be as fast as he used to be but he was actually solid for most of the year. He made his open field tackles and was around the ball when it was in his direction. when I say extend, I mean adding an additional year to spread his big hit this year so it isn't that much and then we will save more next year if we cut him. If we don't sign Jefferson, Berry, or a top 3 safety in the draft, such as Adams, Hooker or Baker, it could be a long day with another slow vet or mid round rookie trying to pick up the playbook.
  5. He has all the tools and has made some big plays, but his tape isn't as impressive as everyone is talking it up to be lol Bama ran the ball so much that most college defenses brought everyone up to the LOS on practically every play. On most of Howard's big plays--the ones everyone is drooling over--there was simply busted coverage. Or it was a pass to the flat v zone coverage where there was essentially no one in sight. There aren't too many acrobatic catches or plays where he was burning defenders in man coverage. There weren't too many crazy catches in tight Windows either. However, He doesn't seem to ever drop the passes which is good and his QB play was pretty abysmal, But after watching 4 different videos on him plus a lot of Bama games, I don't see this godsend game changer everyone else sees lol
  6. Ya because Ozzie is that shrewd negotiator that come In with a unrealistic first offer. I expect the next one to be 8ish and if that is declined we will see ya later Wagner. A very good pass protector, but he is a mediocre run blocker. I couldn't justify $9 millions year for a one dimensional blocker.
  7. I love Sidney jones. Pocic looks to be a great player, but I hope he continues to win leverage battles in the pros like he did at LSU. If we got those two it would be great. Def would need to address pass rush early though. At least by the third
  8. I have Sidney Jonea ahead of Lattimore basically because of Lattimore's chronic injury history while Jones has been a model of consistency. He is Mayock's top CB and we would be foolish to pass on him. Lawson is good, but his injuries combined with his slender lower body and questionable effectiveness of his bull rush at the next level, I just could not justify taking a fringe 1st round player at 16.
  9. Draft is not bad, but it is for some reason how I envision it going. Despite all of the talent and depth at CB and Edge, Ozzie will wait until the mid rounds to address those areas and will take value picks at others positions. Eiflein pick is a HR. I love his style of play and if we had a line that looked like: Stanley, Lewis, Eiflein, Yanda, Wagner. we would have a great balance and the offense would make a Great Leap Forward. A lot of people have stated that Howard might be the best player on the board at 16 and I say there is no chance on this earth that he would in fact be the best player left. He is talented, but we have a bunch of young guys that aren't even through their developing years at TE. Plus the glaring need at CB and Edge makes it almost unfathomable that we prioritize a TE over those positions:
  10. Very true. Baker I think is going to blow up the combine and be a legit first rounder. Peppers is so polarizing but Bucky Brooks did a great piece on him today and it made sense. He is a Swiss Army knife and he has all the tools to be a game changer in a chess match, as long as the coordinator and HC can be creative and use him effectively. If we landed either and gained a second or third in the process then we will be in fine shape.
  11. Solid. I hated the Robinson idea for a while, but I think he will project to be an elite Guard. Is easily trade back 6-10 picks if Robinson was the guy. Walker is a solid rusher but not flashy. I wonder how else would play in our system though. I think White is gone too, but Conley, Lewis, or maybe even dare say Wilson will be there in the second.
  12. We could very easily clear $15 million in space, plus the cap ceiling will rise by at least $12 million meaning we could very likely have $30 million in space. I hope we retain Williams, Wagner, juice and Guy, but we likely only sign Williams or Wagner. Let's extend Webb and Wallace and clear up more space. FA wish list, trying to stay practical: Marshall, if he gets released Lawrence Timmons Kevin Minter Pierre Garçon Logan Ryan
  13. How awesome would it be to steal Lawrence Timmons from the Steelers? It's highly unlikely, but if we don't get deals done with Williams or Wagner by the 8th then Ozzie better gear up to make a few splashes. Steelers will have to easily pay Brown a deal worth $12 million a year, if not more. I wouldn't be surprised if Bell played on the tag either at the $13 million marker. His injury concerns could make it hard to give bell a big time deal, but his production while healthy could easily command +$10 million a year.
  14. The cap is also expected to go up by 12-15 million. I think the first thing to make space is resign Wallace and Webb. Get them on 2 yr extensions. They both played well last year and with a resign we can get cap hits down by at least $4-6 million. Then cut the glut, see ya Watson, Arrington, Wright, Lewis, likely doom too. at bare minimum we save $15-18 million with those moves and are $30 million in cap space. Resign Juice, Guy, then either Williams or Wagner. Whoever we get the better deal done with. There is a 25% chance we sign both. Then we can target some decent FA players and cap casualties. Jefferson would be nice as would Minter from AZ. Heck even Marshall would be great.
  15. Lol that 10 million a year number came from an estimation from some dope on NFL.com. if Ozzie can get him 5 Yr deal around $38-43 million with half guaranteed, I think he can seal the deal.
  16. Lol Ozzie has been slipping lately but Upshaw wasn't a bust. He was a solid edge setter that filled the JJ role. Stanley looks really good and I expect we will get a really good player at 16 this year. Sometimes it comes down to coaching as well to assess how could of a player they're or could have been
  17. I agree with this on so many levels lol if he gets taken by someone ahead of us and we will get lucky and get someone great. Takk isn't a bad prospect, I just think he will get overdrafted. He is a legit top 30-35 player. He has decent burst, great athleticism and motor with decent run stopping abilities, but he is too raw to tell how he will develop at the next level. That is not something I would get caught up in if I am drafting 16 and looking for a plug and play talent.
  18. I agree 100%. That's why I think the only way I would trade up is if it was affordable and he made it by some miracle to the Bills pick and we only had to give up a combo of a third and later pick. Still unlikely, but with this year's crop of defensive players, we could land starters and great rotational guys well into the 4th round.
  19. Lol so you don't think the rushers are that good this year? There might not be a Clowney and Mack going in the top 5, but this year's class is definitely deep with guys that can get home. Garrett obviously is off the table but he is an all-pro waiting to happen. Barnett broke Reggie White's school record at Tennessee. He is highly productive and might not be the fastest or the strongest, yet he has shown impressive strength, but he is perhaps the most technically sound rusher with perfect bend around the edge. Also is highly reliable in his run duties. Tim Williams is still climbing the ladder and his get off is crazy. He actually improved in run defense this year, but regardless, odd you need someone to get to the QB, he will be a very good option. He just needs to improve on counter moves because when the OT gets his hands on him and his spin or rip moves don't work he gets pushed way outside the pocket. He could be a 9 wide kinda rusher. Harris has the best first step and spin move in the class. He lacks in other areas but he will give OTs trouble. McKinley I'm not overly impressed with, but he is a high motor effort kinda player that could take off with proper coaching. Soloman Thomas is a high IQ rusher that can go inside or out and can make lineman look silly with his crafty ways of getting to the QB. He is a slightly less physically gifted Aaron Donald doppelgänger. Taco Charlton is another big rusher that wins with strength and technique. I am not sold on him yet but he has all the tools to be very good. I don't look Smoot or Walker, but in a 4-3 they could be nice rotational guys.
  20. You also have to mention that those mid to late round picks don't carry much weight in trade up scenarios in early rounds. A third or 4th might give you a boost in the second, but in the first you're looking at a minimum of a third rounder to move up a few spots. To move from 6th to 4th, Cowboys wanted a third. I do agree we could get a starting caliber corner well into the third round, but by no means would I ever take a TE in the first--I know it was for example, but I'd more easily take Feeney or Robinson and feel comfortable that they will come in and make a difference day 1.
  21. Ya you could trade up if he got to the bills at 10, but I think it's highly unlikely. Trading up into top 10 is too expensive when the draft is this deep to begin with. Jax, Tennessee, SD, Carolina even Buffalo could all use a safety
  22. If we traded back to 22-26, hopefully got a second rounder, if not a third and grabbed baker, I'd go pretty stoked.
  23. Adams is third on my big board pre combine and that won't change afterwards. After Garrett and Allen idk if there is a more well rounded talent.
  24. The difference is those picks are definite first round selections where Conley would likely only be a second round pick for us. Conley however has better pure coverage skills than either corner In my opinion, Tabor and Humphrey are both physical but the way they held people in college will result in easy penalties in the pros. Tabor has the better ball skills where Hump is a better tackler and better at shedding blocks. neither would be great picks at 16, but decent ones, where Conley would be a crazy good value in the second.
  25. Ramczyk had a major injury to his hip I'm pretty sure. I wouldn't touch him with our first even if we traded back. Westbrook is solid though. However, Douglas, Tomlinson and Perine would be great value picks.
