right? especially Flacco working hard this of year

Ya, Joe has taken a beating on his worth as of late (and rightfully so) so, it's good to see him out there with everyone.
I'm hoping he's a man on a mission because the heat will be on him again and once we get him some more weapons, the heat cranks up exponentially.
I believe Joe will be on top of his game this year.

I think he's in for a big bounce back season as well

  2. I honestly hope he's wrong in asserting that the knee injury wasn't the cause of his terrible performance last season, otherwise it would mean that he is declining for some other reason. There's hope he improves from last season if it was just his knee bothering him: he wasn't stepping into his throws, and he was much less accurate as a result. I hope the knee was just on his mind, causing hesitation when he should have been stepping into his throws--that might be an easier fix.

The knee definitely had something to do with it, whether it was all of it or not. You're right, I could see it in his throws. But the thing that drove me insane was his pocket confidence and mobility. He was just about as ski-dish as possible in the pocket all year, then his mobility getting out of there was about as bad as you'll see as well. Sure some people want to blame that on the line, but I was watching Flacco all year, especially when our line was doing well.
I don't know if anyone remembers this, but I feel like it was somewhere around the middle of the season. I think Flacco had about a 15-18 run at home. Before the run, he panicked and kind of did a 360 while spinning out of the pocket like he was avoiding 2 or 3 rushers in the process. Unless I just missed it when I was watching live ( and drinking), there wasn't one person putting serious pressure on him at the time. It was just a classic example of how uneasy he was in the pocket the whole year. That had to do a lot with his knee. I think Joe will have a bounce back year. Gotta take care of business next week, but I'm expecting the Ravens to return to a top 3 AFC team this year. That is if Harbaugh doesn't sabotage things again like last year

  3. Ravens still need a 1st or 2nd day CB to team with Jimmy.

First, we have Tavon. Who is not just a slot corner. He proved he can cover Eifert on the goal line, or run down the field with AB. Also, no way we would've paid Carr 6 mil a year if we didn't think he could play. I know a lot of people doubt his durability, but I think Jimmy is primed for his best season by far in 2017-2018. We have 3 legit corners. I do think we'll add a corner or 2 in the draft, but I would almost bet everything I have that it won't be day 1. And day 2 is gonna be nuts, so we'll see how that goes. But honestly, you could pick any corner in the draft ( and this is the best corner draft I've ever seen), and there might not be 1 that comes in and plays better this year than Carr year 1. Maybe not even Lattimore who is probably a top 5 pick. I understand everyone wants a corner, and for good reason. I would just be shocked if we took one in the first. And considering a lot of people within the organization feel like we're right there, as do I, it will be hard to pass on the WR, Oline, pass rush, and rb talent in the 2nd and 3rd. Granted there will be insane value picks with cbs in the 2nd and 3rd.
This is all why I hope we trade down from 16, unless Barnett is there. We need another pick or 2 in the 2nd and/or 3rd. So we can fill our holes while going bpa, and while being able to get a corner or 2. I love Teez and Sidney Jones. I think both will go in the 2nd. Teez has a shot of sneaking back into the 1rst though.
Between picks 20-100 will be insane value in this draft. I honestly think pick 90, will be close to the same quality of player as pick 30. We need to accumulate as many picks between 20-100 as possible.
Out of this list, I really hope at least 2 or 3 of these players are Baltimore Ravens after next week:
    - Derek Barnett
    - Ju Ju Smith Schuster
    - Carl Lawson
    - Forrest Lamp
    - Teez Tabor
    - Sidney Jones
    - Chidobe Awuzie- so underrated- could be best overall cb in draft
    - Samaje Perine
    - Cooper Kupp
    - Corey Davis
    - Pat Elfein ( Signing Mangold would be a nice 2 year stop gap and save a 2nd round pick. Elfein looks awesome though_
    - Takk McKinley
    - Charles Harris
    - Taco Charlton
    - Quincy Wilson
    -Desmond King

I love all of these players, and with the exception of a few, most of them will be gone by the end of round 2 or so.
    My favorites are-
    -Teez
    -Chidobe Awuzie
    -Ju Ju Smith Schuster
    - Lamp
    -Barnett
    and Quincy Wilson

I've gotta say, Corey Davis does kinda look like TO though...lol

Time to Kick A** next week FO

  4. Earlier this month, Newsome said the combine incident did not change where Foster ranked on the Ravens' draft board.
"He went to Alabama, so I think I have the inside [track] on most of that information that comes out of there," Newsome said.

This makes me think we are not interested. Why would Ozzie make this statement if he were? Wouldn't it have been better to say that the incident was a disappointment if he were truely interested so other teams would stay away. This comment makes me think Ozzie wants someone to pick him before us so it pushes the players he really wants down the board.

You're going too deep. You can't draw conclusions from anything that any FO says leading up to the draft

  5. John your point is well stated, but an "8 and 8" record is a collar around the Ravens' neck going into this fall 2017 season. How will the Ravens break their pattern of 8-8 level of football? The answer starts at the top with wholesale changes. If you coach the same, you get the same results on the field, no matter who is on the field.

Seriously. The coaching was straight embarrassing last year. I figured it had to get better as the season went along too.......cuz it surely couldn't get any worse............It never got better. I was sincerely 100% baffled at times by coaching last year. It was like the mob had one over on Harbaugh

    my wish draft

    Round 1. Mike Williams-WR-Clem
(He is our answer to AJ Green and Antonio Brown)

    Round 2. Tim Williams-OLB-Bamma
    (He is a Raven)

    Round 3. Sid Jones--CB- Wash
    (He is worth waiting for)

    Round 3. Jalen Myrick-CB- Minn
(Most under rated CB in the draft)

Round 4. Ethan Pocic- C- LSU
(Helps secure a position of need / can come in and start)

Round 5. Noah Brown- WR- Ohio State
(he is raw but rare athletic gifts make him a great gamble in the 5th)

    Round 6. Kareem Are - G/T-FSU
(Can play G or T and will move inside where is will fit well in Greg Romans style. Are is a big guy who can move but needs to be coached up) We have the guy for that!

    Round 3. Sid Jones--CB- Wash
    (He is worth waiting for)

Every team thinks they can get him in the third. I think a team that wants him will need to take him in the second.

Every team's fans think they can get him in the 3rd Round. Nobody knows what NFL teams think of him now. Medical treatments advance every day, but there has not been a single DB that has come back from an Achilles tear and been close to what they were before it happens. . Dee Milliner is the perfect example - much more talented than Jones but has never been anything other than an average CB at the NFL level after his Achilles injury. 40% of all NFL players that tear their Achilles never play again.

No way I'm taking that gamble in the 3rd Round when other top CBs like Teez, Tankersly, Moreau, etc will be there.

I don't know what you're burnin but I want some. Zero chance those 3 corners are available in the 3rd?
Teez and Moreau definitely have a shot of going in the 1rst. Tankersly does too because of his size alone, but I'd bet he goes middle of the second at the latest

  7. Dumb ole Ravens should have kept Kerringgan and made him playout his contract. He would have to play at his best for toget a good contract from whatever team he goes to. Why did the Ravens do that, I will never understand. OMG

    Cuz Jernigan is way overrated
We have other dline guys that are just as good
And that 74 pick is like a 44 pick in a normal draft. This class is beyond loaded.
It was a great trade, if we use the pick well

  8. Haven't written about it much or predicted much but McCafferey and Forrest Lamp could be serious first round targets for us if Barnett, Davis, Williams, and Foster are gone.
McCafferey could help the team in so many ways. And Lamp is the best lineman in the draft by a bit, not to mention he can play all 5 positions.
If those top 4 are gone, I would love to trade back 5-8 spots and grab Lamp as well as an extra pick.
Then we're back to having 2 pro bowl guards. Ronnie the man at LT. We should sign Mangold. Then Lewis looks a lot more like a Tackle than a Guard. Boom, not only is the line fixed after 1 pick, but it's one of the top lines all of the sudden.
Then we would still have FOUR more picks in the top 80- with that extra pick from the trade back.
-Grab Lawson to put opposite Suggs, and groom him to replace Sizzle.
-Grab Ju Ju. EXACTLY what we need now and for the future- more explosive version of Q
    - Grab Chidobe Awuzie- a top 3 corner in the draft imo, but he's underated. He can do everything
Grab BPA with the last 3rd round pick.
And we still have KC and P.O. to play ILB
    Plus more picks
Not only are all the "holes" filled, but they are filled in the most beautiful way. Not one of the holes filled this offseason is a 1 year thing either.
We might draft a Center, but I have a feeling Mangold will be very motivated going to a good team for the first time, and I think he has 2 solid years left.
I have a feeling Carr is going to prove himself on our defense and I think he'll be with us for 2 years.
Weddle has a solid 2 years left, get over the age people.
Sizzle might be the only one leaving after this year. Which is huge, obviously.
We can really get back to being in the playoffs every year, and hoping for at least the AFC championship game each year, if we take care of business and handle this draft. Best draft I've ever seen. The Timmy trade was a thing of beauty. We'll see what follows

Lamp, Awuzie, Ju Ju, and Lawson are all ready to play and contribute right away. And they can all be cornerstones for us moving forward, all at very different, and crucial positions. To ensure getting all 3 guys after Lamp, that last third might need to be used to move up. Or it could be used on a Center if we don't sign Mangold.
Samaje Perine looks interesting to me as well.
I also really hope we give up a future pick or two to get another 2nd or 3rd rounder this year. We need as many picks as possible between 20-80 this year. Out of those 60 players between those slots, I sincerely believe about 40-45 would be first rounders in most drafts, or average drafts. The talent that's gonna be coming off the board in the 2nd round is going to be nuts. The second round this year will be better than most first round classes. Get to work FO

  10. No on McKinley - Foster is a much better pick at LB however I just dont see the Ravens going LB unless all others on the board are gone.

Foster is a better pick, but he's at least a top 10 talent and will probably be gone. They also play different positions. Foster is inside while Takk is a OLB and pass rusher, which is something we should be targeting early.

  11. I like Corey Davis at 16 if he is there, big if.
So lets just say he is then I see The Ravens possibly going...
    16- Corey Davis WR
47- Carl Lawson OLB (Option -Cam Robinson OL)
74- Pat Elflein C ( Option -Chris Wormley EDGE)
78- Teez Tabor CB ( Desmond King CB)

I love all these players. All of em. But I sincerely think each one will be drafted well ahead of where you have them slotted unfortunately.
Zero chance Tabor makes it out of the 2nd round. I wouldn't be surprised nor would I think it would be foolish for someone to take him in the first as well. He'll compete with Marshon for the best corner in this class when it's all said and done.
Davis could drop to us, which would be amazing. But I could also see him going as early as 5 to the Titans.
I'm starting to think of a new ideal draft approach, which I'm gonna post.
But if we pick at 16, I hope it's Davis, Williams, Foster, or Barnett.
I wouldn't be mad about Ross or Takk either
