  1. Yeah, but without that system in place, the best teams would get the best players nearly every time. You end up with teams that are unstoppable and other teams that have literally no way of climbing out of the hole. We'd have a team win a championship and then grabbing the three highest ranked college players.
  2. I think really great players shouldn't be worried about going to bad teams. If anything it can become part of their HoF campaign if they can say, "I was the guy that helped turn one of the worst teams into a contender." Also, this seems less about the Browns and more about Garrett wanting to play for the Cowboys.
  3. Yeah. I get it with Foster because he really is that good, but having others go to the Ravens purely because of some connection seems lazy.
  4. In that scenario Lewis would become the odd man out. However, having Lewis as the backup guard and RT with those starters would give us some nice depth.
  5. Marquel Lee, ILB from Wake Forest is fully capable of being a starting ILB in the NFL, I think. He has the size, speed, and is pretty good at getting through offensive lines to make tackles for losses and sacks. If the Ravens got him I think he'd be yet another no name linebacker to become a star for us.
  6. Seemed more like describing a great possession receiver. Someone like Mason when he was with the team.
  7. This draft would blow my mind. The first four rounds alone would be amazing. Round 1 Pick 16: Jamal Adams, SS, LSU (A+) Round 2 Pick 15: Charles Harris, DE, Missouri (A) Round 3 Pick 14: Amara Darboh, WR, Michigan (A) Round 3 Pick 36: Jaleel Johnson, DT, Iowa (A-) Round 4 Pick 16: Adam Shaheen, TE, Ashland (A) Round 5 Pick 15: Channing Stribling, CB, Michigan (B) Round 6 Pick 14: Justin Senior, OT, Mississippi State (C+) Round 7 Pick 16: Anthony McMeans, C, New Mexico State (F)
  8. I think he might, since it's not like his phone is blowing up with people wanting him to be a head coach at the moment.
  9. Quarterback Zach Terrell from Western Michigan. Doesn't have the biggest arm, but he's smart with the football, doesn't turn it over, and can run well enough when things break down. I see him as sort of a poor man's Dak Prescott. He could be pretty good as a long term backup.
  10. I'd take that second option in a heart beat. Brandon Marshall and Perriman at the outside guys would be a matchup nightmare.
  11. He should never be in control of personnel decisions, but in terms of just offensive design and playcalling he was great in Philly. He made Nick Foles look like a star qb in his system. He kinda reminds me of Rex in a way. Great mind for one side of the ball, but should never be a head coach at the NFL level.
  12. Mallet could sign elsewhere if someone else wants to give him a shot at starting. He could be the vet starter for a team that brings in a rookie qb.
  13. Wow, I didn't even notice that. Heh, my bad. Nizair Jones is what I meant, of course.
  14. @hn68wb4 Aside from the 2nd round pick and 5th round picks, I like that draft. Jarron Jones and Nizair Jones are great pickups for those spots and might really help use get pressure up the middle. Also, while Samuel and Dixon would be a great combination at RB. In the 5th, I think some linebackers will be available to compete for Orr's old spot or even some under the radar, small school o-linemen. Though having a long term backup qb could be good if our current one isn't resigned.
  15. To be fair in that case the Ravens' backfield was a dumpster fire. It was a great pass rush with possibly the worst secondary in Ravens' history. While we could definitely use some depth (I'd happily spend a 2nd or 3rd on a corner), I don't think we'd get as abused by the quick passes as we did before. Young would definitely do better than the corners in that game did against it. And Weddle is a huge improvement over the safeties we had.

  17. SBnation did a three round mock recently. They had the Ravens taking Quincy Wilson, Dawuane Smoot, and Isaiah Ford.
  18. It's weird how Barnett seems to be sliding further on mock drafts.
  19. After the Super Bowl, I am more sure than ever that we should get Harris if we can (or Barnett if he somehow falls to us). When the Falcons D was getting pressure they were winning. Once they stopped getting pressure later on in that game, Brady then turned around and did the biggest come back in Super Bowl history.
  20. I think Adoree Jackson will be a bit boom or bust, especially if some team reaches on him in the first.
  21. A trade back for Feeney would be a great move for Indy.
  22. The play calling near the end was so bad. They're clearly in field goal range, why not just run the ball to drain the clock and kick the field goal? If they could have gotten that 11 point lead with two minutes left it would have been a win. Maybe I'm just used to Tucker being automatic from the 40-50 yard range, but it still seems like the obvious strategy there.
  23. Due to how much he studies film and looks for weaknesses of other teams, I think he has the potential to be a good coach, but it'd be a mistake to make him a HC right away. It'd be best to ease into it with him being a linebackers' coach at first or maybe even straight to DC.
  24. I didn't say low ceiling, just that it's not as high as some others that are expected to go in the first. He's simply not as good of an athlete as the other edge guys expected to go in the first. He doesn't have that explosive burst, and is unlikely to be able to push back NFL tackles. He has the tenacity and motor you'd want in an edge rusher and shows some ability to help against the run (though due to him not being that big he could get pushed back by some NFL tackles). With time he could mix that tenacity with savvy moves to get around tackles and be a good starter. I see TJ Watt as the text book example of what you normally look for in the second round, a guy with potential to be a solid starter but won't likely be a top ten player at his position.
