  1. I agree 100 percent as I wouldn't trade Jernigan for anything less than a second. And no one is giving up more than a 3rd for him. So let's at least have him for a good year and see what happens then. It scares me that our FO probably looks at it another way. A third this year is as good as a second next year if we flip it. A second next year is as good as a late first the year after that.(That's when we cash in on Jernigans comp if we get one) 1- a third this year or even a 4th is much more valuable than a 3rd comp 3 drafts away. 2- there's always a chance that a player gets hurt or suspended and crushes his value in FA where our beloved comp turns into a 4th or worse. 3- looking at next year's FA, if Jernigan is out of the picture then there really isn't anyone that could yield us a third round comp. That basically means walking into FA with no limitations other than the salary cap. Imagine walking into FA with 30 millionish to spend and no comp to protect. Ozzie is probably drooling already at that thought. im on your side of the boat regarding Jernigans situation. I'd hate it if we trade him away for a third or fourth but I wouldn't be completely surprised if Ozzie pulls the trigger. It's simple risk vs reward. Call it being conservative and I hate it but it's definitely logical.
  2. Heck il bite as well! John Ross is the fastest player in the history of the combine. But just looking at his film I don't see that speed.... hes fast, real fast, but doesn't have that same game speed. Il also add that his route running isn't where it needs to be. He'd be a steal for someone in the second round but damn would it be disappointing to whoever drafts him in the top 15. He's not a big WR nor have I seen enough elusiveness that someone like a Brandon cooks had coming out of college. theres a chance that Ross turns into the best receiver the NFL has ever seen but I don't think that chance is worth a top 10-15 pick. The risk is just too high! Heck the guy cramped up after 1 run in the combine lol cam Robinson is probably the best RT in this class. I absolutely agree, you don't take a RT 16th overall! If you asked me a month ago I probably would have celebrated. But now his measurables make it hard to justify.
  3. 36 players is not a low number at all. Say 8 draft picks (Jernigan, Mosley, Gilmore) that's 47. Only 4 roster spots to fill. i absolutely agree I'm also not buying into the trade talk. Just doesn't make sense at the moment. if your committing 25 mil on the 2 players then he'll no. That's like saying Jernigan will get a 15 mil per year deal. Let him walk and il gladly take another year of cheap production along with s third round comp. I'm thinking 18 mil between the two is fair if we have a top 5 defense
  4. Oh lord. You guys have already checked out lol Sunday morning would be the day after "April fools"
  5. I'm still hoping to wake up sun morning and read "April Fools! board not going anywhere"
  6. Wow, that Lombardi statement was all over the place! 1- Jernigan is not like guy, he's probably going to demand more than double guy made in free agency! 2- the Ravens can afford to keep Jernigan as they have upwards 35 mil to spend next year and basically only Mosley and Wallace to sign. 3- then he claims the Ravens can't pay him because they payed Williams wich also has nothing to do with Jernigan. 4- finally he suggests moving on with Pierce and Williams when Pierce doesn't even play Jernigans position! is this guy serious?
  7. It's ok you dont have to be so politically correct..... the refs are HORRIBlE at making judgement calls and would blunder game after game if we put this in their hands lol
  8. Great post! I agree on the difficulties of scaling a developmental league. I think owners should fund a developmental league because the benefits are undeniable. If owners really adopted such an idea then it could be watchable. This is all wishful thinking but I'd probably tune in a league with manziel QBing one team and Cutler another. Look around, so many Qbs could use a glorified tryout. I'd also like to see some of the Ravens ps players that wev kept. Maybe play some rookies we draft this year to spice up things. this could be interesting. It won't be NFL level but the competition would surely be tougher than college where rookies can benefit from the transition. heck maybe have a mini combine type of workout where vets show up and get measured to see where theyr at this point in their career.
  9. I agree. NFL cbs will abuse that rule
  10. At first I wished we'd land someone like Brown for the sake of improving the team. Now I want the Ravens to sign Brown purely for your persistence lol id kill to see your post when that signing is announced 😜
  11. The likes of mangold and Clady don't count against the comp pick formula. I'd be dissapointed if they sign team friendly contracts elsewhere.
  12. Yes. 10 mil if I'm not mistaken
  13. Yezzir!! I'm hoping were dangerous in 2017 as well lol
  14. We actually would have 43 mil if Mosley isn't included. Also realistically, the draft picks and FA we get are also gonna dip into that number but we still have a solid 30 mil and a lil more if we free up some. i also agree on the Mosley part. We shouldn't wait till it's too late to extend his contract. I don't think he has anything else left to prove he's a keeper. and yes, we are finally over the salary cap hell we put ourselves into after the SB.
  15. Yes he can, we have 35 mil in cap space next year! And Mosley is under contract for at least one more year so Brandon's deal has nothing to do with the Jernigan decision. i also wish he'd keep it together for 16 games. Seriously, if he did then he'd be talking 15 mil a year kind of money and that would be hard to justify. I'm happy if we hand him a 8-10 mil a year deal for the potential of him getting it together. We all know he has flashes of "greatness" in him. jernigan is a guy id love to keep, especially that we don't have to go out of our way to keep him.
  16. Your absolutely right regarding assets now vs later. A late third this year is as valuable as a late second next year. That said, I'd still be dissapointed if we let go of Jernigan for a third rounder. everyone here is saying it like we can just draft a third rounder and teplace Jernigans production. Heck wev done that that past few years (Davis, Kafusi, Lewis, and Urban) all drafted in the 3rd and 4th rounds but none have come close to beating Jernigan out for playing time. if it ain't broke don't fix it. Let Jernigan play out the year. We already have positions we need to upgrade. Let's not add another one.
  17. Exactly. Keep him for a year and get a comp third in return if he prices himself out. I also don't see a trade worth it unless we get a second and that's highly unlikely
  18. Yes they are first round talent but I'm hoping for top 10 talent to fall to us
  19. Nice! It's like you and I are watching the same film
  20. That would be so counterproductive. I hate it!
  21. Wow tough question. I honestly would be happy with any of the 12. Idk I'd have to go pass rush. Garrett, Allen, and Thomas are just animals but probably going top 5. Hooker and Adams are also Animals! But probably won't fall out of the top 10. that leaves 1-CB Lattimore 2- CB Humphries (I know Iv been raving about the CBs in the second but if one of these 2 falls I take all that back. These 2 are shut up and "change your plan" type players) 3- ILB Foster (just imagining him and Mosley gives me shivers) 4- Williams WR 5- Lattimore RB 6- ramzchak OL (however it's spelled lol) 7- Davis WR thats my preference at the moment you?
  22. Oh my my. I'm already licking my chops... It's gonna be a delicious second round indeed
  23. Please watch Ryan Andersons OLB Alabama film. Tell me he's not Suggs 2.0......
  24. I agree on the talent from16-50. Those guys are impressive but please excuse my greed. If the stars align, we get a top 10 talent at 16 and a first round talent in the second. Heck move up a few picks in the second if you have to.
  25. Great post. you listed 9 guys that are absolutely top 10 talents and I'd add 3 more guys to the list as home runs if we can land one. ILB Foster CB Lattimore, Humphfries S Adams, Hooker RB Lattimore WR Williams, Davis OT Ramszcysk il also add Garrett, Solomon Thomas, and Allen who are probably no brainers at this point (just to make the list 12 players) that are worth taking regardless of what we have on our roster. Let's call these guys (1A) Robinson, Ross, Cook, and Barnett are good players to pick at 16 but each one has a little dent on his full package. Let's call these guys (1B) I would start rooting for the guy day one but my greed wants (1A) the way I look at it is that we need 4 guys outside of 1A to get drafted in the top 15 in order for us to land a 1A guy. Someone like Quincy Wilson CB Fla or Howard TE Alabama. Maybe a QB or two in the top 15 would be nice. Any of the 12 listed (1A) would feel like CJ Mosley all over again and I'd celebrate winning the draft early.
