  1. I wonder exactly what you are wondering..... Monroe didn't miss significant time because of injury but he played banged up for the majority of his time at Baltimore. Most of his injuries were bad luck like this or when he got rolled up on. But it leaves me to wonder why hes always in a position to get unlucky? Whether we like it or not, Monroe is staying here for this season and next because of the contract he signed. We don't need Monroe to be he next Yanda or KO but seriously bro carry your own weight and contribute like the 8 mil man that you are.
  2. I love SSS senior back there. He's probably the returner on this squad. I wish harbs plays him one more game just to prove that he's legit as a returner the. Hand the job to camp or whoever until the playoffs come. Then it's work risking...
  3. I don't care if it's Carr or if Gannon comes back from retirement. If we don't crush the Raiders then I'm gonna shoot myself.
  4. I love how everyone is brushing away Suggs injury like it's no big deal and wish I had your positive spin. It's true that Suggs is on the decline but he's declining from the best Defensive Player in the NFL not too long ago. He's the best edge setter, screen disturber, on this team. He's smart, reeeeeal smart on the football field. Makes everyone around him. You guys forget that he had double digit sacks while attracting most of the double teams. Thus doom blossomed. We lost a guy that every opponent had to game plan against or he'd just wreck the game. He's still a top 10 guy in this league and would start on 31 other teams. The D looked beautiful last night. I loved it. But loosing Suggs was a huge blow. We even felt his loss in the 4th quarter...... I just hope we haven't seen the last of him. This injury sucks! It's a year till he can play again and another year till he's 100 percent. Even if he starts week 1 he'll only have 70-80 percent of his quickness. I'm glad this unit is deep and talented all across but I'm bummed.
  5. Finally some objectivity around here! Yeah we all love Joe and are glad he's our QB but he's not the most accurate out there. He rarely hits his WRs in stride. I've been saying this for years and no one wants to accept the fact. This game is on Joe. 9 of his 18 completions were to backfield guys. Put down the purple cool aid guys because Joe himself would admit that this game is on him. Time to get back to work!
  6. Maxx is a great guy and easily the best TE in this weak TE class. Hes probably not the Gronk or Graham type of a player (potential) because those 2 are just freaks of nature. But he certainly more physically gifted than Pitta and most NFL TE's. I am one that doubts a lot of Ravens moves but TE is a position that I simply can never doubt. Ozzie has always fielded a top 10 TE crew including last year when pitta went down. Just this offseason, Ozzie passed on a few descent catching TE before the draft and passed on trading peanuts for a VET like Vernon Davis or so. This leads me to believe that Ozzie and them have 100% faith in who we have. 3 rescently drafted guys and a Pitta if he ever comes back. I'm always a bit skeptical when my team fields 3 TE's with a total of 10 NFL catches but Ozzie's record is perfect with TE so il shut up. Now if we talk secondary then we have an issue! The NFL has evolved and most sucessful teams use 3 WR 65% of the time. That means we need 3 quality CB's. As things stand, we have 1 and a half. i took the half off coz both J.Smith and L.Webb are so injury prone. Every time one goes down, we are left with 1 solid CB and 2 below average guys that get exposed! To my understanding, the ravens have acquired 2 draft picks by trading away Gino Gradk and the other center. We will most likely get 3-4 good comp picks leaving us with 12-13 picks ahead of next years draft. We have the ammo and cap space. Make it happen Ozzie!
  7. I hate the fact that the Ravens passed on a 5'9 Brandon Flowers when he became available last year and perhaps passed on a trip to the super bowl. Brown and Asa Jackson and oh my god I don't even want to remember...
  8. I agree that it's hard to carry both a designated returner and a long snapper that do nothing else. But you are being a bit too dismissive of a few undeniable facts. 1- in 2012 a Denver returner almost cost us the game. 2- Some can argue the Ravens wouldn't have beaten the niners without jacoby. 3- yards per return are unfair because when Hester was in his prime, he may have only averaged a few more yards per return but every team kicked out of bounds or fly balls to deny him from getting a chance. Punts were shorter and when you take into account all aspects it's not just a few yards. 4- a good returner makes smart decisions that don't count on the stat chart but could drastically affect a game. 5- in a 16 game tough schedule a team has 4-6 or even 8 games where a call here or a play there makes a huge difference. Having a elite returner could be the difference between winning a game or 2. 6- I've seen games where the bears were just horrendous. They would literally have 2 good drives. A few points off turnovers. And 2 nice returns from Hester that led to long field goals and the miserable bears got through. A solid returner won't help you win a shoot out but can certainly help your cause in a nasty low scoring trench war in the AFC north. I hope that letting Jacoby go to save 750,000 in cap space doesn't haunt us. I'd normally have Jacobys back but the guy literally dropped more balls than catches for the majority of last season lol. Bottom line is someone needs to step up real soon or we may have a problem. Harbs takes pride in fielding the best punter, kicker, long snapper, and I'd be shocked if he just goes with a pedestrian returner
  9. No shame brother it just makes victory a whole lot sweeter
  10. Oh man that would make my summer! Will and Kam would set the tempo every game with 2 or 3 big hits. Oh and have I mentioned that they both can take on any TE in the NFL and Blitz like LBers. Our hybrid D would be nasty and unpredictable...
  11. I respect Fred Jackson a lot as a player and as a man. That said, I don't think he stays in the division as hes too loyal to his Bills. I'v read a report that the Seahawks are front runners and he could be signed today. The Ravens have also shown interest. I honestly don't know what he can bring to the Ravens that we don't already have. After all he is 34 years old and probably has lost a few steps. This means that Lorenzo Tall's injury is more concerning that reported. The Ravens have options tho..... Steven Jackson is sitting at home and averaged 3.7 yards for 2 years behind the horrendous Falcons line. He'd instantly be our best short yard back and could mentor LT when hes back. A few more RB's will be available as the season gets closer so im not worried at all. I just hope the Ravens make the right call on whoever we bring because we probably have to let go of someone we drafted over the past few years.
  12. If Ozzie makes a move?? I'd be disappointed if he didn't make a move! In the past two years, Ozzie has quietly put together a young solid foundation to build around. I say he did exceptional with what he had. And that was with his hands tied behind his back with all the injuries and dead money. Just to keep things simple, hes had 2 great drafts and stolen a few gems in FA that he should get arrested for. D.Smith, Forsett, W.Hill, and the list goes on..... Every year around this time, Ozzie has rewarded us with a legit starter. One year it was Monroe and the next was Zuttah. Doom was just icing on the cake as the Broncos screwed up and Ozzie came flying. I expect another trade and it could be anywhere in the secondary as this unit has star power in Hill and J.Smith. It just needs one more solid guy that doesn't make mistakes. In a perfect world, Id make a run at someone like Kam Chancellor who is on the block and would instantly make this secondary one of the best in the NFL. But realistically speaking, we could move for someone like Husain Abdullah who played great for the Chiefs when they had injuries and is now excess of requirement. Iv read reports regarding the Ravins and Fred Jackson. That means LT will miss some time. I'm hoping Fred signs for the Seahawks. I don't see how he can help this team? I would take a good look at Trent Richardson and Steven Jackson who are sitting at home. They can both potentially fill the void LT left in short yard situations. I swear Steven Jackson can teach LT a few things by the end of the year. Dline was our deepest position before pre season started but injuries have taken a toll. Carl Davis may not be ready to step up as a starter by opening day but I'll take my chances with B.Williams C.Canty and Jernigan untill either Carl and KLM breaks through. Yes I said it. KLM is looking better every week. Oline is set in my opinion. All i hope for is that J.Ried gets bumped to the practice squad and a vet comes in to backup our starters in case of serious injuries. WR is where I'm skeptical. I was and still remain Perrimans #1 fan. I'm also a realist when I believe that hell have growing pains. Hes never had an NFL snap and transitioning from UCF to the AFC North is no easy task. I hope hes healthy and gets the NFL before the playoffs come and he can contribute then. Untill then, IDK if we can roll with SSS and no Camp or Perriman and an underachieving group of WRs. Im really intrigued at what will happen within the next 5 days. RMC, BIO, Alaskan, Joe Flac, Huntrg, Dorota I would appreciate your input
  13. Your right. As things stand, if Mosley or Smith goes down (knocking on wood) Orr would probably get the nod. But Brown certainly has a lot more potential. 2 or 3 years down the road Brown could be a quality starter while Orr probably won't get much more than a quality backup role
  14. I really thought Brown was a first round talent that fell to the second and was delighted when Ozzie moved up for him. Like many have said here 1- he's a freakishly unique athlete. He's really really fast and can tackle. I'm surprised it took him this long to realize he needed to gain 15 pounds of muscle. 2- he has a much higher ceiling than Orr and will be a quality starter in this league. Eventually the game will slow down for him as his technique improves. I hope it happens with the Ravens rather than somewhere else. 3- and no I don't want a com pick from him. That's magic when a late draft pick prices himself out not when a high draft pick blossoms late. Bottom line is. Brown and Upshaw could make this Linebacking Crew the deepest in the NFL if they pan out and stay home.
  15. I don't usually call people out like this but in Jah Ried's case I'm gonna say it. It's been quite some time now and this brother just can't get it together! Every time he starts picking up momentum 1 of 3 things happen. The guy is gets hurt, in trouble off field, or draws penalties and almost gets quarterbacks killed. The Ravens have drafted like 40 players since he was drafted. I'd hate to see someone let go because we kept him on the roster instead of the PS. Id make him the first guy on the PS and if some other team clears his waivers then so be it.
  16. Dear Baltimoreravens.com, May we get an article summing up the players that have been released over the past few days that the Ravens could be looking at right now? Out of the back of my head. 1- Trent Richardson RB 2- CB from the Bears 3- FS from the Giants 4- OL from the Colts 5- Okoye from the 49ers Dline Idk if any of these guys would start for the Ravens but could provide some quality depth. Okoye is probably gonna be on someone's PS because the guy just started playing football 2 years ago. But the guy is faster than most linebackers in the NFL and stronger than most linemen. We develop Dlinemen better than anyone and I wouldn't be surprised if we could turn him into a gem.
  17. That's part of it. modern medicine and science has taught us how to get muscles to be 3-5 times bigger and stronger than they are supposed to be. Modern medicine didn't teach us know how to strengthen an ACL or tendons or even bone mass. My million dollar question is. Why is the NFL forcing players to hit lower and lower knowing that significant injuries are a direct result? "Defenseless Receiver" rule is a joke! Tell me one WR on this planet that would rather take a hit under his waist when hes not looking instead of taking a blow "closer to his head" How about spending a few million dollars RnD and come up with helmets that really prevent concussions. How about a helmet that's not a weapon? IDK maybe a helmet that has support both inside and outside to relieve the blow thrown by the tackler. Imagine wearing a pillow for a helmet. How hard can you headbutt someone? but you can still put your shoulder down and cave someones chest in. The NFL took the cheap easy rout and just eliminated high hits. The result is more ACL MCL and torn achillis and broken hips and ankles. Why am i not surprised that the NFL is more concerned to defend its back in court over players safety?
  18. Totally agree. Those 360 cameras are insane! I remember being a kid and that technology was used for the Ravens Giants Super Bowl. iDK why the NFL got rid of them as other sports like tennis picked up the idea for replays etc... Glad it's cost effective now 15 years later lol
  19. It's preseason. Everything gets called back in a week or so. But one heck of a play penalty or not! That was my play of the day....
  20. 1- Our secondary needed help! 2- Our secondary needs help! 3- Our secondary still needs help! And don't tell me they just need to get healthy. What facts did that assumption come from...... J.Smith is awesome when healthy. Webb is awesome when healthy. Hill is awesome when healthy. But lets face it. Based on their record, they will miss time due to inury or suspension. What do we do then? Lewis, Arrington, Levine, Waller, Melvin, and Brooks are not there yet. They may step up for a game or two but they are not starting caliber secondary guys for a team aspiring to reach the Super Bowl. Truth hurts but it must be said by someone.....
  21. Just one side comment. What happened to disguising a Blitz? It seemed like every time we send extra men to the Quarterback, the whole building knew it was coming. If my mamma knows a Blitz is coming from a TV screen thousands of miles away then the opposing quarterback sure as hell knows its coming....
  22. Its probably more of a pipe dream but Kam Chancellor is approaching a month of holding out. It doesn't seem like either side is willing to back down for various reasons. At this point, The Seahawks will trade peanuts for him. Will Hill is the only Safety on this squad that is battle ready at this point. Please Ozzie PLEASE i beg you to make a move for Kam.
  23. Flacco got roughed up just one play after the scuffle. Am I the only one that noticed that? The Oline just watched as their quarterback got hit late for no reason. No that should have been a ejection or a fight. For real man teams should never impose their will on us. Not at home at least....
  24. I actually respected the fact that SSS showed no backing down. If the refs won't stop this nonsense in preseason then someone needs to step up. The Redskins were hitting late all game and no one was fighting back except Gilmore and a selected few. After the ejection, they went straight to Flacco with a roughing the passer. That's 80% on the refs and 20% on our Oline for not showing up. I don't like giving away penalties and stuff like that but if you go for my quarterback one play after a scuffle then it's on! Our Oline should have had flaccos back right there when it happened.
