Was wondering when he was going to be discussed. Little surprised he's being placed in those rounds. He abused Adoree' Jackson in the Rose Bowl. From what I saw, Godwin looks really good. Good size, strong, good route runner, good speed, really good hands. Would love it if we could get him in rounds 3 or 4 

Ejuan Price is a nuisance, and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. Idk what his measurements are, but the guy is disruptive and was very productive.

Someone's getting a steal with Stacy Coley. Needs to gain a little weight and to stop "getting hurt" after falling down after every play, but the dude is a baller. Very polished WR who can play outside or in the slot. Very smooth in his movements, very good route runner, pretty good hands. Always balled out against FSU. Very good at making the jump/semi-errant throws that Brad Kaaya would throw him. Very versatile player who scored on returns, housed a reverse against Pitt his freshman year I think, screens, etc. Also has significantly improved blocking from freshman year to now. For those looking for more prolific numbers from him, they can be attributed to Al Golden, injuries, and Brad Kaaya (at times). Off the field, there are some very minor "character issues" associated with him stemming from high school, but I honestly don't really know what they are as he never got in any trouble, at least that I can think of. Was rumored to be involved with some rental car thing that got 2 Miami players kicked off the team this season, but I guess had nothing to do with it.  

I like Westerkamp, too. Dependable WR who has good hands from what I've seen. Just don't think he's that explosive. 

Whitfield is fast as hell. Thought he would just be a returner, but turned out to be not so shabby of a WR either.

Jamal Carter should not and probably will not be drafted. Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane. Was the worst starter on the Miami defense. Can neither tackle nor cover. Maybe if gained a little weight, could move to LB, but I still think he would struggle. Takes bad angles, tends to overpursue, doesn't tackle properly, and generally looks lost out there. I usually go easy on players who were at Miami during Al Golden's tenure because the defensive scheme wasn't player friendly, but Jamal Carter just isn't that good. Even under Manny Diaz, who revived Miami's defense, Carter still stood out in a bad way. Rayshawn Jenkins is the better safety between he and Carter as starting safeties on Miami's defense. 

Also, Weston Steelhammer should be drafted off name alone. Best name on this list and possibly in the draft haha

I think I've seen him range from 2-3/4. I think because he's a polished WR and is someone who some consider a safe bet, I think he gets a little overvalued. I agree with a range of 34/5. I think that makes more sense from what I've seen of him. On another note, I apologize for discussing this with you on a DB thread lolol. My bad

Yeah, that's how I feel as well. If he were still on the board, I don't think the FO would do it because of West and Dixon and because of how badly we need younger pass rushers and someone opposite Smith. I just think it would be interesting to think about.

Same. He's not the guy I would necessarily target, but if he were available at 16, the top CB/pass rushers are off the board, and we can't trade up/down, I wouldn't be adverse to the idea of selecting him. Would rather take him than reach for a position of need

You're right in that our biggest needs are at CB and pass rusher, but Ozzie subscribes to the BPA philosophy, so if Cook were available at pick 16, I do think it's something he might entertain. He's taken backs when we've had a crowded backfield before, albeit not in the 1st round, but guys like Cook and Fournette don't come around very often. Also, idk if any of the backs on the roster now are as explosive or as athletic as Cook are. Maybe I'm wrong but just my 2 cents

I do like Rudolph though, he really has the savvy and the smoothness in his movements coupled with great hands. He completely abused William Jackson III in their bowl game (although that's not what stats will tell because poor QB play kept Rudolph from 2 50+yds TDs and gave WJ3 a pick).

Of course, man. This is why I love the forums. You're on point with Rudolph, too. He is a pretty technically sound WR. Again, this is coming from a Miami fan, but I don't really see why Rudolph is projected as a 2nd round pick and Stacy Coley is being projected as a 5th round pick. They're similar in that they're both smooth and technically sound, but Coley is a better athlete who I think is also more versatile.

I love the idea of pairing Dalvin Cook with Kenneth Dixon. I didn't get to see that many games this year as I normally do, but from what I saw, I thought Dixon was excellent and West was kinda underwhelming. Cook would provide the offense with an element of speed from the backfield. Considering what we have in Flacco, our offense needs more athletes. I doubt Cook is available at 17, but I wouldn't be upset at all if we were to select him.

The past 3 years, during the "Golden years," Miami ran a 3-4 base defense that generated no pass rush whatsoever and the secondary was always dropping back in zone (kinda like how we lost to Pitt most recently in the last 1:30, ughhh). This year, the DBs played more man. Elder shut down Ford from VT and Rudolph from FSU (at least from what I can recall rudolph had 1 catch against Elder). Although, I don't think Rudolph is really all that great, which is probably me talking with some Miami bias, but I've never been that taken aback by him. His hip movement and flexibility will probably be more noticeable during workouts for the draft. 

Him being 5'10" is the only reason as to why Corn Elder isn't projected as a 1st round pick. Imo, the best player and the MVP on Miami's team this year. Short but has smooth hips. Can turn and run with anyone. Shut down Isaiah Ford this year. Plenty of speed, as evidenced by him chasing down Dalvin Cook in the open field this year against FSU. Very physical, excellent tackler. Had some Denzel Perryman-like tackles against some players this year. Him and Adrian Colbert, for whatever reason, were the only 2 corners who could get off screens and stop the run, which is a very important skill to have. A much better player than Artie Burns was. Burns was stiff and was a height/weight/speed guy, and everyone knew it. Part of it had to do with Burns being at Miami during the Golden era, but despite the coaching staff's inadequacies, Elder still stood out. Is also a very capable returner. I think most people know about the Duke game last year, but he's returned punts prior to that. I think everyone knows about Kaaya and Njoku from Miami, but Elder and Stacy Coley (WR who has some minor character issues and mental lapses but is still a terrific player) is the most polished and complete player at his position among the Miami players entering the draft. I suppose Joseph Yearby goes in that category as well. He's just slow and not the biggest guy. I think Elder probably goes from rounds 2-3 because of his size.    

Njoku's hands aren't the greatest, but they improved during the latter half of this year. Physically, he's imposing and possesses superior athleticism. Is a high jumper, as was evidenced by a couple of plays this season (against West Virginia in the Russell Athletic bowl and I think against Pitt). According to Miami coaches, he's been clocked from 4.49-4.50 in the 40 yard dash. From what I've seen, I think mid 4.5s sounds about right. Takes a while to get going, but once he's on the move, he's moving pretty fast. Was used more this year, especially vertically. Very strong, breaks a lot of tackles. Not afraid to block, but wasn't used in that capacity. Was lined up in the slot. Chris Herndon, the other TE, is the more complete TE and was used more as a blocker. He will be drafted next year as well. Technically, still has a ways to go. Needs work on route running and some of the subtleties of the game. Good kid, clean off the field. Comes from a good family. His brother will be attending Miami next season.

What they aren't considering though, is that burns is simply bad in coverage. Perriman isn't some stellar route runner but I'd put money on it that he will cook burns all over the field. They are desperately attempting to catch up with the afc north offenses who are adding a lot of speed to their offenses and it's going to bite them.

Believe me, I completely understand. But at the same time, critique of any prospect from the Al Golden era of Miami football needs to be taken with the understanding that these kids were being deliberately placed in situations that didn't allow them to succeed. Of the Miami prospects to be drafted this year, I wouldn't be surprised if Deon Bush ends up being a stud in the league, even though he'll be drafted in the mid rounds of the draft all because of Al Golden.

Burns was overdrafted, but he was also coached by the worst group of coaches in college football. So bad that they shouldn't be allowed to coach high school ball. With coaching, I could foresee Burns being a problem for us

Apple and Garnett were two who I thought were overdrafted

Taylor Decker- From what I've seen, translates more to a RT than a LT, but teams tend to overdraft at that position, so I think he may get drafted ahead of where he's projected to go

Eli Apple- Athletic, but very raw. 

Artie Burns- Hate to say this as a 'Canes fan, but Burns is not a 1st round pick. Like Apple, physically gifted. Also has good hands for a corner, but awful technique. Was coached by the worst coaching staff in all of college football, so there's a lot of room to grow

Paxton Lynch- Similar to Decker in that teams covet his position, so he could be drafted higher than he should be, when he's a developmental player whose value is more in the 2nd round

others: Will Fuller, Reggie Ragland, a Gator other than VH3

Rashawn Scott, WR, Miami. Tough, physical receiver who ran faster than I thought he would. Not a #1 guy by any means, but could develop into a solid #2 receiver. Had a good good game against our beloved Jalen Ramsey. Had some off the field issues earlier in his time at UM, but nothing major. Solid hands, but I don't know what was going on in the bowl game against Washington State. I was right about Allen Hurns, and I feel good about some team getting a solid player in Scott. 

Stacy Coley, WR from Miami. Smooth athlete who's finally playing under a real head coach now. Should show out this coming season. 

If Fuller is completely healthy, he's the 2nd best corner in this draft. Possibly better than Hargreaves, too. I want him to fall so Ozzie has a chance to select him, but not if that means that he has some kind of irreparable damage.

Worst case scenarios:

1. LA and CLE take QBs, but SD takes Tunsil (still not the worst thing that could happen because we still get a premier defensive player, but still)

2. CLE doesn't get the QB they want, so they take Ramsey, and then SD takes Tunsil

3. SD takes Ramsey and leaves Tunsil on the board, but we don't trade ahead of JAX, and they take Tunsil

Best case scenario:

1. Every team ahead of us takes someone other than Tunsil and we get Tunsil!!!
