  1. Judon ,Dixon, and Hnery were my picks after the draft, as far as mid to high drafted players to make a impact, but so far almost all who played Thursday really looked great. This rook class by far has exceeded my expectation, as the transition from college to pro is a lot to take on...Also helped with some guys being out, that they all got a ton of reps in OTA's and camp....And the 2nd and 3 year players are looking good....Will be some tough cuts this year....JMO....

I think Young is ready to make an instant impact as well. Probably our best slot cb already. I think he can return. And I doubt he'll get a lot of chances at it but I wouldn't be surprised if he can play well outside too. I expect Dixon and Henry to be beast right away this year as well. I think Judon might need a little more grooming than those two, but he might be my favorite pick of our spot. draft spots considered and all

  2. Henry and Judon are surprises. I hope they can keep up the good work and earn spots on the 53 or at least PS

I don't think there's anyway either of those 2 would stick on the ps. And I think they are not only both making the team but both will contribute this year. Especially Henry with his ability plus Kufasi going down. I know the reactions I'll get with this now, and I'm not saying he'll have the same type of career, but I see Judon as Sizzle's replacement. And I'm hoping that takes place in two years, not next year.

  3. I have faith in both West and Dixon being very successful RBs for the Ravens. This year, I predict we'll carry 5 RBs unless of course one of them has a phantom injury and goes to IR and I predict that may be Dixon.

5 running backs. I think there is zero % we carry 5 rb unless you're counting juice as one. In that case it would even be tough to carry west, forsett, dixon, and buck. I wouldn't mind it, but would it be a good idea with all the depth at other positions and need to have depth on the roster at other spots. If we carry 4 rbs, 5 with juice, I would think at least 2 of those 5 would have to play special teams. I think Dixon and West are by far our most talented rbs. I like forsett as well. I think Buck is a solid back up, but thats it. I know it's not likely, but I would love to see West, Forsett, and Dixon just all kick but as a rotating trio. I know rbs need their reps to get going and everything. But if that did work, it would keep them all so fresh too. RB situation will be interesting this year. I'm not relying on Forsett putting up 1200 yards, that's for sure

Oh how I would love for Z'Smith to be a sack-master and completely out-class the Steelers' Bud Dupree. We could always use more material to brag about. (Z.Smith and Dupree were both teammates at Kentucky, though Dupree went in the first due to H/W/S potential while Z.Smith went of day 3 despite having better production).

Sounds like he will be an edge setter. I hope not.

He's an edge setter than can also rush the passer...kinda what we were hoping for from Upshaw. Not positive but doesn't Z already have more sacks then Upshaw did over his whole tenure with us??

Pernell was pretty good for us, but he slowed down in year two and three and didn't get hot again until his walk year. He did a good job in Chicago even though the sack numbers aren't high, he is near the top of the list in QB hurries. He's currently dealing with a pretty big injury though.

Z.Smith I hope becomes the player they think he can be because we're going to need him to help replace Suggs and Dum. Hopefully Correa can be the other guy. While our front three might be good against the run, they really don't get to the QB much, so if Smith can play the end and get rush from there that would be great.

I think Z would be best utilized in a JJ-Upshaw/Mcphee role for the future to come. That would allow us to utilize all of his strengths, while keeping him fresh and not playing him every single down. Especially relying on that from a late round pick-though I don't doubt his ability. I'd be a little surprised if both Suggs AND Doom retire after this year. If they do, we should be unloading some big time contracts/pay offs soon anyways which would only add to our cap ava. But we have Z for years, Doom or Sizzle for one more I think, and KC playing the middle and going crazy on the edges for years to come. With all this said, I see us drafting a pass rusher in the next 3 rounds next year, or signing a very nice free agent.
Quickly I'll address your front 3 statement before I make my main opinion. I agree with you to a degree on that. Timmy has been less than anticipated so far. Especially with his personal fouls. And we just spent a high 3rd rounder on Kufasi only to see him go down which is unfair to not include. We drafted him for pass rush and more. Also, BWILL gets good pressure, esp considering he's a 340 lb. NT. There also aren't many front 3' that get great pressure. (Watt is absurd).
Call me CRAZY but I could see Mr Judon taking over Suggs role in the future. I know know, but I like this kid. Let's just wait and see

If so JJ and Upshaw were edge setters and that was all...

Thats why I put their role as one, and Mcphee's role was completely different. I think Z id perfect for a combination of those two roles

I'm not only talking about the Ravens, but all 32 teams.

I know, I think its the Bengals turn, I'd enjoy watching Dalton without AJ Green to throw to for a season.

The Bengals have exactly ZERO % chance of making the playoffs without green. Aside from QBs, he is the most valuable player to his team in the NFC North. Not best, most valuable

  8. Seems like Pees needs to make sure he doesn't need to pass cover at all, except for when we get "caught". Clearly it's not his strength at all, and I liked the Willis comparison "Maryland". I've been out here in the Bay Area my whole life, and Willis was a pro bowl/all pro LB, but he could not cover. KC and Orr can probably cover better, plus with the DB depth we have, I would to see us use Weddle as a cover and box LB at times. Like Arizona does with Buccanon

I love Forsett but I just dont see him making the team. He is a great guy and should get another chance to play but with Allen and Dixon guaranteed to make the 53 we only have room for one more RB and West is not only younger but also the cheaper option. Unfortunately living across the country I dont get to see them practice, so i can only go off what i read and even though Forsett has the leadership its West that has shown up to win the starting job.

If you guys think we keep 4 RBs what position do you think will take the hit? I have us taking 6 WRs and 4 TEs. I couldn't justify cutting one of them for Forsett..

Justin Forsett is going to have to collapse on the field and be out for the season to get bumped from this roster. He's got a proven track record of rushing for over 5 yards a carry numerous times. He was never given an opportunity to start until he came to the Ravens and he had a fantastic season for us. He was having another very good year last season despite playing behind a less than stellar line before he broke his arm. Terrence West does not have that same success to fall back on. He busted his butt to get in shape and he's practicing like his life depends on it because, well, his NFL life does depend on it. Blowing up practice is one thing. You have to blow it up on the field when the scores actually matter. Forsett isn't really breaking the bank for us either, so we wouldn't save a ton of money by cutting him.

I can see both sides of your debate. I don't see Forsett getting cut. However I do hope we keep West and Dixon is a no brainer, and Allen looks like a decent back up- I hope he can play special teams?? I'm from California so hard for me to see those things. I think Forsett could be very productive this year, especially if he splits time. The offense will be completely different this year. But if saving 3 Mil was the difference in locking up BWILL right now, I would certainly consider it. I doubt it would be though

  10. Love the KC pick and with Monroe retiring the Stanely pick looks excellent as of now. This fourth round though.......they all look like players that could start next year in my opinion. I don't know what's going to happen on the outside opposite Jimmy this year, but after getting a chance to show himself, I expect Tavon to man the slot all year. Wouldn't be surprised to see him return some kicks too. Henry might be what we though TimmyJ would be right away

  11. There are going to be some really tough cuts at WR, TE, and/or RB. They usually keep 6 WRs, 3 TEs, and 3 RBs (not counting FB). But they have 6 standout WRs (Steve, Aiken, Wallace, Camp, Perriman, Chris Moore), 4 TEs (Watson, Pitta, Gillmore, Maxx), and 4 RBs (Forsett, West, Buck Allen, Dixon). Can't wait to see how it all plays out, literally.

I hope it works to where all those players make the team.

  12. Carl Davis, what are you up to. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing him get some reps at end, though it looks like we don't have another legit back up NT. I just really hope Elam doesn't make this team let alone be a back up. Brooks is a better and cheaper option. I won't even get started on Elam's missed tackles, esp. at crucial times. A "box" safety that can't tackle....LOL! actually it's not funny at all. haha. Also hoping Aiken is the number 4/5 WR. Behind SSS, Wallace, and Perriman. And splitting time with Camp. Aiken is a good number 3 and great 4, but nothing else. Also hoping to see KC on the field about 100% of the time. Whether it's at MLB, OLB, or Rush End. Everyone is getting excited in a hurry, and I think it's warranted, but KC might be one of those defensive dogs we've been trying to draft for a while. If BWILL, Sizzlingdoom, Jimmy, Mosely, and Weddle can hold things down around him....we should be able to let KC off leash to just go get the ball or QB regardless of anything. Interesting mix of Veterans and young players on this team. Not much between. CANT WAIT!!!!!

  13. It's a good thing we have a capable backup... oh wait

Because SO MANY teams have capable back up left tackles. Most teams don't have good starting left tackles. There will always be negative nancies making irrational statements......... And if you're referring to keeping Monroe, the man retired even though teams were offering him millions of dollars. And he couldn't stay on the field for us and was overated when he was on it. So what did we do? We drafted a durable 4 year starting left tackle from a major program that we thought was THE best LT in the draft. give me a break

This is spot on, don't want another KO situation next year. Hopefully the work is being done now to prevent that. GO RAVENS! 25

I concur. What are we waiting for? The price to go skyrocketing? Get r done!

They're waiting to see if he is the real deal or not. And to be frank, I'm waiting to see too

WHAT?!?!? LMAO. sorry. please explain. I think he is the best NT in the league. Best run stuffer and gets QB pressure at 340 with quick feet and absurd strength. In terms of losing any of our Defensive players to free agency in the 5 years, I think losing him would really sting the most
