  1. Thought it might be a good idea to have a single thread for us to post interesting or awful Ravens' picks in mock drafts from the media. Let's start with one of the worst ones I've seen, courtesy of Dane Brugler: Note: Charles Harris, Takkarist McKinley, and Sydney Jones were still on the board at this point in his mock. Elsewhere, yesterday, Eddie Brown of the San Diego Tribune posted a two round mock. He had the Ravens taking: I would be pretty happy if this one happened.
  2. If Mike Williams and Barnett are off the board, then I think the pick will be Lamp.
  3. I think so too, but given the depth of corners in this draft I could see them dealing with a smaller need first.
  4. With the 63rd pick in the nfl draft the Falcons select Dorian Johnson, guard, Pittsburgh.
  5. Same goes for the Jamie Sharper comparison.
  6. Well, if we can't get Williams or Barnett then I'll be happy with Lamp.
  7. Benjamin is a good comparison for what he'll be when he first enters the NFL. Though he could end up being like Brandon Marshall.
  8. Wonder what they mean with the shell shocked comment. That the Ravens think the WRs go early?
  9. It seems like both sides exaggerate in arguments about Ozzie just for the sake proving the other side wrong. I don't think he's perfect, but he's been right more often than he's been wrong, which is more than I can say for many GMs over the years. So, yeah, I'll trust him.
  10. With the 33rd pick the Browns select Adoree Jackson, DB, USC
  11. Mahomes to the Cards make a lot sense. They can let him sit behind Palmer for a year, and he fits their aggressive passing game.
  12. He's stronger and more athletic than Oher ever was, and doesn't get false starts constantly. I think Robinson will be like K.O., an average rt that will move inside and become a pro bowl calibre guard.
  13. I can live with Robinson as the pick. He could be a great guard. He's not my first choice, but if Mike Williams and Barnett are off the board, then so be it. It'll groan a bit at first, but then be happy when he's opening big running lanes.
  14. It's common for people to get hyped for a prospect in the early parts of the draft season and then lose interest in them the more they see them. Who did you really like earlier on and now just aren't really a fan of? For me, I guess it would be Charles Harris. Initially I wanted him for in the first round, but now I think I'd take Derek Rivers or Jordan Willis over him in the second round. I still think Harris could be decent as the complementary edge rusher but I just don't see him as the instant big impact guy that I initially did. His lack of bend worries me and how easily he can be taken out of the play if the tackle actually gets ahold of him.
  15. Since there's one for First-Pick we may as well have a thread ready for the fanspeak mocks. These can be interesting, though rarely realistic. Even if the board is decent, teams do a lot of weird picks. Oh well, I'll get it started: 16: R1P16 S JAMAL ADAMS LSU 47: R2P15 EDGE TAKKARIST MCKINLEY UCLA 78: R3P14 C PAT ELFLEIN OHIO STATE 102: R3P38 WR CURTIS SAMUEL OHIO STATE 121: R4P16 EDGE DAESHON HALL TEXAS A&M 160: R5P15 CB CORN ELDER MIAMI (FLA.) 199: R6P14 OT STORM NORTON TOLEDO 237: R7P16 CB ASHTON LAMPKIN OKLAHOMA STATE Speaking of unrealistic, Elflein in the third. Gotta admit though, I'd be beyond ecstatic if this was our draft.
  16. I would love to bait the Texans into giving up a lot to move up. We could even potentially get their 2nd round pick. If Mike Williams, Barnett, or Corey Davis aren't on the board, then the Texans could be one of the main teams to trade back with.
  17. 1: Mike Williams 2: Derek Rivers, Ryan Anderson, or Carl Lawson 3: Carlos Watkins 3: Isaac Asiata
  18. Not to mention that Jerinigan seemed to attract some dumb penalties during the season, which did hurt the defense at times. I think that also played a role in Ozzie and company seeing him as expendable.
  19. I don't see Adoree Jackson as a first round. Maybe at the end of the first round, if Atlanta or New England really loved him, but that's the absolute earliest for him. I like him, but I've never considered him a first rounder.
  20. I just don't think Pocic will be that good in the pros. Too tall and not strong enough. I think there's potentially better centers to get in the draft.
  21. I like the first round he did for the Ravens, but hate the second round selection.
  22. I think their battles will go back and forth, with each of them winning and losing at times. Stanley probably is a better match for him than most but it's going to be a heck of a battle between the two.
  23. Barnett if he goes to the Bengals. If he becomes as good as some think he will be then Stanley is going to have his hands full.
  24. I think he could do alright with the Bears. Though if San Fran gets him, then I hope they actually get someone to help him out in the second round. I think if he's still on the board when the Texans pick they'll definitely grab him.
  25. I'd love for this to happen. If Watson, Mahomes, and Trubisky went in the top fifteen, that'd be great for the Ravens.
