Unfortunately to get Bosa we would have to suck. Dude is a freakI'm not sure if Bosa is even human.
If you put Gilmore or Juice in Camp's spot and Forsett at the back (I'm assuming our Oline plays at the last year's level), I just don't see how that offense can be stopped. Waller must be a nightmare for CBs on run plays. He is a mean blocker and corners can't do anything but run backwards if they engage him, opening a huge space for Forsett, or watch Waller catch a jump ball if they don't. The beauty is that the box can't be really stacked because Perriman and Williams or Senior are meanwhile getting open on the other side. If play turns into pass, you have 3 catchers on the field averaging just short of 20y per catch and aren't easily stoppable one-on-one.
When that offense gels, we will have the most complete Ravens team ever. And If they can gel early, Denver won't have enough Peyton's to beat us, no matter how warm it is.
Call me crazy but I am excited.
I am too I am loving the matchups in my head right now
I don't think the Steelers are dumb enough to match them up. They will put Golson on SSS though more likely than not
I like Smitty in that matchup too but I do love the matchup options that this creates and just imagine if big if Pitta can come back. Forsett in backfield with Pitta or Williams and SSS with Brown at 6 5 on one side and Waller at 6 6 on the other and even Aiken has good size
I would think that Boyle's chances of making the team depend on injuries... If Dennis Pitta, Maxx Williams, and Crockett Gillmore are all healthy, I doubt we carry Nick Boyle as a 4th TE. Obviously, injuries happen and Pitta is a question mark, though.
the Boyle pick for what its worth is an insurance option either way for Pitta. if Pitta is healthy then Boyle would probably get optioned to the practice squad to worth on things and have in our back pocket if something happens to Pitta or if Pitta isn't able to play this year he slides in as our 3rd TE
Other than Ray Everytime I buy one the person leaves Boldin Smith so maybe I will buy a Jah Reid
Another great example Bruce Mathews the man played 20 years and was a pro bowl caliber player until around year 18 or 19 so he was 40 41 years old and still awesome I could see Yanda in that same situationI'm going to say this and make it clear. Marshal Yanda is the best guard in football with evan mathis. Mathis is 3 years older and has played the best 3 seasons of his career in his early 30's
In equation form someone must be reading Urschel's work. I would love to keep both honestly I believe Yanda will retire a Raven so I see him back KO is almost as good but certainly Yanda will be backHonestly, it would be this formula for me:
Yanda > Osemele
IF (OsemeleLeaves = TRUE)
THEN
LeftGuard = Jeremy Zuttah
Center = John Urschel
END IF
That's how I would do it. You would lose Osmele, but keep Yanda, slide Zuttah to LG, and move Urschel to a starting gig in the middle at center. Zuttah played LG before, and if we draft someone who can do better, then that probably means he sticks at center. I'd prefer to continue to keep Urschel as a center or a reserve OL for now.
I'm reluctant to give money to KO because of the back. I really love him, and I want to keep him, but sometimes it doesn't happen and he would be my casualty if I had to choose. Ideally, I'd retain KO, Yanda, Jimmy and Tucker and let Will Hill and others go in FA.
I like Schaub and have since he went to UVA but 3 mil for a declining vet I would rather try Wenning but that's just me.schaub to the ravens sound good.
Kurt Warner Doug Williams are two that come to mind also it was slightly before my time but wasn't Earl Morrall a backup. It can happen but the rest of the team has to be stackedHow many times has a team won a Super Bowl after their starting QB went down? How about in the past 20 years? I think it would be a bit unfair to just give up on a season but I would definitely lower my expectations if Flacco went down for the season(Really hope he doesn't(knocks on wood)) and we had to throw a backup in. That's not me "hating on a backup", that is me coming to terms with the reality that we just took a big hit at the most important position in the game more likely than not.
Yeah I was calling for his job too, in hindsight how much was the Gino Shipley Oher combo and how much was Rice's injury/slowing down a part and Pierce being not as good as e was as a rookie. The line this year was awesome but Having KO back certainly helped as well as a good runner in Forsett.
I don't think we will need Brooks at nickel CB we will get Asa back with Melvin. Barring a rash of injuries like last year lets leave CBs playing CBWell since Brooks will be on the PUP list to start the season, Lewis gives us a FS who can play right away solving that issue. Hill plays SS and as long as he doesn't get swiped by another team, I like our Safety situation. As for Brooks, my theory is he may end up being our Nickel corner when he returns giving us solid corner depth and being groomed to play corner opposite of Jimmy when Webb's contract no longer becomes affordable.
Pollard was the Patriot killer blew out Baby's knee Welker concussion and Gronk's ankle. Please don't start with Ellerbe he was terrible without Ray next to him like all the other LBs that left for big money.and D Smith can still play and play well. I do agree e need someone to be an enforcer in the middle of the field
You say crazy but its a possibility I can't remember what kind of speed he has I know good for a LB but I don't now if he has enough to make it as a safety but I like the thought process. I mean can he tackle better than Elam I say I like the idea I just don't know if it would workI only see him panning out if he can actually keep weight on, but that is doubtful. That's why he left Miami. He couldn't keep on weight so they told him he wouldn't play.
I could see him pan out as a nickel backer, or maybe as a 4-3 Will, or maybe Mike.
Here's something wild. I'm just throwing ideas out there, and this might be dumb, but what about strong safety? Since he can't keep weight on, and since the worst aspect of his game is run support, why not just let him drop a little weight to play safety? He was sometimes used to cover slot receivers in college. If he dropped weight, would he have the range to be a safety? Again, probably dumb, but I'm just trying to think of a way to get him on the field. If he has the range, safety might actually be the best use of his size/skill set.
I also like Wenning I think he is serviceable as a backup. Having a high dollar backup is not an option for a team like us that is right to the cap also having a durable QB you do not need to spend a ton of money
agreed I think that's the best option myselfI'm really content with Wenning. Unless someone really good comes up late in the draft or as an UDFA, I say go with him.
Overthecap had them listed as ERFA'sAiken and Levine are RFAs, not ERFAs.
That is correct Melvin Aiken and Levine all fall into this category and I hope we resign all 3Rashaan is an exclusive rights free agent according to spotrack ( http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/baltimore-ravens/ ), a typically reliable source. Thus apparently if we offer him a 3 year contract at the vet minimum he either has to take that contract or leave the NFL entirely because we control his rights. Thus I'd say we pretty much have 100% control over him and I couldn't be happier about that
I agree he held up well and I can see him being the 2nd or 3rd CB and allowing us to go BPA. Interesting name I have followed especially if we lose Mcphee, is Eli Harold OLB from Virginia 6-4 250 a monster always in the backfield but also leaves the door open for CB or WR or whatever.That's pretty tough condition to put on a guy with 2 NFL career starts. He's a keeper regardless of what happens on Saturday but if he handles him well, it will let us go BPA in the draft and maybe even get that 1st round WR that we crave for.
I mentioned it in one of the threads but its the Bengals they get away with everything. Gresham being 3 yds downfield and calling Suggs offsides tackling 3 guys outside of the 3 yd wide white area ripping FLacco's helmet off when other QBs get touched with one finger and get roughing calls. Finally Torrey getting mugged and no call either PI or defenseless WR but what do I know
Also I'm fine wit Mosley initially I was not happy wanted to get S 1st but we only had Smith Brown and Bynes on roster so we needed depth plus Smith is 32 plus let Smith teach Moseley and Brown and we should be set at ILB for years. I hate we missed on S but I think I'm fine with the pick
the thing is with WR we have Torrey Steve Jacoby Marlon plus Mellette. Kubiak plays a ton of 2 TE sets so how many WRs do you need. Now is the time to find out what you have with Brown and Mellette. I get Steve isn't a long term option but at most we will be putting 2 WRs on the field at a time in Kubiaks system. So I would fix RT and secondary and grab RB todayStill as disgusted with the pick this morning as I was yesterday. Injury concerns, lack of need for ILB at 17, etc. He is no patrick willis or Kuchely by a long shot and the ravens have and still have much bigger needs. When will Flacco be given some talented weapons? Will they wait till round 5-7 to draft junk WR's again ?
It's an upgrade from where Gino was plus the versatility to play guard as well is intriguing. 22nd out of 35th isn't great but Tampa as a whole the line was bet up so I'm sure that didnt help. Heard that its probably a 2015 6th round pick is speculation.
