Does anyone think Buckner is athletic enough to play Courtney Upshaw'so position? I ask because I really think Carl Davis is going to be a monster this next year after getting some rest. The rookie year is the hardest and most grueling. So if we lose Canty and Upshaw, that doesn't even phase me if our line is Williams, Jernigan, and Davis with Guy, Urban, and KLM to back them up. And that's along with Suggs and Buckner out on first and second anday a healthy Doom on 3rd?!!! Sounds good too me. Personally I think Buckner can do it, he's only 10 pounds heavier than Upshaw!
If the Ravens do not have one of the following starting next year, I'll be so sad. This is my order by the way.
I love these guys.
Laquon Treadwell
Josh Doctson
Braxton Miller
Tyler Boyd
Michael Thomas
Sterling Shepard
Corey Coleman
I believe the Ravens scouting machine is out in full force scouring the nation for top talent. I also believe that somebody that is highly regarded as a top 3-5 talent will slide down to us. Whether that someone is high on our board is another matter. More likely than not, Ozzie will be looking aggressively to trade down, especially to between 10-14 selections in the 1st round with a first rounder for next year thrown in as well. If that happens I can foresee a CB such as Mackenzie Alexander being our first pick.
If that is the case, I hope Frazier can whip him into NFL shape
I really think that if we stand pat at 6, with Tunsil and Bosa off the board, it's gotta be treadwell. Ramsey is high risk high reward. VH3 has big concerns for me and Alexander after watching more tape has soured on me because he can't tackle. I hate Stanley btw especially at 6. I think we will probably trade back and take Floyd because Dallas will take Treadwell.
I have flipped flopped a whole lot, but to me it seems like there are too many good second round receivers to not go Ramsey if he is there. I don't want Hargarves or Alexander after watching more tape. My top 3 are Ramsey, Treadwell, Stanley if we're being realistic! I have absolutely fallen in love with Boyd and Shepard. Can't decide who I like, it's like asking if you want Keenan Allen or Tyler Lockett!
I'm really big on Treadwell at 6 I think he really could be Dez Bryant like, but the more I've thought about it, wouldn't an uber athletic, possession, do it all kind of receiver like Tyler Boyd be just as good and a second round pick at that?
Finally got around to watching more game tape on the top DB's. (VH3, Ramsey Alexander)
Thoughts:
- VH3 struggled against the good WR's he faced which concerned me, had a lot more bad tape then I anticipated. Flashes of brilliance and super impressive athleticism but he got beat 1 on 1 the most out of all 3 of them. I see a lot of potential, I think he can mature some more physically and has the technical ability to be a really special player if he get's with the right coach and is groomed well. Definitely more of a project than a lot of people seem to perceive him as, the ability is certainly there but the issues against better WR's definitely worries me. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Alexander goes ahead of him, more on that later.
- Ramsey has some bad tape as well but when he's on, he's ON. There are some super impressive plays he makes that make you say "wow". Over aggressive at times and has some brain fart moments but damn can this kid play ball. When you look at the total package of size, speed, strength, and athleticism he's the most impressive of the bunch, definitely Patrick Peterson-esque in that regard. He can just flat out do things the other 2 can't do. The one hang up for me is where do you play him. He's a better corner than people seem to realize but definitely best utilized at FS. I don't buy the recycled line of "Doesn't have the range yada yada" when you put the time in and watch the game tape you can definitely envision him being a killer FS. I could also see him being used like Tyrann Mathieu, he's so good around the LOS that you don't want him to just be a traditional FS.
- Mackensie Alexander I was super impressed with, I think he's the best pure CB in the draft now. Very disciplined and rarely get's caught out of position. After watching the tape I really don't know how so many people think Hargreaves is better. Played very well against high level competition. QB's rarely even throw the ball his way and that perhaps is the sign of a true shutdown corner. Just so smooth in coverage, fluid hips, good back pedal, it's hard to find stuff to nit pick about his coverage in all honesty. Maybe not the athlete and all around specimen Ramsey is but he makes up for it with superior technique. If there's a an area of concern it's his physicality/tackling, the weakest of the 3 in that department. Whiffs on some tackles he should make, is easily blocked and taken out of plays... but considering he's a cover corner it's far from a deal breaker.
Conclusion:
- Alexander is the best pure corner
- Hard to say who is the better prospect between Alexander and Ramsey because Ramsey is so versatile and so gifted physically/athletically.
- VH3 may not be as impressive as the other 2 on tape but I still see what the hype is about, to me he's a bit of a project as far as top 5 players go but definitely has a high ceiling.
Alexander in the first and then a dynamic talent like Tyler Boyd in the second would take us big time. Both would be able to start right away because Alexander has all the physicals and the skills and Boyd can run routes really nicely and makes people miss.
Trestman will have his own version of Jeffry, Marshall, and Forte in Perriman, Treadwell, and Allen************ sorry
I think Kelechi walks unfortunately. If he does and with some miracle monroe can stay healthy, I believe Jensen and Urschel can hold down left guard no problem. If that's the case with a little cap space help from Joe, I think we are in business! Flacco top 10 quarterback. Above average O-Line in Monroe when healthy, Urschel/Jensen, Zuttah, YANDA, and Wangner. Running back is a heartbreaker because we can't keep Forsett, Taliaferro, Allen, and West. Good problem to have though. Cut Pitta because Gilmore, Williams, and Boyle are legit and will only be better. SSS comes back with Perriman and I truly believe our pick at 6 will be Treadwell. SSS, Perriman, Treadwell, Aiken, and the rest of the gang filled with Camp, Butler, and maybe one more would be dynamic. Especially considering the progress mentally perriman has made with SSS and the upside each has in a SECOND YEAR Trestman offense. That consistency will be huge. Westman will have his own version of Jeffry and Marshall and Allen in Perriman, Treadwell, and Allen, but with a better line and component quarterback!!!! I think Treadwell makes us a top 5 offense next year. Scary good! I think with the little ones do have we bring in someone like Sean Smith from KC. He paired with Jimmy and hopefully elevated play from either Arrington or Walker or WILL DAVIS as the third corner could in pair with Webb and Hill at the safety make our secondary respectable. That's on top of I truly believe Carl Davis and Ladarius Smith stepping up big in year 2 with Suggs coming back. Truthfully, with Treadwell and some luck keeping injury free and one offseason corner back move, we are Super Bowl bound next year guys! Go Ravens! Please tell me how you all think, some must really disagree!
Mallet is by far the most talented quarterback on our roster outside of Flacco obviously. But I think if our receiving corps next year is SSS, Perriman, Aiken, Butler, Chris Mathews and an additional rookie, I think we'll be pretty formidable! ![]()

I really hate where we're at with the receivers because I just think they are all so good with much potential. I really want to keep all 9, but that's not even a pipe dream it's just ridiculous. Great problem to have! My BOLD prediction SSS, Perriman, Aiken, Butler, Waller, Carter. Also, it must have been so nice for Permian to have run a great go route and have a quarterback that could just drop the football perfectly in stride for him. Flacco to Perriman all day everyday. Go RAVENS!
Amen. I wanted him all along and I'm still so thrilled. Poor quarterback play made him have to put the team on his back and that's where the concentration drops came from. Too much thinking. Joe will make this kid Dez Bryant!
Monroe, Zach Martin at LG, Zuttah at center, Yanda, K.O. RT Could be a hell of a line!

You all may think I'm crazy, but Sterling Shepard is the best receiver in the class. 4.48 40. 41 inch vertical. Smooth natural hand catcher. Even quicker than he is fast. Plays hard. Makes contested catches. Absolutely my round 2 guy although he might nothink make it there. Supposedly after he destroyed the gauntlet drill, Carolina wants him
Sterling, Perriman, and Kamar could be a bright future.
