  1. Prior to the win against the Stillers, I would've said that Ozzie was trying KO at LT to increase his stock in free agency to nab a higher comp pick. With a likely top 3 pick, the Ravens could've targeted Tunsil, the LT from Ole Miss. Now? I have no idea!
  2. Wonder the extent to which the poor drafts can be attributed to Harbs influence.
  3. Ain't the beer cold!
  4. What a great Christmas gift...this was all I wanted. Totally worth dropping 5 spots in the draft to knock the Stillers out of the playoffs and watch their fans slink out of M&T. Nice job, coaches and players! Been knocking Pees all season for the secondary play, and today saw the corners playing press half the snaps, and look what happened!
  5. I think Ravens fans are going to have a good showing. Win or lose, we support our team. And if the impossible happens and the Ravens win, and knock Pittsburgh out of the playoffs, I want to be there to see it!
  6. Hideous color combination. The mustard gold pants were awful. If they had to go with gold, why not metallic gold to at least stay as far away from Stiller yella as we can? One thing is for certain, it just didn't look right. Hopefully the look will be permanently scrapped before the Ravens play a Thursday night "color rush" game and go full Mustard.
  7. If Clausen gives us the best chance to win (and he does), start him against Pittsburgh. Just one more victory this season, boys! After that, start Mallett against Cincy to see what he has.
  8. The defense was atrocious. The only major missing piece was Suggs. There was no pressure on Wilson, despite a patchwork Seahawks O-Line, and had the secondary not been so poor and Rawls knocked out of the game, he would have easily rushed for well over 100 yds. Linebackers not tackling, and a secondary that is YET AGAIN confused, out of position and playing with poor technique. Can't fire the entire defense, so the responsibility has to lie with the coaching. Amazed the secondary coach hasn't been canned, if not Pees himself.
  9. Aside from Suggs, the defense was largely intact but could not keep up with a depleted Seahawks offense. Something has to change!
  10. You're right, Eisenberg. The Ravens reached into the bowels of their depth chart, but failed to create any movement.
  11. Wonder if the Ravens concluded that the artificial turf has contributed to this spate of injuries, and that is why they are converting to natural grass. Wonder if the NFL will mandate it for all outdoor fields. I've never seen an injury list like this.
  12. Harbs is coaching his tail off this season. I am really proud of the effort he is getting out of this roster which is, let's face it, not much above practice-squad caliber (especially on offense).
  13. Schaub is playing about as well as a backup QB with no starting-caliber weapons (or left tackle) can be expected to play. He made some nice throws - including the TD pass that was egregiously called bak - and absorbed some serious punishment. Both picks were off of deflections, which are not quite as bad as his at-'em ball pick six last week. Believe me, a few quarters of watching "The Pickle" play will have folks clamoring for Schaub's return.
  14. Ravens 8th in the league in preventing TDs in the Red Zone...because they get torched from more than 20 yards out with regularity.
  15. On the bright side, Ozzie ought to have a shot at re-signing KO, Upshaw, and Tucker for less than expected at the outset of the year, and Joe ought to provide some friendly terms for a re-structuring deal. Monroe will unfortunately be back. He has no trade value and cutting him would result in too much dead money.
  16. Schaub's confidence was completely shattered his last two seasons in Texas, even operating within the cozy confines of Kubiak's offense which simplifies things for the QB. I hope he can pull it together over the next several games, but it's not like we have anything to lose.
  17. If Clausen comes into a game, we'll really be in a pickle.
  18. I wonder about the late hit penalty on Mosley, where the receiver went to the ground, rolled and came up. Did the whistle blow before Mosley hit him? I'm sure that, after the Arizona game, all of the Ravens players will play to the whistle regardless of whether or not a player looks like they are down.
  19. Hush! Trying to sneak him on my fantasy team. He's done a nice job, and running the zone scheme with the requisite patience, but he lacks the burst that Forsett has in spades. I do think that he may render Taliaferro expendable, especially if West comes in and proves himself to be a more viable "big" back.
  20. Thought Ponder was a better talent (that's a truly relative term for backups) and Renner more upside than Clausen, who has proven to be ineffective.
  21. Poe should be cut immediately. We can pick up Edgar or Allen off of the Falcons' practice squad.
  22. The league and the players union need to, together, take a look at two things that are negatively impacting the quality of the game; injuries and penalties. I wonder if there is a correlation between the slew of injuries (especially achilles and knees) to the pro-turf composition, lack of collegiate-style braces, "strike zone" rules, and constrained offseason workout programs. As for penalties, are the refs too old and slow, the rulebook too dense and unenforceable, and does the collective bargaining cap on offseason activities mean that the players have less skill and discipline? Either way, the game is becoming borderline unwatchable and something should be done.
  23. Hurst literally got thrown into the back of Flacco's knee. It's nice to root for the underrated free agent kid, but that is just unsat. Hurst needs to do better than that.
  24. Almost seems as though Flacco and Tucker were under orders to keep the game close, but do what they could to ensure the Ravens barely lost (Joe's glaringly awful picks and Tuckers' missed FG again) to ensure our draft position. Then, the Rams got chippy and the Ravens decided to win it for pride. I know that's not what happened, but one wonders.
  25. Bet Flacco gets back on the field before Perriman
