  1. I'm also thinking reduce injuries. If we can reduce injuries by 10 percent then that will be the best addition of the offseason lol i honestly don't know how much Saunders can help Flacco. I for one am anticipating Flacco renting a farm in the middle of no where and invite all his WRs for a nice few weeks of running routes. Now that would do wonders! And the WR that doesn't show up can enjoy warming the bench for the starters
  2. Flacco obviously wasn't comfortable in his pocket last year and i think it comes down to 3 reasons. 1- The Oline was never close to full strength. That would cause most QBs to force throws early or just check down un necesarrily. 2- Coming back from a serious knee injury is not easy and I absolutely get it. I also commend Flacco for not using it as an excuse but we all know it factored. 3- most importantly, the scheme was a horrible horrible fit! Flacco never has been and never will be a timing or touch passer. Flacco needs his first read to run an intermediate route. His second read should always be someone that finds a sweet spot in coverage 6-12 yards. Finally, he needs a WR going deep at any given play so that he can throw up a 50/50 ball to him of the first two reads are covered. That means the deep guy has 1vs1 and that's playing to Flaccos strength! id also like to see Flacco have the option to audible to a run when defenses show obvious 7 players in coverage. Just run behind your overload and take 6 yards. Then no huddle and take 6 more yards when defenses disrespect us with playing 7 DBs.
  3. I love me some Jimmy smith! I think he's a top 10 CB when healthy. It just kills me when I think 3 of his last 4 injuries came when he was making a tackle from a weird position. Just put your head down and go for the runners legs! Who cares if you miss a tackle here or there. It's his cover skills that we really need. If Jimmy plays all 16 games. I promise we make the playoffs and no one would want to meet us there!
  4. I agree that pass rush is a greater need than CB and WR for that matter. I'd even bet good money that we draft a pass rusher in the second round if for whatever reason we don't take one in the first. I like Barrett's strength and his elite run stopping abilities. I don't love his burst or little use of finess moves. I honestly don't see much of a dropoff from him the the next 4 best pass rushers. When you compare that to WR and ILB There's a huge dropoff from Williams, Davis, Foster to the next best. i agree that this CB class is loaded all the way till the 3rd and it's no longer an urgent need at all. Il definitely take Humphrey back
  5. Doesn't make me feel much better lol
  6. Ruben Foster is an animal! I don't think the Ravens are going into the draft hoping that he's the BPA when they pick but wouldn't loose any sleep over it if he is indeed the last top teir guy left...
  7. Wwwwwhhhhhaaaaaatt?!!! I usually enjoy reading your perspective on things but you lost me on this one. that comparison is like saying. Williams may need surgery, I'd rather take Mickey Mouse in the 5th round because we're probably not gonna play with 3 WRs too often lol
  8. Just my opinion here but I think Corey Davis is of the same mold as Williams but Ross is a step behind them as a prospect as I highly doubt any team in the top 10 is even considering him. Foster and Humphrey are also top 10 talents so it wouldn't be hard for Ozzie to pull the trigger as they'd probably to top 10 any other year. Barnett on the other hand is a solid first rounder but I doubt he'd ever go in the top 10. im not trying to take away from any of the players mentioned but just saying i hope we land a 1A player rather than a 1B player. If I had to guess the order of the mentioned players in the Ravens board in order it would probably look something like:- 1- Williams 2- Davis 3- Humphrey 4- Foster 5- Barnett 6- Howard (even though I'd hate that pick I couldn't argue against him being BPA) 7- Ross
  9. You make a lot of valid points and ideally the 16th overall is not like a third rounder where 2 players means a better chance of one panning out. Drafting 16 overall is when you should take the BPA and hope he turns into a multiple pro bowler. A superstar in the making. you also have to admit that this is a unique draft. Il use pass rush as an example. There's Garrett that's a full package prospect. Then there's a gap, then a whole bunch of great players but there's just a little dent on each guys package. so theoretically, if both elite WRs are gone and Barnett is the best guy on your board at 16. Moving back to the mid 20s (plus a late second) could still land you Tim williams who is arguably just as good a prospect and also land ryan Anderson late in the second. if we're moving back to get a 4th and 6th then all bets are off. Il find you and cry with you after the draft lol
  10. I really hope he's gone before we draft. If hes there at 16 then a guy we might have taken is probably gone. thats probably why il make a case for Howard lol Maax was the best TE in one of the weakest TE classes. He's a tough matchup for many linebackers and could be a good blocker some day. Howard can outrun most NFL safeties and is a matchup nightmare for anyone trying to cover him. He's just too big and too fast it's not even fair. his ceeling is 1000 yards year in year out as a TE. I love Maax but Howard as a prospect is in another stratosphere.
  11. I absolutely agree that Ozzie is going best player avaliable. Even if it means taking 2 WRs in the first 2 rounds. I disagree with the idea that Ozzie wants quantity this year because it's becoming obvious that hes looking for quality this time round. He could have easily taken a 4th and a 6th for Jernigan and a 7th for Zuttah but he decided moving up was the better option. keep in mind that we've drafted 29 players in the past 3 years and most of whom are still on the team. Add some good Undrafted FAs that we've picked up and we don't really have enough roster spots to keep them all. Of course if a team calls and offers a deal you can't turn down then Ozzie will take it. But don't be surprised if he packages 2 more picks to move up again in the second or third.
  12. It also scares the living heck out of me to see KC taking a similar path that Brown took. To be fair tho, Brown was drafted to start immediately and lost his job because he had no motor at all. KC was drafted because he's a freakish athlete with an insane V12 engine. We all knew he had a lot of developing to do and all the "draft experts" raved about his upside but knew he wasn't a day 1 starter. lets reserve our judgement for after this year. If he's still where he is now then let's all panic together. If he does settle in then we can celebrate together and enjoy that v12 engine
  13. I absolutely agree with you on this one. Professional athletes should be hitting the gym 3-4 times a week all offseason to keep their numbers and muscle mass that took them 10-15 years to build. But that doesn't mean they need to stay in football shape year round. In fact, vets (nearing 30 yo) need to rest their bodies more than anything else in the offseason because a body can only take so much punishment. The smart ones do more yoga and work on their core because they usually can't do those things during the season.
  14. This is not gonna be a popular opinion but I really think the best value in this draft is Pass rush early in the second and CB early in the third. i honestly have no idea who falls to us at 16 so be prepared for a curve ball with our first. Barnett, And the top 2 WRs are probably gone so Ozzie needs to move up or settle for whoever falls. He may even move back but I hope not. 10 more days!!!!
  15. Ruben Foster gets drafted 15th overall by the colts and makes a Pro bowl as a rookie!
  16. That would be a dream come true!
  17. I think Waller could be a better version of Pitta if he gets his head in the right place. He needs to earn Flaccos trust and find the holes in zone coverages. not necesarrily a full time WR but Pitta isn't a full time TE either lol
  18. Idk if Waller transitioning back to WR is necesarrily a good thing. He's been practicing to be a TE all year and even bulked up a bit for it. it's not as simple as a CB moving to Safety. I'm not comparing Waller to J.Graham but I think that should be his role. 60 percent second TE with little blocking duties or slot in short yard situations 40 percent. Boyle is an option at FB but I'm assuming we don't use a FB very often anyways. We're gonna have TEs in the backfield or 2 RBs instead of the old fashions I formation. I'd like to see Boyle try to make the move before he's just flat out cut. LT is the opposite of Waller. He's been working hard to lose weight ever since he was drafted so moving him to FB would force him to add 20 or 30 pounds that he worked so hard to lose. I also don't know if he ever was great blocker in the first place. Idk let's see how the offseason plays out. allen is a RB and shouldn't even attempt to play FB or WR. If I had to put money on it, I think he's the first to get released of the previous 4 mentioned. the guy I'd like to to see play out of position the most is Woodhead, I don't want him to be a WR but I'd hope he plays a loooooot of slot. We could line up with 2rbs and just move him around to make pre snap reads easy for Joe and always give Joe a hot route instead of just dumping it off for a 3 yard gain.
  19. Looooooool you won the Internet and it's not even close
  20. Great post! Agree 100 percent
  21. First round:- I usually like a player with the highest floor. I don't need him to make a pro bowl but id like him to be a 4 year starter. Low risk, no off field stuff, no injury concerns. second round:- Il take anyone that's a first round tslent that falls for any reason. Take some risk, even if you have to redshirt a guy thats virtually a first rounder next year. third round:- I love me some small shook guys that could be first round talents but need a lot of developing. B.Williams comes to mind. Never draft of need! 4-7:- BPA all the way. Theyr not all gonna pan out so take the ones with crazy attributes. Things that money can't buy. Speed, intangibles, size, strength. At least one trait that you can build on. The ones that don't pan out are a sunk cost for the ones that do I guess.
  22. Can we sign Mangold already!!
  23. wow.. God bless you and your family Todd. I'm in a loss of words. Prayers
  24. I like how you spun it there. Under no circumstance would I give up next year's 1 round pick. Your assuming that we make a deep playoff run so we'd have no picks untill the 60s. That's just too much for me to handle. If Fournette falls past 10 then yes let's weigh our options but don't give up another first lol
