  1. Oh Johnny Boy. Not an arrest but Manziel finds himself in the middle of crap again.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/05/heckling-fans-douse-manziel-with-drinks/#comments

Via TMZ.com, the Browns quarterback had an encounter with hecklers at a Houston nightclub. He reportedly flipped them the bird. And they reportedly threw drinks at him.

Manziel reportedly left the club, changed clothes, and then returned after being assured by security that the troublemakers had been given the boot.

Eh... he shouldn't have even given them the time of day, but still... not really his fault.  The guy was just minding his own business.

  2. Money mainly.. And is Vernon a FA this season?

Honestly don't expect us to sign a FA CB unless Jimmy looks rough next summer

If a talented CB is avalible that meets our price range, we're definitely signing them.  And VD is a FA.  Might be too expensive as you said

  3. You know what really impressed me about this kid?  It had to had been after his 1st or 2nd tackle.  The cameras were all panned in on him.  Right after the play...the guy does some gesture I forgot (either a chest bump or a finger point)...and with that gesture, he intentionally riles up the crowd.  This kid has moxy! Pure moxy!  It was his enthusiasm that got me excited.  I pray that he succeeds, because he will be an electrifying player for us in the future.

  4. So a new report is coming out that Jay Gruden may be one and done in Washington. A earlier report said Gruden was 'done' with RG3 as the starter. Now the latest is Snyder, and GM Bruce Allen may side with RG3 and fire Gruden.

So RGMe may get a second coach fired, while Snyder continues to baby him. This only confirms what we have known for years, Snyder is the problem not the coaches or team.

Looks like someones gonna have a new O-coordinator.  But...who wants to coach in D.C. with such an overbearing FO

  5. Why JH go to the train wrecked?

Lots of good team need a right management and leading; JH is the hottest coach in the biz right now if he's ever available.  Chicago would love to have him.....

I think Michigan will build him a mansion and treat him like God if he wants to coach there.

But do you think Harbs really wants to bet on Cutler?  We also have to take into account Harbs family. If his wife wants to stay on the West Coast, they're going to Oakland

  6. I havent seen anyone talk about this but I'm surprised.. They obviously dont call this rule much just like offensive PI's.. I mean it happens people get pushed along but the bengals actually used a designed illegal play where not only the running backs pushed dalton but the LT pulled to get in behind dalton and push.. Here is the nfl rule..

    http://www.nfl.com/rulebook/useofhands

"No player on offense may assist a runner except by blocking for him. There shall be no interlocking interference"

I mean if they blatently dont enforce that why wouldnt you run that play everytime on short yardage and turn it into rugby... Its a easy 2-3 yards.

I'm not here to cry thats why we lost I mean they should not have gotten down there but I mean they actually designed and ran a illegal play... it wasnt something that just happened.

I was wondering this too, but we see it all the time.  I forgot what game it was, but I've seen Hurst pretty much push Forsett into the endzone.  It's not something that's hidden either.  Announcers bring up those plays all the time, but I guess in some way it is a legal play.

  7. My explanation for that is actually his short and relatively weak arms. Because his arms are short, longer and stronger armed defensive linemen can create space between himself and Urschel. This prevents Urschel from firmly locking onto the target, and it eliminates his leverage advantage. As a result, he can't get as strong a push.

I've noticed that when Urschel gets a good punch and gets extension, he drives the guy with ease. But when the DT gets extension and Urschel doesn't get a good punch, he doesn't drive the guy as well.

Don't know why you got so many negatives for such an insightful comment.  I'd rather see more post such as yours that explain the technical aspects of football more than reading the countless whining and needless doubt posts I read from others.

  8. So I wonder how many of these are on a tryout basis vs. an actual contract signing.

Time will soon tell.  One thing that sucks is that it's really hard to find good footage on a lot of these guys, Makes it harder for us fans to see what these guys are about prior to training camp

  9. Steelers get Dri Archer and Martavis Bryant. Browns get West and Desir. We get a TE in the 3rd who would still be on the board now and a bum rb. Total incompetence to pick Gillmore that high, not a single TE taken in the entire 4th round. We could've had Andre Williams, a legit power back that would've been great depth and our short yardage back. Or Desir who would've competed for our #3 cb spot and been a good ST'er.

I'm blowing a gasket looking back at how we squandered that pick and absolutely fell on our face since the Terrence Brooks pick. I'm actually embarrassed, the Browns have drafted better then us in the mid rounds. All those quality rb's and we miss out on every single one. Shameful day 3, absolute failure every step of the way starting with our 3rd round comp pick. There's no way you can argue that Andre Williams wasn't a better pick at that point? When a fan can do the scouts job better then the scouts something is very wrong.

How did fans do a better job?  The season hasn't even started, so how do you know which players will bring more production to their teams?
