  1. Palazollo - 3 DE's in the first 6 picks? I could do a drunken mock and still have Tunsil before 11 and Stanley going higher than 25. That mock was... different lol That is just plain ridiculous. While Tunsil is steadily moving towards the top spot in most mocks, this guy puts him at #11... THUMBS UP! Don't feel like going to the forum for that.
  2. I get where your coming from and could see that scenario play out as you said. Only thing I disagree with is the LT situation. If we can't keep KO then Oline becomes the most glaring need. Sure Monroe won't get benched but whoever we draft (assuming we go LT) can slide to LG until he proves he's got the NFL speed. Then we revisit Monroes deal next year.
  3. Treadwell is a stud. Hes certainly a first rounder and barring injuries and/or off field issue, he should be a productive NFL wideout for a while. What jean is trying to imply is that Treawell may not bee a guaranteed top 5 pick or a cant miss prospect. Hes a first rounder, Yes! But its yet to be seen how fast he can actually run his 40. If he does 4.45 or so then hes sureley top 10. If he goes close to 4.60 then please name me one 4.6 guy that went in the top 10. Treadwell is indeed the best WR in this class by default. Noone is saying the dude cant ball but look at his film again and keep these 3 things in mind. 1-Seperation (speed) 2-Complete Route Tree (NFL style Offense) 3- Garbage yards. Seperation is a must in the NFL and if you cant gain separation the NFL quality QB's will kill you. Treawell shows flashes here and there but can end this discussion with a solid 4.40 40 time. If he runs a 4.55, you need to be 6'5 like mike evans to be considered a cant miss in the draft. Treadwell is 6'2. Can he run all the routes? Thats really hard for most of us here to determine because you have to go into every play of every game to accurately see how well or lazy of a route runner he is. Also, NCAA players don't usually get to showcase a full route tree because their coach just wants them to to do what they do best. In Treadwell's case, he ran a lot of deeps, backshoulder fades, and quick screens. We never really saw him pick appart zones or anticipate throws as much as wed like. In my humble estimation, we will find out more in the coming weeks because the analysts will talk about his route running. Garbage yards? well, I don't mean garbage as in garbage but i mean lets look at how many yards he got from screens and YAC that we wouldn't expect him to be as effective in the NFL. Treadwell did a lot of that in college. I'm not saying take that away from him but imagine how his stats would be like without them. He had 1100 yards. When you compare Treadwell to last years class, one can argue that he'd be the 4th or 5th guy to come off the board. Cooper, White, and Parker all had more yards and arguably ran better routes(parker 800yds but only played 6 games). They also ran faster 40s than Treadwell is expected to run. One can argue that B Perriman might have been taked ahead of Treadwell if this was his class. Perriman 6,3 1100 yards 4.28 40. If Treadwell becomes a Raven then heck il easily fall in love with the pick. His hands are insane! His attitude is flawless. Hes big enough. But if we pass on him for a player that's a "cant miss" then il be just as happy as well. The variance between Treadwell and the Next 2 WR's in this class is not that much.
  4. I sure hope fisher gets desperate enough and maybe perhaps the eagles fear the niners picking up the next QB leading to a bidding war between them. If you know Fisher the way I know him, hes not gonna start a rookie with his job on the line. The Rams have tons of cap space. Like 50 mil or something so who knows where they go first round. It all depends on FA where us ravens usually play on the sidelines hoping for the least damages lol On and that would be one hell of a thread come draft day. If this scenario actually plays out the way we are dreaming it does. I'l be the first to yell "trade back in twice!" give me 3 first rounders and throw away all the remaining picks for all i care
  5. That just killed me coz that's exactly how i felt when i saw that mock! Come on Ozzie make him crap that brick The Rams would need to feel really desperate to just sqash away 2 2nd round picks like that. According to the draft value chart, one second rounder and a later round pick should do it. Keyword "how desperate are the LA Rams" Moving back into the first round would be a dream come true regardless if we move down or not. Get another day 1 starter because they'll still be there at 22. Las Vegas Raiders? I don't know where you got that but it cracked me up. Lets just hope Ozzie pulls a few more rabbits out of his hat. All I'm asking for is one in free agency, one in the draft, and one (healthy season) rabbit.
  6. McClain was cut by the raiders and we picked him up for free. Then the Cowboys traded for him. That's if we're talking about the same McClain lol If Ozzie does it, I for one wouldn't necessarily laud it but I probably wouldn't complain as much lol
  7. Revis wasn't coming off an ACL tear, that was the year prior when he signed with the bucs. What I meant with the option is that. The pats decided to decline it so why should they get rewarded?
  8. The cap hit is only fair because you did use that 5 mil lol What I really can't get over is the comp pick. I thought it was for players outplaying their rookie deals and teams getting something instead of nothing when they cant afford to keep a player they groomed. In Revis case. The Pats couldn't afford him year one so they played with numbers year one and we let that go because heck they paid the price next year. To get compensated with a 3rd rounder the following year blows my mind. The only reason they had that option was because they knew they couldn't afford him. Its not like the Pats drafted or groomed him. They stole him off the street with a "squeeze me in the cap" deal then get compensated for losing him. When you rent a car, you fill it up with gas and give it back. Don't go asking for the insurance you payed back lol
  9. Oh my lord!!!! Bro i know your pissed off after a horrible season as we won 5 games. Guess what, SO ARE WE. But to go out on a limb and call Ozzie a moron is a bit out of line. Sure you can say what you believe hes over rated for A,B,C. You can call his draft a bust. Heck you can even call his actions moronic if you can point them out but to go out and call him straight up "moron" is uncalled for. First of all, Ozzie is a GM. His job is to surround himself with good staff. So how can you take credit away from him when his staff is working on all cylinders. We sure as hell will point the finger at him if the HC he hires is a bust or if his players are not united. I for one was fast to blame him when players were getting in trouble off field and thankfully he fixed it. We were fast to point the finger and say " Hey Pees and Tresman are struggling we may need a change" Ozzie backed them up and kept them. If they fail again this year then its on him. Secondly, Ozzie and Decosta have done a very admirable job in drafting when you compare how many drafted player on our roster in comparison to other teams. The issue anyone may have with Ozzie is that hes missed in the first 2 rounds. (particularly Elam and A Brown). Most of those falters can be atributed to late picks where its really hard for any GM to assure a quality starter. You also cant blame a GM as much when a B Perriman is hurt for the whole season and still has 3 years left. If you can name me 3 teams that have drafted late (20-32) better than the Ravens in the past 5 years then I may concede. Last time Ozzie an Decosta picked in the top 15 they picked a Probowler year one! Thirdly, comparing GM's is a weird game because they usually have different assets at different times. Its like someone saying look at the jets they brough in Revis, Marshall, and a lot of other guys in FA. Yeah they had about 70 mil in free cap to burn where Ozzie had less than 10. Compare Ozzie with a GM that has similar resources. Someone that's backed into a Salary Cap wall and then compare what they did. Ozzie actually did pretty well by landing us 3 comp picks and keeping this squad relevant. Last but not least, You claimed that Ozzie is hyped up for political reasons.... And I soooo disagree with you there because that's so not true. Ozzie is hyped up because hes a HOF player and GM. Hes one of a very elite few that have won 2 super bowls in 15 years and always remained relevant as a team. Really hard to win with a startup team and even harder to consistently be relevant in a smaller city. Ozzie has done it and that's why he usually gets the benefit of the doubt. Ozzie is well respected because the coaching tree under him is twice as big as the next contender on that list. The only card one can pull with Ozzie is that he can relate to troubled players better than most GM's around the league. Quite frankly, I think that's well deserved praise. Look at Will Hill and SSS and ask them if theyd play for any other GM in the league if they had the choice.
  10. 1- yeah I actually want it to all hit right now so we don't have to deal with it later. It frees up less than a mil this year but next year his 7 mil hit is all off the books. 2- why would he not be eligible for a PS squad? 3- I hate even talking about this because I don't wanna be unfair to pitta but it's been too long and I still want the guy in the building.
  11. I still think that Revis deal was bogus and can't believe the NFL allows that to happen. The pats virtually signed him on a 2 year deal that allows them to pay the guy 5 mil more than he counted against the cap the first year and then get a comp pick instead of swallowing that extra 5 mil the second year.
  12. Is it possible that the Ravens release Pitta before June 1 and sign him to the PS? I know it doesn't free up much cap space but at least we don't carry dead cap going into next season where we could really need it. If he's ever cleared to play then we move him to the active squad and deal with it as it goes. I assume that if pitta stays on the PS he still gets the health benefits and uses team facilities etc... i think its just fair for both sides because who can you blame when a guy shatters his hip twice.
  13. Totally agree. Just some wishful thinking lol
  14. You were a blessing here as Joe remained healthy. Now you are proving that you were perhaps the best backup in the NFL for those 4 years. Never said a bad word, always ready but never got called for. Tyrod, I never knew the luxury we had at the time but thank you for those 4 years. Classy guy and he makes it easy to root for him.
  15. Ahooooooy what an awesome list of FA. I'd love to get our hands on a few of them. Unfortunately as things stand, Ravens can't afford any of them under the cap. Let's hurry up and rework Flacco and Webbs deals. Then free up some space by letting go of some dead skin players. (upto 9 mil without losing a single starter) Then let's all hope Ozzie has a more agressive approach than last year
  16. This is the new way of giving you a thumbs up lol
  17. I would have liked the writer to include a bit more information about Treadwell but I'm guessing he's waiting for the official numbers to come out through the pro days and combine before he posts potentially false information. He has to be 100 percent sure before he writes an article but I don't so don't hold it against me if I'm a bit off lol He's reportedly 6'2 and is prity fast. Expected to run a 4.45. If he runs faster than that in the combine them he's a lock top 10 but if he runs a low 4.5 teams may think twice because a lot of his yards came from screen passes and his WR friendly system. His hands on the other hand are Amazing! He's literally got some Boldin, Dez Bryant, or AJ green in him where he just snatches balls. His rout running is my only question mark as I'm not sure how polished he is in route running. Last but not least, I think his most under rated aspect is his blocking ability. He literally shoves CBs around in the runing game which I find hillarious at times. Keep bleeding purple my friend, Treadwell or not we will get a nasty playmaker at 6th ;)
  18. This year's draft is so weird in a really good way. Usually by the time the Ravens pick, the draft really dictates what direction we go and I'm holding my breath from a player getting robbed or a player getting over rated by our FO. This year I can see myself falling in love with the best pass rusher (bosa), the best 2 tackles, the best 2 CB ( one of them is said to be the next Ed Reed), or the Best WR (treadwell). Seriously this is unfamiliar territory to me when I'm watching highlights on these guys and reading about them. All the players projected to fall to is are so damn good(unless a red flag pops up by draft day) We're drafting 6th and there are 6 guys that could help this team day 1 and help for 5 years. I'm sure Ozzie and them are laughing to death. My dream pick wouldn't be any of those 6 guys coz I'd root for any of them in a heartbeat. My dream would be to see Ozzie and them trade away a 4th to move back into the end of the first round and snatch another baller. We would literally have 3 brand new first rounders to start next season (perriman returns) that were not here last season.
  19. Totally agree. I thought you were implying something else lol Loosing suggs, McPhee, and Ngata really hurt us in terms of getting to the QB. To your point about pass rusher with the #6 pick, il gladly take the next suggs or K.Mack if he's the best on our board when the clock is on.
  20. Broncos had 52 sacks this season vs 49 by last years Ravens that Stewart played for.
  21. Bingo!A solid D is much more reliable than a high flying offense. I'm not saying better or worse because we can go back and forth all night lol To win a Super Bowl, a team must beat 3 or 4 playoff games against some of the NFLs best teams (back to back to back) These games are played in Jan and Feb. It's highly likely that youl play 1 or 2 games in horrible weather. Thus, passing games usually fall off a bit and great Defenses seem a bit better. To win 4 in a row against very good teams you need a really efficient quarterback. Even the best of quarterbacks are bound to throw a few interceptions or get caught off guard early in 1 of those 4 games. We were blessed when Flacco just went bazerk with 11TD to 0 INT. That simply doesn't happen very often in the playoffs against great coaches and really good Ds. That's where a solid D keeps you in the game and gives your QB a few more chances. Otherwise you'll just chase games and look like the Colts last year. Last but not least, A solid D is a culture and a 10-15 really good players playing their roles. A solid passing game is 5 playmakers (usually killing cap space) that catch fire together. Lemme try to explain it another way. If the best Defense in the NFL looses its best player, it's still gonna be good. Real good as long as everyone else does their job and the coordinator tweaks his scheme a bit. If a high flying passing game loses the #1 WR then it's much harder to offset because the second best receiver gets doubled etc.... same thing goes with QB LT and TE in most great passing games. Bottom line.... I'd love to see Flacco with 3 superstar receivers and a great line and a descent RB but it can't be to the expense of our D. It's just not fair to Flacco to continually throw him under the buss with a below average D. If Peyton in his prime couldn't win Super Bowls consistently without a solid D then no one will. In Ozzie I trust
  22. It all depends on KO and number crunching. If KO stays then it's not a huge need to draft Oline early. But if KO leaves then the level of urgency drastically rises. Wagner fell of the cliff for some reason and is in a contract year. Hurst still needs to develop and Urschel is a few steps ahead of him but still not NFL ready yet. If we go into next season with only Yanda and Zuttah as our cream and butter then Flacco is doomed. I still haven't mentioned Monroe coz the guy is solid for a few games then another freak show. Someone rolls on his legs or he hurts his shoulder or whatever it is. Point is, you need 8 good linemen to finish off a season. As things stand, we have 2 solid guys(Yanda, zuttah) , 2 guys with question marks (monroe, Wagner), 3 good prospects( urschel, hurst, Jensen) and KO. We need 3 solid guys and 3 good guys with a question mark. The reason it's so attractive for FO to take a LT early is because of the new bargaining agreement. A team can get a solid LT for 5 years while only paying a fraction of LT money. And I don't believe that top 10 picked tackles bust that often. Their actually as close as it gets to guarantees. I know it's so unsexy but look at it this way. A solid LT will protect our greatest asset Joe, help the passing game, and runing game. Interior Linemen come and go but a solid LT is so hard to find As far as taking a CB early in the first. I'm down for that if Hargreves or Ramsey are on the board coz I can make the same argument. So hard to find a shutdown corner and impossible for the price tag for 5 years. I highly doubt we go WR. I don't see a Calvin Johnson in this class where you have to take him if he falls but a few guys with AJ green upside written all over them. FO probably won't go WR early not because of the talent but because Kamar has come so far in his development, SSS is here for one more run, Perriman is a first rounder that hasn't even played a down yet. Camp, Waller, and givens will fight for the #4 spot. Last year we were talking who's gonna be our #2 and 3. We do need a receiver but I don't think we're as bad as we were just a year ago.
  23. What about the picks we got for Ngata?
  24. Henry is a better version of Eddie lacy. Some mocks have him falling to the end of the first. He's a dark horse for quite a few playoff contenders.
  25. That's what I thought u till I saw Stanley OT from N.D. The guy can ball! If peters and Hargreaves are gone by 6. Might be hard for Ozzie to pass up on Stanley knowing that some good pass rushers will be avaliable towards the end of the first. May I say suggest giving up a 4th to move back into the first round? Check out josh Doctson WR TCU just to stir up all your thoughts lol. If treadwell is gone Doctson may still be there later as well
