And, as far as play-makers go... I'm pretty sure we're all gonna love what Matt Elam is gonna do closer to the line of scrimmage. Two great pass rushers, two great instinctive linebackers, and Matt Elam making plays close to the line of scrimmage... I'm looking forward to that. The only position I'm nervous about is the FS position. Gotta get someone on the backend. Question is... who's gonna panic if we take Timmy Jernigan or Stephon Tuitt in the second round and don't go for a FS or OL?
I'm starting to love this pick... This was an awesome pick. If he's anything close to Luke Kuechly, we've got one heck of a football player. His movements remind me of Ed Reed for some reason. He's one athletic guy. I'm still worried about FS, though. Still confident we'll get a good offensive lineman. And I still believe in the depth at WR and DL.
I honestly thought Khairi Fortt from Cal was better than Mosley... but I'm not the one interviewing these guys and studying film after film on these guys. We're basically watching highlight film on these guys. We've got a lot of armchair GM's on here that are just repeating what these "experts" on television say. Calling for Ozzie's job? Seriously?
Now we have up the middle... Ngata, B-Will, D. Smith, CJ Mosley, Matt Elam, and we'll add a safety in a later round. Defenses win championships, and are built "up the middle". Ozzie will get the safety that HE wants...
I like the pick... probably would have picked Ha Ha, but there are a few other safeties I'd be happy with. By all accounts, Mosley is the best linebacker in the draft... and we definitely needed a stud linebacker. I still think there's great depth at WR and DT, so no worries there. I'm also wondering when the second wave of offensive tackles will start to come off the board. Would be happy to pick up David Yankey in the second... very versatile lineman.
