  1. I literally love Howard as a prospect. He's gonna do some damage in the NFL but I'm afraid he's not our guy. Just wrong time and place for him and us.
  2. His pro day numbers were almost identical to his combine so we can throw that argument out. Barnett is probably a top 5 talent to 4-3 teams. His burst is not comparable to elite 3-4 OLBs so don't expect him to have a 16 sack season anytime soon. But I do like the fact that we play hybrid and line up in a 4-3 set about 40 percent of the time so Barnett would play both very well. Very similar to Suggs, he'd set the edge as well as anyone and his motor is insane! I'm still a lil on the fence on this guy being a top 10 talent to a 3-4 team but surely wouldn't mind having him as he'd be a perfect long term replacement to Suggs.
  3. So Webbs contract is virtually a 6.3 million deal over three years with incentives that could escapade it to 10.5. he really took a hometown discount to remain a raven
  4. I don't mind either. just don't reach for Ross of theyr both gone. We should land a top 10 talent regarless of the position.
  5. Rooney would walk to the Ravens locker room to congratulate them and wish them luck?!! If sportsmanship had a definition then it would start with Dan. RIP
  6. Michael Floyd is still out there and I don't know why our FO haven't taken a look at him. After all, he is a former first rounder, 6'3 , only 27 years old, and can put up some stats when his head is in the right place. I know it's a Floyd video but go to 3:32 and watch the block Fitzgerald throws....
  7. I really like Maclin as a player and think he's a better overall WR than Wallace considering that he catches passes from A.Smith. It would definitely be an intriguing move if Ozzie pulls it off but I don't think he's as fast as Wallace and I highly doubt our FO picking up his contract. He'd cost around 10 mil a year and that may be a bit over our budget
  8. I agree. Alabama players often get drafted higher than they should because they get so much attention and Ozzie sometimes likes his Bama guys to a fault. But I went and watched some Bama film and I really think this year is a different scenario. This Alabama class is probably the best they ever had. Certainly the best Iv seen. We're talking 7 guys that could go in the top 50!
  9. I had high hopes for Kafusi last year but this year we almost need him to step up.
  10. Indeed. He's just NASTY!!! comparing this year's pass rushers to last year is like day and night. Last year, there were a few guys who separated themselves and a whole bunch of half stupid guys that may never make a pro bowl. This year there are at least 6 guys that I think would have gone in the first round last year and their teams would have celebrated. If we don't land a pass rusher within our first 2 picks then I'm throwing a tantrum!
  11. Great post. It really disturbs me when I see paid analysts on ESPN and NFL network echo those same things. Stuff like "Fournette may not last too long in the NFL" damn son..... When did you become God all of a sudden? Lol
  12. That's so unrealistic in so many ways but if the Browns had the option to get Flacco for their top picks then they probably do it in a heartbeat. Theyd also pull the trigger for 10 other QBs currently in the NFL. No price that's too expensive to land a Franchise QB. theres no cap space to be made by trading Flacco this year or the next because of the way the contract is structured. But seriously. I'd have Tucker play QB before I give Cutler a call. Flacco is our guy for the next 3 years at least so we gotta surround him with talent, scheme around his strengths, suck it up and hope for the best
  13. He's not the best rout runner in this class nor was he asked to run crisp routs in college as he played for a mediocre school and just outran everyone. It's unfair to question his toughness but he is a smaller guy and injuries could be a concern. no one is knocking his speed but he doesn't offer much more than we already have on the squad. That's probably why many, including myself would be dissapointed if thats who we take. If we go WR I'd hope we get one of the top 2 guys who are less of a risk and are comfortable catching the ball inside the numbers. A trait we lack at the moment
  14. Call me crazy but I think this class could be the best Alabama class ever. 7 guys could potentially be drafted in the first 50 picks and all 7 could make a pro bowl sooner than later. Watching film on these guys is so much fun.
  15. I absolutely agree. We should be favorites against the Vikings, Titans, and Jags. But what I really want is to beat the damn Raiders. i know theyr a much improved team but I still can't get over the fact that the "Raiders" beat us twice in a row. If someone claimed that the Raiders would potentially beat the Ravens 3 times in a row just 5 years ago I would have giggled till my stomach cramped. I hope the team takes it as a personal challenge then rise to the occasion
  16. Lmao! Finally some sarcasm in the building lol
  17. I also agree that 7.25 is a bit steep but don't expect him to sign a SSS kind of deal. We got smart and a boy lucky with that. i also would like to add that Jeffry is making a guaranteed 9.5 million this year and has an extra 4.5 million in incentives which could make his salary 14 mil in total. That's twice the current price of decker
  18. Not too bad an option of the price is right. B.Marshall is a better receiver but that was never an option due to the fact that he wants to stay in NY. Decker is 6'3 and is a great rout runner that gladly goes inside. He'd definitely fit that mold. Take out last season that he missed due to injury and he's has 4000 yards and 40 TDs the 4 years prior. I actually wouldn't mind if we give up a conditional 6th or 7th to ensure landing him. Sure the 7.5 mil salary is a bit steep but none of it is guaranteed so we can negotiate or cut ties with him if he doesn't play up to his price. Low risk, high reward! Liked!
  19. For Flaccos sake, I really hope it's not a rookie.
  20. And once again your putting words in my mouth. When did i ever imply that Joe shouldn't be our QB much longer? This is just you getting defensive for no reason and minipulsting facts to prove your point. and that's why I'm not continuing this conversation. You win
  21. I give up. I say something and you respond to something else. I give you examples of the best Franchise QBs and you say it's irrelevant and not enough examples. I tell you we need leverage and you say his agent would chuckle. Then say something like taking a QB with our first when I never said that. Yeah he's been chuckling all along by is not addressing QB position and yet you insist on only taking a third day QB and hoping he becomes a good backup. so in your world Joe needs to be 39 and half crippled before the FO ever considers drafting a solid QB that could step up when called.
  22. Each one has a different story. I know. But the same reasons that applied then apply now when it comes to Flacco. hes not 27 years old, he's had a major injury and had a prity bad year statistically, he's the highest paid quarterback per year in NFL history. and the Ravens continue to Pamper him instead of having some leverage when negotiating a new contract. I'm not saying get Flaccos replacement but look at the facts and you'll realize that taking a good QB that falls to the second or third is not that bad of an idea.
  23. I love DeCosta when he's on camera. The guy literally doesn't know how to sugar coat things or lie lol. He was asked a question and he was like "I'm not gonna answer that question" maybe after the draft. Ozzie and Harbs just started laughing. I love this guy and hope he stays in Baltimore for years to come
  24. First of all, great post. You made a lot of valid points and concerns. For starters, if we go into next season with this crew and Wallace gets hurt then we are screwed indeed lol. That also applies with almost every team and their #1 WR. Heck even A.Rodgers had a tough time without his #1. i also agree on Davis and Williams part. If they fall out of the top 10 then we should seriously consider them. They have AJ Green written all over them. I disagree tho when it comes to Ross. I don't see what he brings to the table that we don't already have. (Fast, deep threat, unpolished routes, and injury prone) sounds like a Perriman to me but without the 6'2 frame. I just feel like we don't have enough footballs going deep to feed all our deep threats. well I guess il move on to Perriman. He had a great rookie season when you consider that he never really practiced with the team. He had a few focus drops early that were over exaggerated. I say that because he had twice as many huge plays that only a handful of WRs in the NFL can even attempt to make. He finished the season strong as he settled in and got more opportunities. I think he's poised to have a thousand yard season if he starts and has a full training camp with Flacco. (I can't defend his knee because I also hold my breath every time he goes down) to conclude, I would t say taking a WR is a must in the first round because we have a stud in Wallace and a stud in the making in Perriman. I would say that we need another solid WR that brings a different skill set to the table to open up the deep passing game. Someone like Ju Ju (USC) makes a lot of sense to me.
  25. It was a good move by the FO for various reasons. Like you mentioned there's a risk of him getting hurt or suspended or maybe just play bad. But the guy was saying stuff like he'd have to play top 5 to land is a third. Hell no, 8-10 million a year lands you a third. If Jernigan plays a bit better than he did we'd be guaranteed a 3rd comp. did you see how many were given this year? im on your side that it was smart to cash in on an asset and a third today is as good as second next year so long term it's a good move. But don't go as far as saying Jernigan was bad and he wasn't playing good or that he could only land us a sixth. And please don't agree with him when he claims its an A+ move short term when we all agree it's a long term move. No one we draft in the late third or fourth(that's the value we got for Jernigan) is expected to play as good as we'd expect Jernigan to play this year. And no one we sign in FA will play as big a role as Jernigan did for his 1 million salary. I agree it was a good move and probably for the best interest of both the Ravens and Jernigan himself. But let's not fool ourselves here. This was a pill that we swallow to feel better in the future. one last thing not mentioned. If we weren't going to land a good comp for Jernigan then it wouldn't be because of his play. It would be because we have a lot of cash to spend next year and we probably will spend more on FA than we lose. That's why I think it's a good move to get out of the comp formula in the first place as next year's FA will be a delight. it was good. Perfect would be us landing a second round pick or trading Jernigan for Matthews. And shredding Jernigan to make yourselves feel better about the trade certainly doesn't go down well with me
