Is it risky to take a guy that's stupid enough to smoke half a gram of weed in his car with 3 friends. Yeah I won't argue that part. I'd like to reduce the risks when drafting someone with our first round pick. I just like you to know he's not the first or last college kid to have weed with him or someone in his car. Your critisim here is fair.
On the other hand, your narrative of "a guy with a gun cruising around in Baltimore" is such a misinformed, ill advised, ignorant, statement.. It's actually a bit insulting when you say it like anyone with a gun is gonna drive around shooting at kids or something. i don't mean to insult you in any way but I have to elaborate because some people are going to read your statement and may belive the narrative you may have implied.
There are almost 300 million guns in America. It's estimated that a quarter of Americans own one. Some keep it in the garage, others in their car, and some carry it with them all the time. I'm not one that owns a gun because Iv never felt the need for one. But I certainly understand and respect why some people feel the need to carry one. Next time you go to a restaurant with 40 people sitting. Know that at least 4 of them have a gun on them. Depending on the state, city, and neighborhood, that number could go up to 50%. As a matter of fact, it gave me comfort as a student in college knowing that at least A few of my classmates had guns on them. Of course I wouldn't be if I knew who they were but that's why it's against the law to say it or even allow your gun to be visible.
I honestly don't know the laws in Luisiana but I can only assume that the half gram was legal because there were 4 people in the car and two of them went home. If it was a non tolerant state like Florida then all 4 would have been arrested and the least they get off with is community service. I can't defend Robinsons stupidity because if you wanted to smoke weed then just turn on the damn TV and order pizza for all I care. If Robinson falls to the end of the first or even the second round the. He absolutely deserves it for being an ideot.
to be fair on the gun part, I read a few conflicting reports so it's hard to say what happened exactly. It looks like both driver and passenger had guns concieled and to their credit, they told the officer something like "hey my hands are up but I wanted to let you know that I have a gun so this doesn't get weird" then went on to point the gun out and handed it over to the cops. I think that's actually a smart thing to do. That is absolutely a no story
