With the rumored move to 4-3 and a base nickel defense, the main needs will be CB and LB early. I also think that only Goff will go in the top 5, leaving us with a big decision at pick number 6.

1-1 Rams- Goff

1-2 Browns- Ramsey

1-3 Chargers- Tunsil

1-4 Cowboys- Bosa

1-5 Jaguars- Jack

1-6 Ravens- TRADE: I believe Buckner and Hargreaves are the two most logical choices here, but the Ravens phones will be ringing and I think they pull the trigger on a trade. SF, desperate for a QB gives up more than they need to secure the pick. 1-6 and 4-130 for 1-7, 2-37, and 4-105.

1-6 49ers- Wentz  

1-7 RAVENS- Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Florida. 10 career interceptions and 38 passes defensed in three years at Florida. Can also return punts and kickoffs. "While scouts have voiced some concerns about Hargreaves' size and recovery speed, you won't find anyone who doesn't admire his competitiveness and consistency of production. Hargreaves has a level of suddenness and explosiveness in his movements that should always have him near the ball. With top-notch ball skills and exceptional instincts that drew praise from Alabama's Nick Saban, Hargreaves possesses the football makeup to become a Pro Bowl cornerback."

2-36 Su'a Cravens, LB/S, USC. Finished his college career with 199 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, nine interceptions and four forced fumbles. Many people say he is too small to be a productive LB, but at 6'1" 225 lbs, he is only one inch and 13 pounds smaller than Mosley. "Plays with a unique lens that includes his time at the safety position as a freshman. Teams focusing on putting a "tweener" label on him could be making a huge mistake considering his competitive nature and toughness. Cravens was highly disruptive and productive in each of his three seasons as a starter thanks to his tools/traits to act on his instincts. Cravens will help on special teams immediately and could become an early starter for a 4-­3 defense looking for a playmaking weak­-side linebacker."

2-37 Tyler Boyd, WR, Pitt. The Pitt record holder for career receptions(254) and yards (3,361) "Boyd makes up for a lack of speed with vice ­grips for hands and being intelligent in his routes. Boyd isn't a stand­alone WR1, but he can be a very productive starter in a play-­action attack that allows him to play to his strengths.", 

3-70 Charles Tapper, DE, Oklahoma. Learning under Suggs and Dumervil for a year or two could make him beast.

4-104 Joe Haeg, OT, North Dakota State.

4-105 Jaylon Smith, OLB, Notre Dame. Seems like the perfect time to take a chance on somebody who was considered a top five prospect before his injury.

4-132 Harlon Miller, CB, Southeastern Louisiana.

4-134 Joe Dahl, OG, Washington State.

6-182 Keith Marshall, RB, Georgia.

6-209 Deiondre Hall, FS, Northern Iowa.

Without a trade I see it going, 1-6 Hargreaves, 2-36 Cravens, 3-70 Tapper, 4-104, Haeg, 4-130 Peake, WR, Clemson, 4-132 H. Miller, 4-134 Dahl, 6-182 Marshall, 6-209 D. Hall.

But... No pass rusher before the 6th round? I would take one instead of the FS  or the second WR. 

My thought about the pass rusher was that we could also use Jack as a pass rusher if we were able to get Scooby Wright.

If the Ravens made these trades, there is no way we would get Treadwell, Smith and Spence. We could possibly get two of them with the first round picks. I could see us going with Smith and Spence in the first. Then we could get a WR like Boyd, Shepard, or Miller, along with a CB like Burns or Fuller in the second. Still think its a bit of a stretch, but if we could pull it off, it would be a hell of a draft.

Treadwell

Yeah pretty much. I think we absolutely need a playmaker at every position. Here's a question though: second round pick, Ravens otc and Kendall Fuller, Ngakoue, Boyd and Jaylon Smith are all there. Who do you pick?

I would find it hard to pass on Jaylon Smith since he was a top 5-10 talent prior to his injury, even if he had to start on the PUP list. I don't know much about Ngakoue, but from what the "experts" are saying he is a projected 5th round pick. Is he really that good that he could end up being taken in the second? I pass on Boyd because I'm hoping we take Treadwell in the first and then possibly trade up back into the second for Fuller or take Artie Burns in the third.

I'm not sure Kendall Fuller falls to the 3rd or 4th. That seems a bit optimistic but it can happen. That said, we need both a WR & a CB very badly. Both are desperate positions for this team. If we re-sign KO, I expect our first three picks to be CB, WR & OLB in no particular order. 

I agree that Fuller won't be available in the 4th, but depending on how his knee heals, the 3rd could be a possibility. However, Artie Burns and KeiVarea Russell most likely will be there in the 3rd and Cyrus Jones later than that. I think Treadwell is too good to pass on when we can get a quality pass rusher and CB in the later rounds.

 I suppose drafting treadwell will allow Joe more time to throw downfield? What injury did Joe suffer this year? Oh yeah....

James Hurst was our LT when Joe went down. Monroe and K.O.(if we resign him) are a lot better than him. Im pretty sure both, Tunsil and Stanley will be gone by the time we pick.

Not going to mean anything if Webb is starting at CB for us next year. Doesn't matter how great our offense is we have to fix our defense or protection for Joe

Our pass defense ranked 7th in the league the second half of the year. A healthy Jimmy Smith and the experience the secondary gained by playing together this year will make them better next year. Also, we could get a CB like Kendall Fuller or Artie Burns in the second or third round. 

Ozzie said that in close games, a really good player can make the difference. Joe has never had a true #1 WR and if we can get Treadwell that could be what it takes to get Joe to the next level. Think of a lineup of Treadwell and Perriman on the outside and SSS in the slot, Gillmore and Williams at TE, and Forsett and Buck at RB. That could be a very dangerous offense. I just think that Treadwell is too good of a receiver to pass on.

Thats true, but Flacco also makes a ton of stupid decisions. If he would go to the check down receiver like Mallett did today instead of trying for the big play all the time he would throw less interceptions.

Chiefs are in the playoffs. The Jets have to lose and the Steelers have to win next weekend to make it.
