  1. Well, for the trade one of the options mentioned is giving Thomas for him, which isn't a bad deal. Julius Thomas hasn't been great for them, and they'll be offloading some of his salary to get a guy they can get more use out of.
  2. Marquel Lee, linebacker from Wake Forest. He has a great size, good athleticism, and really has a knack for stopping plays behind the line of scrimmage. I think he'd be going much higher had he played for someone like USC or Washington instead of Wake Forest.
  3. So, that NFLcom mock was a four round mock. They had the Ravens' draft going: 1: Jamal Adams, S, LSU 2. Dion Dawkins, G, Temple 3. Devonte Fields, OLB, Louisville 3 (comp): Demontae Kazee, CB, San Diego State 4: Kendell Beckwith, ILB, LSU Would have preferred someone else in the 4th, but I'd be fairly happy with those first three rounds.
  4. Out of the three top corners, I think he's the one most likely to slide a little just because his athleticism won't be as off the charts. One of the reasons we managed to get Jimmy Smith in the 20s. If Jones goes higher than Quincy Wilson could be the one to be there.
  5. I think there'll still be some top corners available in the low twenties. Someone like Sidney Jones.
  6. I would love that happened so much. Jamal Adams would be such a difference maker for our defense.
  7. Since I've advocated the Ravens trading back in the first I went ahead and did a first round trade in this one. In This scenario Miami gave us their first and second to go up for Barnett. This would be like an absolute best case scenario for our draft, and probably impossible. Round 1 Pick 22 (MIA): Dan Feeney, OG, Indiana (B) Round 2 Pick 15: Charles Harris, DE, Missouri (A) Round 2 Pick 22 (MIA): Adoree' Jackson, CB, Southern California (B+) Round 3 Pick 14: Alvin Kamara, RB, Tennessee (A+) Round 3 Pick 36: Jaleel Johnson, DT, Iowa (A-) Round 4 Pick 16: Isaiah Ford, WR, Virginia Tech (A+) Round 5 Pick 15: John Johnson, FS, Boston College (A) Round 6 Pick 14: Jalen Myrick, CB, Minnesota (B) Round 7 Pick 16: C.J. Beathard, QB, Iowa (B-)
  8. Jarron Jones is an interesting prospect that's a bit similar to Tuitt. He has times when he plays below what he should be capable of, but also flashes moments of greatness. If he plays up to his potential consistently he could be a great rotational piece for the front seven. Nazair Jones is another midrounder that looks good. He could be a really solid passrusher from the 3-4 DE position. He doesn't have huge sack numbers, but he does get a lot of pressure, and pressure up the middle is usually what causes QBs to make really bad throws.
  9. Even if Dixon goes down, I'd still would have preferred focusing on the o-line rather than just another great running back. Also, a RB in the first in a draft this stacked at positions of need for the Ravens just sounds like a horrible idea.
  10. I feel like sites that mock a RB to the Ravens in the first didn't actually watch any of our games, especially not the ones Dixon was starting in. Dixon has everything needed to be a feature back in the NFL, and West and Juice compliment him well enough. The problem was the blocking and having an OC that just wasn't calling run plays.
  11. I doubt they could get another first, but trading back for another second round pick and then trading the second first for Jimmy would be smart. I'll give their GM plenty of credit if he pulled that off.
  12. It's not uncommon for a team to get a long term deal worked out with a trade prospect as part of the trade. And you can't really compare what Garoppolo did to Brissett. Jimmy only played a game and a half compared to Brissett's two and a half games, but yet Jimmy got more yards and four touchdowms compared to Brissett's zero touchdowns. The offenses were ran very differently as well. When Jimmy was in the Patriots didn't hold back at all, but they were a run heavy, game managing team while Brissett was playing. Also, Brissett was the QB when they got shut out by the Bills.
  13. Yes, that score is correct. This video is a little old (from October of last year) but I thought you all might find the story behind that score interesting.
  14. It's explained in the video but there was a reason for it. Georgia Tech had a RB that hadn't scored a touchdown. They downed the ball there to put that other RB, Alexander, in. However, it was for a prank. His o-line was going to lay down and not protect him. However, Cumberland's team was so scared at this point that they also laid down. What should have been the easiest one yard TD in history was nearly fumbled away as Alexander dropped and kicked the ball by accident. But he recovered it in the endzone.
  15. I think this could work if the college players went to developmental teams in the same area. They could get people to follow them into watching.
  16. There's a mock from Bleacher Report that has three QBs going before the Ravens' pick, and Barnett falling for us: The Pick: DE Derek Barnett, Tennessee Fourteen years ago, the Baltimore Ravens stood pat at the 10th overall pick, and college's football best pass-rusher fell to them because of concerns about his athleticism. Derek Barnett may not be the next Terrell Suggs, but the logic of selecting the Tennessee product remains the same. Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome apparently believes a pass-rusher who dominates at the collegiate level should be able to do the same as a professional. Barnett left Tennessee after setting a school record with 33 sacks. He also finished second on the Vols' career list with 52 tackles for loss. But concerns persist about his ability to beat offensive tackles at the next level. Teams will be closely watching how he performs at the combine—specifically in the 10-yard split, short shuttle and three-cone drill. Meanwhile, Suggs and his bookend, Elvis Dumervil, need reinforcements. Both are at least 33 years old. Each dealt with multiple injuries during their careers. Last season, the duo combined for only 11 sacks, and the team finished 24th overall in the category. Barnett may not display top-end physical traits, but he has a knack for getting to the quarterback. It's a quality the Ravens need. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2692179-2017-nfl-mock-draft-pre-combine-update
  17. I would be ecstatic if the Ravens somehow got Jamal Adams.
  18. It'll largely be because Juice is the only RB the Ravens have at the moment that's any good at pass blocking. Plus he's fully capable of filling in if Dixon or West get hurt.
  19. I can see the giving up their 2nd round pick for him, but yeah, not one of the firsts.
  20. I don't get why people think Brandon Williams has priced himself out of Baltimore's ability to resign him. He's not some sack artist, and didn't even look like a dominate run stopper down the stretch of his contract year. Sure, he's a really good NT and some DCs in the league would love to have him, but I think Ravens fans are really overestimating his market value.
  21. He put up nearly six hundred yards, with a fifteen yard average despite being the number three receiver in his offense. That's pretty good. Near vet minimum for that production would be a good deal.
  22. On the topic of free agent Wrs, Cruz just got released from the Giants. He's probably cheaper than Garcon and should have another couple solid years left in him.
  23. I don't know. You don't have go that far back to see a successful second round pick. KO played well here and then got a gigantic check from the Raiders. Him, Torrey, and Kruger all got their money after the Ravens, and a super bowl ring while here.
  24. People love Peppers' potential and athleticism, but yeah, he's not some big playmaker right now. I think he's one of those guys that's kinda raw and a better athlete than football player at the moment. With the right supporting cast and coaches he could become a great player, but it's not going to be instant and there is a big chance of him becoming a bust (at least a bust for a first round pick). I would take a guy like him with out second round pick, but not the first. Let some other team gamble on him in the first.
  25. I think Jabril Peppers would be best as a weakside linebacker in a 4-3 defense. A smaller LB used for covering backs and slot receivers. Basically how the Panthers use Shaq Thompson.
