CB is very deep this year, WR and O-line not so much. If Corey Davis falls to us (or really anyone that slides that could contribute), I don't see any reason to trade back. I'm definitely not against trading back though, there's just too many factors to go ahead and say that trading will yield the best results. FAs that we could have an interest in are still out there, for instance we might pick up Mangold (just an example), then we don't need a C as badly so we can afford to take a BPA without as much risk. Depth can be found in a lot of ways, we could pick up some UDFAs and have them through training camp and the preseason just to try them out and have some young guys if the need is that bad. Don't get me wrong I like your idea of trying to maximize the gain we get from this class but I only really see a guaranteed good result from the CBs in this draft. I guess we can only really judge once we've seen what players are left on the board.

I'm fine trading back Zay Jones is my favorite WR if we could get an extra 2nd or 3rd I would love it.

  2. If Ducasse qualifies which I doubt I mean a mediocre backup guard probably isn't going to make the cut top 32 FAs count in the comps. Still early but my guess is Jefferson cancels Wagner Woodhead probably isn't big money so maybe a 5th for Juice but with FA still going things will change. Usually overthecap.com shows a graphic about the comp picks after the first week of FA.

I know I meant to say 4.47 but I said 4.7s for some reason lol

You were using scout lingo everyone knows if you are under 300 it's 4 so the .47. I got your back there also thanks for the Jordan Willis scouting report I knew you had probably seen it.

If the Ravens are smart, they will just ignore this and draft TE's anyway. No one we have is worth missing out on a group like this. I would not be upset at all if our first two picks were Howard and Engram.

Talk about instant coffee on offense.

Yeah and when we go 3-13 because we have no pass rush or Joe has no time to throw to the TEs

I think Kupp will be a good receiver. After measurements yesterday though I started to like Juju Smith again. I'm curious to see how he runs. I've known for a while now that the guy blocks like very few receivers can or are willing to, and he's got massive mitts and long arms. With some coaching he could become a terrific football player. I like him, and the Chris Godwin ran the 40 and that made me like Godwin even more. I'd take either or both if possible without ignoring CB and PR

My thing is we have speed in Wallace and BP I want a sure handed big bodied WR I prefer Jones or Kupp but I don't think Jones makes it past the 2nd round.

I never did like Cooper to much. Always felt like he was a pretender.

He is a solid route runner who uses his body well and uses his body to get separation and has solid hands but I wish he was slightly faster

Juice isn't nearly the athlete Engram is. Engram is very elusive in the open and catches like a receiver can.

So what CB or passrusher that we really need will we pass up for a position that is not a need. If you are talking an athlete at that position we have Waller who ran a 4.4 40.

Engram is interesting. He could be lined up at Fullback next to running back. He could be a real weapon receiving out of backfield and blocking. Defenses never covered that kind of speed and athleticism from a fullback

He would totally roast LB's out of the backfield. He could be a weapon lead blocking for Dixon. He could even carry the ball to keep defenses guessing. Dixon and Engram in the backfield would create so many mismatches.

Then if Max Williams could ever get it together the ravens could run a very explosive version of the W.C.O. With a fullback far more explosive than any Fullback in the most successful WC offenses of previous. Engram could be as potent and productive as a WR from the Fullback position. Engram and Williams  would be quite a tandem at TE and Fullback. Then you factor in Dixon's receiving skills  and it throws a lot at opposing defenses to consider

That is what Juice does I know he is a free agent but the last thing we need is another TE/FB

True, my amateur eye did not like what I saw from Kpassagnon at the Senior Bowl, either. He may be overdrafted but 5th-6th round wouldn't be bad for him.

I would be ok with him around the 5th round

    Chance of happening?

    16: R1P16 - CB MARSHON LATTIMORE - OHIO STATE

    47: R2P15 - G FORREST LAMP - WESTERN KENTUCKY

    78: R3P14 - C PAT ELFLEIN - OHIO STATE

    102: R3P38 - CB HOWARD WILSON -HOUSTON

    121: R4P16 - WR ZAY JONES - EAST CAROLINA

    160: R5P15 - DL TANOH KPASSAGNON - VILLANOVA

    199: R6P14 - EDGE EJUAN PRICE - PITT

    237: R7P16 - RB JAMES CONNER - PITTSBURGH

Probably not. This was with Matt Millers board.

Doing backflips. 2 legit O-line starters with the best playmaking CB my favorite non 1st rd WR 2 solid rushers and my favorite RB in the draft. My only thought is Jones going by the 3rd comp at the latest ad while Wilson isn't my favorite CB I would take him although in that 3rd comp-4th round pick I like Kazee from San Diego St. Or Corn Elder from Miami better

I would be disappointed if we picked Peppers. He doesn't have the play strength to play OLB or even ILB for that matter. He's not enough of a play-maker at FS so his fit might only be as a SS and do we need to take one early at the moment? No. I honestly think Peppers could legit fall out the 1st round, guys like him make to tough on themselves to develop as players when they try to play so many positions, it doesn't allow them to refine and get better at one spot.

The argument against Peppers is too many positions if you bashed KC for playing ILB and OLB then Peppers will be the same deal. I would not take him period he has terrible hands and will not make it as a FS so I feel he is very limited in what he can do.

  12. Here is my problem what has always been the WRs problems can't separate so why get a WR who can't separate that's a bad pick. I like Kupp or Jones way better. Also with your depth chart we have killed Ozzie for not drafting starters but everyone is a backup but Siragusa and Peppers. Also Peppers I am not sold on and I don't think  Siragusa is better than Lewis. I'm ok with Douglas, Jackson and Toth but not thrilled with the rest Fields is ok but very unimpressed.

That small sample of production came on a total of 48 snaps. That's like a full game's worth of defensive snaps. Reports was he started to turn the corner in practice and earning the start in the NYJ game pretty such showed that. Than he got hurt the next week in practice and that basically derailed his season. He's gonna have to put in a lot of work this season, but I expect him to be the starting ILB and it'll actually help him because it'll force the coaches to keep him in one position so he can focus on perfecting his craft. I thought the Ravens asked him to do too much in learning the OLB and ILB positions last year. This will be a huge offseason for him.

That is the key keep him at ILB and let him concentrate and learn one position learning multiple positions was a bad idea as far as it stunted his growth. There was way to much thinking involved for a rookie adjusting to the speed of the game and more advanced schemes is enough for any rookie to process much less learning multiple positions and groupings.

If y'all are going to say that Ryan choked away the game last night, which he didn't, at least say that Flacco choked the game away against the Patriots with two 14 point leads and throwing a pair of interceptions, but nah, Flacco for president because of what he did four years ago. At least Ryan can read defenses at this point of his career.

If he could read a blitz they win. Ryan has had superior talent around him and can do nothing with it. Look at the stats Flacco outplays Brady. Does the name Rashaan Melvin mean anything to you enough said. Joe forced one throw at the end or regulation. He also had Brady beat in the 11 AFCCG until Evans and Cundiff wet the bed.

I am just thanking God we aren't the Falcons tonight! That team and its fan base must be devastated beyond recognition tonight. In a way, the entire football world is devastated too, not because the Falcons lost (who really cares?), but because the dang Patriots won their 5th SB under Brady/Belichick! Unbelievable how they figure out a way to win all these games man! Is Brady that good? Perhaps he is! Is Belichick that good? Perhaps he is too! Are the Pats the best team of the past 50 yrs? How can you argue with the metrics? I'm just hopeful, the Ravens don't suffer the same fate as the Falcons did in any SB should we be fortunate enough to reach it.

Even though they repeatedly used the illegal pick over and over that's only illegal for 31 teams. Seriously though I called about 6 plays that the Patriots ran can I get a D coordinator gig the Pats are predictable and even I could see it but oh well. Can't and the Pats

  16. It is very rare a great player transitions to a great coach because so much of what they personally did can not be taught instincts, work ethic, however Ray would fire up the team and after listening to him and you are not ready to play them you shouldn't be playing. I do believe that Ray's film study and knowledge could make him a great coach.
