Defense provides offense 4 turnovers, holds top scoring offense to 20 points, and yet people complain about Pees? Are you serious?!
@AZRaven I'd agree on some of the playcalling. Definitely questionable at times.
DVOA has the Ravens with the 13th best pass defense. Takes into account down and distance, score, and opponent strength. Just putting that out there.
Also, Ravens have the best passer rating allowed in the red zone at 33.3. Next closest? Giants at 73.4
If we get a convincing win against the Colts, LOOK OUT AFC!
So.... it seems we have a new trend where a blowout occurs in each TNF game
Well the Giants were the away team...
That's what I was asking
It was only a stat from a sports network. That is all. Soon to be forgotten. Baseball has the most insignificant stats.
Go to YouTube and type in "Steve Smith puts Panthers and Dave Gettleman on notice" So BAWS!
When the draft comes, we need to focus heavily on Def...AGAIN!
For the record, I never praised him.
Neither did I, lets keep drafting defense and not see an improvement....hmmm
Why? We've been hitting defense very hard for years - the top 3 picks in each of our last 2 drafts, and the top pick in each of our last 5, have been defensive players. Last time we took offensive player round 1 was Oher, last WR round 1 Clayton (10 years ago next draft). At a certain point, the guys we drafted need to play up to expectations, and we need to think about the long-term future of our offense as well.
LOL @ all of those who keep complaining that we didn't keep Rainey
Because of the fumbles? How can he concentrate when his team is getting obliterated. If we had kept him we would have the future running back especially now that Rice is gone. They really did blow it with him.
Rainey isn't very good. Vastly inconsistent play, and even on the Bucs, he requires multiple injuries to even get a start.
And no juan, there is no excuse for fumbling twice. Concentration, regardless of the score, shouldn't be an issue for a PROFESSIONAL football player.
LOL even the president of the United States felt "compelled" to make a statement against Ray. That's how you know this thing has gotten way out of hand.
So according to unnamed online article "The Baltimore Ravens are the most despicable sports franchise in America". Looks like we're back to being the 'thugs' of the NFL. Nothing we can do about that I suppose...
We were actually better when we were known as thugs. So this doesn't really hurt my feelings at all. Keep calling us thugs.
I have no issue in us being perceived by everyone that way. I just wish our D had that swagger to go with it.
All I gotta to them is what a famous Baltimore QB once said "Talk is cheap, let's go play!"
You mean to tell me... that after waiting 7 months, I get to finally see the Ravens play their first season game in a little less than 30 minutes? You mean to tell me that this god-awful wait has finally ended?
I just saw a Bills hype video for this season. I've seen one for the Broncos, Giants, and Eagles.....where's our Ravens Hype video!? I iz sad : (
It's just not the same as fan made ones : (
True but I actually thought this one on-site was pretty darn good.
Indeed in it was/is pretty good!
Y'know what's the worst part of this draft? It's the fact that we're gonna have to deal with all of the disgruntled comments about the draft all the way until the season starts. We get it. You don't like the results of the draft, but how long do you have to keep telling us that? Show us mercy please.
That's because the Ravens didn't envision having Pitta go down or an anemic run game. The offense had carried them through the previous season while the defense was historically bad. The offense only lost Boldin and Birk, so there wasn't a reason to believe that there would be a drop off of epic proportions, but injuries will do that to a unit
Yes injuries will do that when you have zero depth. Sure, there will be a drop off with injuries anyway usually. But not that big if you have any depth at all. Now we get to my point - we still have zero depth.
They didn't have great depth on defense, but they dedicated free agency to the offense and the draft to the offense. They didn't just neglect the offense
Maybe it's good that many of you are in a frantic state. Best to go into the season with low expectations and get your mind blown away if we're awesome!
A lot of the highly acclaimed 1st round players also have an injury bug. Even Calvin Johnson gets injured. Secondly, Brown doesn't need to be a #1 receiver. The Ravens don't need to be a top 10 offense. They just need to have a fluid offense. Rather have a dominate defense and a scoring/game managing offense than vice versa.
so basically you would be ok with 2 number 2 WRs in the future because that's what it looks like
Maybe we just can't develop #1 receivers, which is why we end up bringing in vet WR (who end up being the #1). But you know what? That formula has worked for us in the past. If anything, I'm more concerned about RB than a receiver.
