  1. I like Ramsey at everything so it's hard to pick one spot lol, If we draft him I would love to see us start him at corner just like you do. I completely agree with that. Our linebackers (excluding Mosley) are really slow and don't really fit the "modern" style of having extremely athletic guys which seems to be working out pretty good for other teams. First off, Suggs is a great player but he's old/slow/injured which is sad but true. Elvis Dumervil is good as well but he's old/small/average speed. Daryl Smith is old too with just average ILB speed. Then there's Upshaw who is very similar to Suggs from a size and speed perspective and for some reason we try to use him in coverage and it's embarrassing to watch. He's not someone who should be dropping back. We could also get more speed at corner as of now (besides Smith because he's big and athletic) with Webb (safety/corner now I guess) being old/washed up, and Wright isn't the most speedy/athletic guy either. I'm not saying every player on our team needs to run a 4.2, but from what we have now, we need to add speed to our team just as others are doing. I honestly want Pees to be fired. It's time for a change of scenery at the defensive coordinator spot. We have been to loyal to him over the years and he probably should've been fired already. He has shown that he can't develop talent in the secondary with his coaching and schemes. He also doesn't always put the best lineups out on the field and tends to put young guys in the "doghouse" which is stupid. I'm sure Harbaugh has some input in the lineup part of it, but either way I think it's time for a change.
  2. I agree that he can basically do everything, but he's only played one full year of corner. I think his skill set and knowledge of the game so far fits more of the safety position, but I'd still try him at corner if we end up drafting him. Also, I wouldn't mind him switching around at positions throughout the year if he's up to it. We have a lot of safeties on our roster right now that could start for and we might even draft another one (I really hope we do). Could you imagine the athleticism on the field if we found a way to start Ramsey, Brooks, Smith, Hill, Mosley, and the possibility of another athletic rookie at CB and/or LB in the lineup. Some of our players on defense and even offense are pretty slow/old and we need to find and develop some young athletic guys because a lot of other teams are becoming faster and faster every year. Speed kills... It really does. You can't teach speed. I feel like we've been leaning more towards these faster players in the draft lately like Perriman, Brooks, or even Waller. Jalen Ramsey would for sure add to the speed/athleticism of some of our recent draft picks. Also, I'd like to say that I hope having Pees doesn't ruin another high potential secondary prospect like Ramsey. I know some of you guys feel like Elam and Brooks are busts, but look at all of our secondary guys play. Everyone in our secondary has played bad recently, including guys that have showed they can be really good players, like Smith and Hill. I feel like Pees has failed the young guys especially though, but I hope that doesn't continue, especially with Ramsey possibly coming in.
  3. Yeah it's a lot of inexperience, but you gotta start somewhere. You can't just bench guys because they are young. Teams start young inexperienced guys all the time, including safeties. With Ramsey at pick #6, why not start him, we always start our first rounders. Matt Elam started an entire year his rookie year and played a lot in his second so he has experience. Brooks has some experience too, he's been here for 2 years now. So that's easily more than a season worth of game experience and the fact that Ramsey is a top 10 pick in the draft. I just think it would be a cool idea to actually start developing some young safeties with the talent and potential they have. Webb is old/injured and will be gone soon and then Will Hill's contract will be up soon, so why not? Knowing our coaches though, it probably won't happen. They like scrubs as in Kendrick Lewis and won't make changes when they're obviously needed. Also, I'd like to say that we have to start rebuilding sometime. You can't just expect us to keep playing a bunch of "experienced" old veteran guys at safety. The young guys might even be better. You just don't know until you give them a chance and put them in a position to succeed. It's time to rebuild some spots on our team and safety is one of them.
  4. You guys probably won't like it, but what about this lineup (if we get Ramsey): FS: Ramsey SS: Brooks/Elam LB: Will Hill plays the "Bucannon" role CB: Smith, Wright, Webb plays slot/nickel corner This would possibly change if we were to draft a LB or CB. Also, Webb and D. Smith could be gone soon.
  5. Jack is a little bigger than Brown and even Mosley actually. I don't see him not being able to tackle "big guys" in the nfl. He's a way different player than Arthur is.
  6. I want Ramsey, Jack, or Hargreaves. In that order. Brown looks to be done anyways and Myles Jack is can't miss talent at LB. That guy probably runs a 4.4 as a 6-1 245 linebacker. He could literally be used as a RB too. I love how he runs actually. Hopefully he can fully recover from his injury and also compete at the combine, but we'll have to see.
  7. Will is our SS and he's played decent if you look at how bad everyone in the secondary has played. Literally nobody stands out in our secondary, which is sad because we have lots of talent there. I wouldn't take Darian Thompson though, he seems like a good players, but he's going to be a first rounder or a high second rounder and I don't think we should spend that high of a pick on a safety with the players we have there now. I still want to get Ramsey though because he's a can't-miss type of talent at CB and S. I say we take a safety in the 4th round or later though. The safety class looks really nice this year and has a bunch of potential late round starters. Powell (OSU) and Davis (MD) are my boys. I pray that we at least get one of them.
  8. I hope we take a late round safety even if we draft Ramsey. Two later round guys that I love are Tyvis Powell from Ohio State and Sean Davis from Maryland. I honestly want both of them lol. The safety class is good this year.
  9. It just depends how you put it. We have a lot of guys that are proven or have shown potential to be good and I think that's depth. I guess you could say we have a lot of possible options? I don't know lol, but safety looks good as of now. We can try out a lot of guys there in camp and even as the season goes on... unless we stick to watching someone like Kendrick Lewis play awful all year instead of making a change, which I hope doesn't happen.
  10. Looks nice honestly, but I wouldn't draft Ramsey to play safety even though I love him there. I would try him at corner because it's a big need and he will have the potential to still be a safety for us down the road. We have a lot of guys that could start for us there and I don't think Webb wants to play nickel if he stays with us, but who knows. Hopefully Jimmy can step his game up and Wright can do good, but I'd like an upgrade from Wright if possible. For safety, I say we try to find someone from the group we have now and if nobody works out then we switch Ramsey there.
  11. Don't be surprised, especially if he is ready for the combine/pro day. He is a unique talent at LB and literally could be used as a RB.
  12. It would be nice to get Ramsey at #6 and play him at nickel and even outside corner. I LOVE him as a safety, but we have so much depth there, plus he could be a great corner too. He's a special player. I think Jalen Ramsey and Myles Jack are can't miss prospects if they are at pick 6. You don't see guys like them every year. I also love VH3 because he's a very talented true corner, but I would say we go with Jack or Ramsey at #6 if they are there. This is also coming from a big Florida Gators fan lol. In the end though, I'd be excited to get any one of those three players.
  13. I want Myles Jack so baaaaad. I doubt he will drop to #6 and who knows if we would even take him. That kid is special though.
  14. I also like Jalen Ramsey and I think he's an extremely talented player, but I don't think we should spend the #6 pick on a safety. We have a lot of depth there right now so I would only spend a first rounder on a corner if we were to go secondary with that pick or even trade down a little. I know Ramsey could be a corner, but I like him more as a safety and don't think we need one that high in the draft. If he was drafted to be our starting corner I would be ecstatic because we really need a corner, especially with Webb moving to safety. He would instantly bolster our secondary which would be great, but I just think we should go with something besides a safety with our first rounder unless we make the decision to put him at corner when we draft him. Also, the safety class is deep this year and has a ton of later round guys that could be good players.
  15. Arthur Brown hasn't shown much in his time with the team, but I wouldn't go as far as cutting him. He's more than likely done as a Raven and probably won't earn a starting job, but he can provide depth for next year and competition at the linebacker spot. It sucks to see a player not live up to his potential, but I think he could still be a good player in this league and probably with another team that fits his play style better. I wish the best for him and hopefully he becomes that Daryl Smith replacement we all thought he would be.
  16. Oh ok. I just didn't understand what you said. I wasn't too happy when we signed him either. Felt the same way about Darian Stewart. Although, Stewart seems to be doing good for the Broncos, but he's nothing special.
  17. Yeah we just disagree on the part of why they aren't on the field. I just don't see how a young developing guy like Brooks can start over Lewis who we just signed to be our starter. We wouldn't pay a veteran guy that money and have him count against our comp picks just to bench him for a young guy that could start. For Brown, he looked like he would be our starter next to Daryl Smith after his rookie year or at least get a fair shot to be. Did he not? We ended up drafting Mosley in a higher round and most likely a better player who is also young so how could he start. We weren't going to bench a guy like Daryl or bench our more talented first rounder. We always start our first rounders which really annoys me. Being drafted in the first round doesn't mean you're automatically better than the later round guys. It might seem like that though because they get a chance to show what they can do unlike others. I want to add something about the Brooks situation. I think one of the biggest reasons that we even signed Lewis was because of Brooks' injury and unclear status for the season. Brooks was considered to not even play until Week 6 at the minimum. I really think that if Brooks never got hurt that he would've had the chance to start for us, but that sadly didn't happen.
  18. You can have more than one legitimate option at a position. Having the ability to be a starter is just one of the things the factors into who actually gets the job. Players like Brooks and Brown are young and still developing.
  19. CJ and Daryl are the starters is why I'm talking about them. Plus I wouldn't say you can get "plenty" of snaps behind them. Maybe somewhere around 10% of the snaps throughout the whole season which isn't that much. Guys like Orr and McClellan got more snaps this year than Brown did, but none of them got enough to show if they can be a starter or not. I don't think Arthur Brown is some great player, but I'm not going to agree that he is a bust when he hasn't shown that on the field.
  20. Your first statement is exactly right. He was behind those guys who he basically couldn't beat out no matter what he did and which gave him very limited to no regular season snaps. I'm guessing the team also thought he had no chance to play for us and just decided to cut him because I don't know any other reason that we should've gave up on him so early. Secondly, don't bring preseason games into this. He's a second round pick and flashed potential in his rookie year in the REGULAR season and looked like he could be the starting MLB alongside Daryl Smith or at least have a fair shot at showing what he could do there. Thing is, after he finished his rookie year and got his feet wet, we drafted C.J. Mosley because he was the best player available and it was a good pick for sure. Sadly, this screwed basically any chance that Arthur could earn a starting spot or a whole lot of playing time because we're not going to bench Daryl Smith for several reasons and the fact that C.J. Mosley was our 1st rounder, an Alabama guy, and is most likely a better player than Arthur, but we haven't seen enough to say that is 100% true. You can't say the guy is a bust already. Same goes for other players. It would be very sad, but I'd love for us to just cut Brown and Brooks just like we did with Simon if it meant they would get a fair chance to show what they can do for another team instead of wasting their talent.
  21. McClellan, Orr, and Brown have all gotten some playing time on defense when Daryl needs to sit or rest or whatever. How can you tell me you've seen enough of Arthur Brown to say he is a bust? He's had players above him ever since he finished his rookie year which is the only year he got some decent playing time and showed some potential. I bet you thought John Simon was a bust when we cut him didn't you? Look at him now. Starter for the Texans. Some of you just jump to conclusion of players if they don't get playing time and assume they're a bust. You're wrong. Players take time to develop. They also need to get a fair shot to show what they can do and also be put in a position to succeed. Try to have some hope for our young players from now on and stop bashing them for not getting on the field. Not everyone can play at the same time. That's just how sports work.
  22. Well obviously everyone else in our secondary doesn't know what they're doing either, so why not start the young guy with potential and actually try to develop him?
  23. Arthur Brown has a similar situation. Say we didn't draft C.J. Mosley, I bet Arthur Brown would've at least had the first shot to start alongside Daryl Smith, but instead he got screwed because you can't start 3 MLB's. Chykie Brown was a fifth round draft pick so it doesn't necessarily help his chances to start when he had guys like Jimmy Smith and Lardarius Webb above him. How can a fifth rounder beat those two out? It's all about image, where they were drafted, contract situations, and experience.
  24. It seems like you've always thought he isn't good. Truth is, he hasn't gotten a fair chance due to some injuries and mostly the other players we have at his position.
