  1. Blame Pees huh? You think Rex would do better? Pagano? Wade? We don't have the personnel to even press a sandwich together. The coach can only do so much. Ozzie is the only one who can fix that secondary.

Exactly! And we had Cam! Exact same situation.

    3. Ravenslifer

      Ravenslifer

@redrum52 we've spent plenty of picks on the secondary. From 09-14 we've had 18 draft picks first 3 rounds not including the comp for Gilmore. We've spent 2 first rounders and 2 3rd rounders on secondary players or 22 percent of all picks. If we include pass rushers, that's another 3 picks, total of over 40 percent of early draft picks on pass defense. As far as offense, from 2008 until now we ranked 11th, 9th, 16th, 12th, 10th, 25th, and are currently 6th in offense this...

This defense will not improve until we see a change in the coaching philosophy. When one scheme isn't working, change it up, disguise it, do something. Not every defense is perfect, but some are just great at masking those weaknesses. That's not Pees' strength.

yea because rob gronkowski isn't a thing

  3. Look at the Broncos and/or Colts forum and you'll find that the fans are saying that their teams are gonna be "one and done" in the postseason. This just goes to show...no matter how good your team is, fans are always ready to write their team off after a loss

@Dom... in their defense, Manning was brought to win a Sb, not have a high season win total. I'd be a little mad as well, considering they're basically going all in, in the short term.

  4. If 2012 was the year of the Rookie QB, 2014 is the year of the Back Up QB

    1. NebraskaRavensFan44

      NebraskaRavensFan44

Which brings the question : Which would you rather have, a Good QB that gets hurt a lot or a Bad QB that never gets injured?

    2. TDubbs

      TDubbs

Personally I want the Good/Solid QB that I can count on game in game out, year in year out. As opposed to a QB like RG3 who shows Elite skill levels and amazing plays, but will always be injury prone.

    3. stampedehero

      stampedehero

I prefer a good back up QB

Looking at their schedule I think they head into the season finale with us at 9-6. Then we break them and they finally draft out of the top 10 lol

  9. If we just, run the ball more... sincerely keep to the running game, then we would have won today and in Indy. Joe is awesome, but Joe and the receiving core can't be our primary motif. Let our running game do the big work. Tone down on Deep throws

    1. Alaska Alaska!

      Alaska Alaska!

We definitely didn't abandon the run. However, I feel like we relied more on the passing game when we should just try to commit more to the run game. Look at our past games. When we have a healthy balance between running the ball and passing, we win. We lose when we break that balance.

    2. rmcjacket23

      rmcjacket23

We threw it 34 times and ran it 26 times. The balance wasn't the issue.

    3. rmcjacket23

      rmcjacket23

What people are asking for isn't really balance... they are asking for run-heavy.

@AZRaven I'd agree on some of the playcalling. Definitely questionable at times.

    3. BmoreBird22

      BmoreBird22

DVOA has the Ravens with the 13th best pass defense. Takes into account down and distance, score, and opponent strength. Just putting that out there.

    4. BmoreBird22

      BmoreBird22

Also, Ravens have the best passer rating allowed in the red zone at 33.3. Next closest? Giants at 73.4

    1. callahan09

      callahan09

Yeah, I think this division is back to being the best in football. If not for 2 really, really close division losses for the Browns, even they look like a good team this year.

  18. When the draft comes, we need to focus heavily on Def...AGAIN!

    1. ravensdfan

      ravensdfan

For the record, I never praised him.

    2. BSHU_Miami

      BSHU_Miami

Neither did I, lets keep drafting defense and not see an improvement....hmmm

    3. Ravenslifer

      Ravenslifer

Why? We've been hitting defense very hard for years - the top 3 picks in each of our last 2 drafts, and the top pick in each of our last 5, have been defensive players. Last time we took offensive player round 1 was Oher, last WR round 1 Clayton (10 years ago next draft). At a certain point, the guys we drafted need to play up to expectations, and we need to think about the long-term future of our offense as well.

  19. LOL @ all of those who keep complaining that we didn't keep Rainey

    1. juanman7

      juanman7

Because of the fumbles? How can he concentrate when his team is getting obliterated. If we had kept him we would have the future running back especially now that Rice is gone. They really did blow it with him.

    2. rmcjacket23

      rmcjacket23

Rainey isn't very good. Vastly inconsistent play, and even on the Bucs, he requires multiple injuries to even get a start.

And no juan, there is no excuse for fumbling twice. Concentration, regardless of the score, shouldn't be an issue for a PROFESSIONAL football player.

  20. Such a much needed win...for the players...the FO...and all of Ravensnation!

  21. LOL even the president of the United States felt "compelled" to make a statement against Ray. That's how you know this thing has gotten way out of hand.

    1. budman

      budman

True. Did he feel compelled to comment about Big Ben and what he did to those women? TWICE. No punishment from the Steelers on that either. Just sayin.

Tell him there are more important matters like taxes, ISIS, Ebola, jobs and a worthless Congress he should concern himself with.

  22. So according to unnamed online article "The Baltimore Ravens are the most despicable sports franchise in America". Looks like we're back to being the 'thugs' of the NFL. Nothing we can do about that I suppose...

    1. SeaHawk

      SeaHawk

We were actually better when we were known as thugs. So this doesn't really hurt my feelings at all. Keep calling us thugs.

    1. ravensdfan

well the early run game looked a lot like last year.

  24. You mean to tell me... that after waiting 7 months, I get to finally see the Ravens play their first season game in a little less than 30 minutes? You mean to tell me that this god-awful wait has finally ended?

  25. I just saw a Bills hype video for this season. I've seen one for the Broncos, Giants, and Eagles.....where's our Ravens Hype video!? I iz sad : (
