2 years in a row now. The steelers take who they think the Ravens want and the Ravens have last laugh. Last year Mosley outplayed Shazier who is a stud btw. This year Ozzie just rubbed it in by taking the guy across from Dupree 3 rounds later and had the last laugh lol
RMC and Bio. Fell free to respond if you read this. Is it even feisable to bring in D Jackson? If you ask me, I'd take him in a heartbeat but is it really doable? What would his salary be like and who would we need to get rid of if we bring him in. T.Smith was let go last season because we weren't willing to caugh up 9mil a year. What makes it so different now? If let's say he's traded to us for a low pick instead of him being cut. Would it help our cap. Just theoretically, the Redskins owe him a few mil so we'd have him for 7 mil a year and probably could extend his contract and spread the cap a bit.
I for one really went off yesterday but boy did our FO make up for it. I stand with my words I said yesterday but this sure makes that pill easier to swallow. Frazier is a great guy and will certainly teach our guys a few things pees couldn't
Oh god forbid you ever say Joe threw a bad ball or made a bad call. Nooooooo some people here will blame the receivers for running too slow, not jumping high enough, not getting open quick enough, not finding the sweet spot in the zone. The linemen for not holding their blocks long enough, the quardinators for bad play calls. The wind , the rain. A GhOst! But noooo constructive criticism is banned when you mention Joe Flacco. He can get paid like the best but doesn't have to play like the best.Go prove us all wrong Joe! If mallet and schaub can play at a respectable level with your backups then you should play at a probowl level with the starters. No excuses just hard work and results!
If you still believe that there's absolutely no beef between harbs and Ed then you may be a bit delusional.Harbs passed up on him when he was here. He passed up on him when he got released. He passed up on him when he was willing to come as a mentor at close to minimum salary. Harbs passed up on him when he was staying at home itching to get back. Harbs now passed up on him and we know for a fact that he's not asking to be a DC but in fact hes an assistant. In the meantime, we have brought in young guys, free agents, aging vets. A whole bunch of safeties came and went and Ed would have helped us much more than most. Even if it was just as a mentor to our guys.... What does that tell you? Harbs fears loosing the locker room to Ed. Or there's unsettled business between the two. If you have a better explanation please share because I for one hate picking sides between harbs and Ed. Two guys that I really love and respect.
cutting bait with arrington, Elam, Levine, a brown, guy, and canty would free up about 8 mil in cap space I'd put them all on the block, get whatever we can for them and let go of the rest. KO must stay a Raven!
I'm not glad he's with rex because he should be here with us! He should be here mentoring our guys teaching them how break down film and read quarterbacks. He should be teaching our guys how unleash their greatness because you can't coach greatness you can only guide it to the right path.I'm so freackin pissed off. Maybe I need a sneakers or something...
B williams was a first round talent but had absolutely no teqnique and came from a small school, thus falling to the third round where we stole him. Jernigan was also a first round talent and his off field issues dropped him to the second where we stole him as well. Both great guys and great picks. I just hope we can keep both for a few more years. I actually don't mind Jerningan roughing a passes every now and then to make quarterbacks see ghost. But he has to understand when to do it.
I said this last summer and got roasted myself. Matt is a nice guy but signing him for 3.5 mil a year was a horrible mistake! That money could have been spent elsewhere like on Crabtree who btw signed for a 3.5 mil a year deal. What's even worse is that we still had a chance with him playing until his pick sixes. Then he gets hurt and we burn more cap space in more backup quarterbacks. I said it then. If Joe goes down then we can find some pedestrian off the street because Matt won't pull it and we could have used that cap space on either keeping Ngata, a Cornerback better than Arrington, or a vet WR.
The real superstar move would be to move back into the first round from 38 to somewhere in the end of the first. Pickup a CB because of that 5th year team option. Then move from the top of the third round into the mid second round and pickp another possible starter. That would give us 3 potential day 1 starters for 4 or 5 years. Then I don't care what Ozzie and them do for the remainder. Pickup special teamers for all I care. Just hit a home run with 3 picks in the top 50. (6, 28, 55 theoretically) and we wouldn't need to give up much. Just trading down from 6-8th overall should give us enough assets to move to 28 and 55
I for one really loved Ngata as a player and as a man when he was here. It bothered me that people started bashing him for not taking a huge paycut on his backloaded contract that was cap friendly for the majority of his stay here. It bothered me even more when people all of a sudden forgot how great he was for years and years as a terror to opponent teams quarterbacks and just destroyed opponents game plans. Most people commenting on his play in Det didn't even watch him play a single snap! The dude still demands double teams and makes things easy for teammates in the line. Watch the film and don't follow stats is all I have to say to them. I for one wish Ngata back but understand that it's probably not gonna happen. But i don't go disrespecting a Raven that gave us his all like he's no good or we have better options. No we have more glaring needs and you said it right. To your other post regarding Flacco and FO not coming to an agreement..... I don't even wanna think of something like that. It's only Jan and I don't wanna panic just yet. I'm giving both sides the benefit of doubt until FA starts and the 28 mil cap hit really hurts us. I just think it's hillarious watching from a distance how both sides are playing hard to get. Joes agent is basically fired if he gets traded or cut. Ozzie and FO will have to answer to Steve if they do that as well and we as fans will go crazy lol
Like like like like! Dude your on a roll! Obviously that defenseless received rule is ruining the NFL in so many ways. im not even gonna go into details. Then u threw out that caveman with a cell phone analogy and I just fell of my chair coz it's so damn true!
Thank you! Steve has to be politically correct when he comments on refs. He watered it down so much that one may think he's complimenting refs after a horrible year of officiating. Us on the other hand can call it the way it is. Refs were pathetic, shifting momentum with bad calls and were so inconsistant with close calls. The NFL has got to solve this before they really start loosing fans. Wish I could give you more than 1 thumbs up. Every point you made brought back a horrible memory where I was yelling. "Are you serious!"
If monroe takes a paycut allowing the Ravens to pickup a nickle or help resign KO he'd be the man! But I doubt he does that. It's really one of those damned if you do and damned if you don't situations with Monroe. I'm glad I don't have to make a decision like this. Oh and your absolutely right. If we pick up the next Ogden like LT in the first and solve this problem for the next 5 years id gladly swallow that 6.6mil. My bigger concern is trying to retain KO who I think played at a pro bowl level and is still young.
Great post! Thank you. Can't help but to think how happy I'd be if Ozzie snatches a stud with our 6th overall pick and then moves from the 38th pick to the late 20s and snatches another day one starter stud! I don't care if Ozzie picks punters the rest of the way coz I'd be too busy celebrating lol
