So are these the forums that are closing??? Are we not going to be able to comment and respond to each other's comments?? That would be incredibly lame. I'm completely done with Baltimoreravens.com if that's the case
No, this isn't changing. You will still be able to comment in the blogs. The stories that are published for the Ravens will still have comments.
Got it. Thanks. So are forums the big live discussion thread things that take place during games and the draft and stuff? or what are they?

Can't wait to see the Ravens this season especially after adding those defensive weapons. I've always favored defense over offense so this year will be exciting for me.
Same here. I just want us to get our swagger back. Ever since Ray and Ed left, teams have not been scared of us anymore, but now we have players/veterans who can play smash mouth football and hit. All we need is a dominate rushing attack and we'll be just fine. Joe is at his best when he has a running game working so he can use more play-action plays.
Agreed, BUT, it's easier to have a dominate run game if you have a top tier back, line , or both. Our line and backs are not even close to that. We're going to have multiple rookies on our line and we don't even know who is starting. West and Woodhead are our running backs. So little invested into those 2 areas. Boomin defense coming, brutal offense
All you people complaining about drafting to many defenders, just try and remember how many games we lost last year because our "great defense"
could not hold a lead in the fourth quarter.Try and think about why that happened... our offense was so inept. By having a better offense you stay on the field longer, the defense stays fresh and they then have the ability to see games out.
Seriously!!!!!!!! I don't know why people don't understand that. It's so simple. Our D was simply gassed at the end of games as well as the season from being on the field the whole time. It's pretty simple
I would not say choirboys but if you say Alpha males with vocal personalities to lead men, I would say there is something in that. One big problem with the Ravens is that there is no nucleus of players leading their perspective groups. In the past (before 2013) Ravens had a leader and his generals. I would love to see Tim do that but I'm sure he will be put into his place. It is no coincidence the Ravens have done nothing since 2012 and the purge. Do you seriously think Ravens would have won the Super Bowl if the "mutiny" did not happen? The fact that it came to that point told me there is an issue in knowing your men. Knowing the "pulse" of your team. John has his generals (coordinators) but seems to have an issue understanding commanders purpose in the field.
Think its pretty clear who is leading their respective groups.
Suggs leads the Dline/LBs, Weddle leads the secondary.
Steve Smith was leading the receivers, and Yanda leads the Oline.
I thought this was common knowledge. If your interpretation of "leadership" is a guy who delivers sermons in the locker room or is constantly in the public eye preaching like Ray Lewis was, then I think the lack of leadership falls on your end, not the Ravens end.
If I asked you to tell me who the leader of the groups of players on the New England Patriots are, you couldn't do that either. So apparently they don't have leadership from player commanders (outside of Brady) either, yet they seem to keep winning.
"then the lack of leadership falls on your end..."
?????????????????
LOL you're donkey ways have no limits LOL
They better be, otherwise he and the defensive staff should all be fired!
that just about sums it up
indeed
Guys DO NOT keep saying "we have a good defense". It will knock the mindset of the players off. Let them earn the title please.
LOL. If anything them seeing us say that would only motivate them to be hungrier imo
Don't sleep on Stephane Nembot. I think he will make a serious push for RT. If we don't pick up Mangold C will be Jensen Siragusa or The Brain
Don't forget Matt Skura a UDFA and practice squad player from last year as our center. He's been around for a year, hopefully has gained bulk and knowledge. He was considered one of the better UDFA signings from last year's group. I see the Ravens picking up a veteran Tackle since most of our players vying to be a starter seem more inclined to be a G or C. I think Lewis can switch to right tackle, but he looked good at LG and worked well with Stanley
This is my problem with the Ravens draft moves a lot. If they have Nembot, Skura, Urschel, Jensen, Lewis, and they are all possible options, why are you wasting 2 picks on more lineman? Especially if they also intend to bring in Mangold. On one hand they are saying they have it all under control in house, and on the other, they are proving with their actions we are hugely deficient in the O line. it cant be both.
Nobody knows if they are planning on bringing Mangold in
Nembot, Skura, Urscherl, and Jensen- going into the season relying on any of these guys starting would be a disaster. That's not to say that they can't. But regardless of position, you're always looking for the best players and depth. John will never be a starter. Nembot, maybe. Jensen and Skura are probably back ups but they're working on it.
We are searching for 2 starters for the o so very important oline. Using 2 picks on them is far from wasting picks. Huge need. Need quality and competition there
I know there's been lots of talk about Boldin returning. I want to hear opinions on Victor Cruz coming in on a cheap contract with incentives to make more. He's only 30 years old.
I love Q but I doubt he wants to come back. I'm driving the Cruz and Decker train at this point. They would both fill massive needs very nicely. I watched Cruz game tape on youtube just from last year. He still has it. Not to mention the fire and he's as good of a locker room guy as it gets too. He would add some nice fire to our lacking wr core
I would say there are almost unlimited possibilities of combos on the line.
Stanley is almost the only guy who is locked in. I think Yanda will be either RG or RT, Lewis could be LG or RT, Urschel-Skura-Jensen-Siragusa LG or C, Nembot or Eluemanor RT. For instance:
Stanley-Lewis-Urschel-Yanda-Nembot
Stanley-Siragusa-Urschel-Yanda-Lewis
Stanley-Lewis-Siragusa-Urschel-Yanda
Stanley-Urschel-Skura-Yanda-Lewis
Yanda is NOT playing RT. It's that simple.
Guys, I feel bad cuz I told the front office I wouldn't leak it, but we all deserve it as the passionate fans we are. Here's the final 53 yall LOL :

And don't get mad at me, I didn't make the list. Just sharin it with yall.
Maybe and undrafted FA surprises. I know some people want a FB, but we don't need one, it's 2017. Not to mention, I know he's 6'4, but I think Boyle would be a NASTY FB. I'm guessing he would be a better blocker than Juice, and I think he's a more dangerous receiver for sure.
No more anticipation folks, here it is. I'm very ready to go into January with this roster. The coaching was discouraging at best last year, but it's a new year. To keep it simple, I LOVE that 52 man roster. Our defense is back. Opposing offenses fearing our defense is back. CANT WAIT
Wow, until I read this I didn't even know LT was still on the team. No disrespect to them but neither him nor Allen will do anything with hand offs. I would say neither would make the team, but, we didn't draft a back. I see us keeping Buck for ST.
Looks like we're counting on Levine, Chuck, Allen to lead Special Teams. Which sounds great to me. Kamar was a disaster last year. I'm really hoping Camp and Webby are big contributors in that department as well.
As far as the running game goes, we'll see if we add Mangold, and we'll see how many roads the line paves. I think they can become a very very good unit if we add someone like Mangold, but it may take a month or so into the season to get thereWhich is such a shame because we invested two 4th round picks on them and a lot of playing time! In the meantime guys like Demarco Murray got traded for a 4th round swap.
LT showed some promise but kept getting hurt! And Buck. Well il be nice and not comment on that lol
mangold would be a perfect fit. I don't know why the hold up?
Its funny how you conveniently said its gonna take a month or so. Of course they gonna look better when Dixon is back. I reserve judgement on Dixon until I see it myself. "Juicers" usually don't come back to 100 percent untill a year later when they go off the random test list. Just saying. I was on Dixons bandwagon all year but now I'm waaaaay of that wagon till he proves otherwise.
Forward to the 2018 draft. The Ravens select a RB in the first round. One can dream right
Looking at the team right now, going wr and rb in rounds 1 and 2 next year, in either order sounds great to me.
Yeah, either way, I'm just glad we have 4 corners now instead of 2.
The silver lining that I'm trying to reason to myself about Ju Ju, and believe me, I have to fight hard to do so.....lol, is at least we have a CB that matches up perfectly against him- Mr. Jimmy.
I like your ILB idea about Bowser. Part time on any downs would work really. Cuz you're right Timmy, Sizzle, and even Judon will be coming off the edges a lot. Bowser will too, but watching that film, and with the basketball background, it definitely looks like he could turn into an absolute premier cover lb, with pass rushing skills too.
What do you think of this line up going up against a third and 12. This lineup doesn't even include CJ on the field.
Sizzle and Timmy Williams rushing from the edges With Wormley, Kufasi, and Willie Henry rushing from the inside.
TJ playing "lb" in the middle of the field
Weddle playing deep
Tavon, Jimmy, and Carr in (we'll see if Marlon takes Carr's spot. I have faith in Carr though. Esp. now that he's back to being a number 2)
Then just have Bowser walking back and forth down the line before the snap. Let him diagnose the play. Either hang in the middle to hold it down with TJ, watch for a back coming out of the backfield, or just go get the QB with the rest of the boys!
And that lineup is without Marlon, Judon, Webb, and Mosely on the field.....
SO much depth, talent, and versatility for our D.
Let's add a couple more to the O and I'll be counting down the days til SeptemberI think that would be impressive. I don't think we'd line up with 3 big guys on a third and 12 but take any of them out and put Mosley in lol
did I mention that I really really like this D?!!
march 11 is when FAs don't count against comp picks any more. Looking forward to that date.
March 11th? we're well past that. Did you mean May 11th?
I'm glad the Bengals drafted Mixon, I think 90% of my least favorite players in the NFL all play for Cincy. Makes it easier to know who to boo at. I will always see the Steelers as our biggest rivals but the Bengals have become my least favorite team. An inept front office combined with a bunch of dirty players.
I hear that. Pacman and Burfict are two of the worst ever. That's why I'm stoked it happens twice a year and I actually enjoy watching Pitt and Cincy beat up on eachother
he is worth the risk.
no doubt, especially where we got him
I hope these guys are quick learners. I'd like to see us disguise our Defenses like we used to, with everyone moving around until the ball snaps. Never knowing where the rush is coming from. We have the tools but do they have the smarts? We'll see.
We definitely have the tools. Deepest and most talented D in the league now. Seattle and Houston has nice personnel as well. Besides Joe coming back from his Knee to soon, and Wright being on the team, the players weren't the problem last year.
We'll see what the coaches bring to the table this year. I'm not holding my breath, but anything will be better than last year
Take a breath,no one except New England wins the Super Bowl in May.Our Offense still is in the mourn-ing wig mode. Flacco needs a run tough 0-line that can make defenses think run on almost every snap so his play action deep throws can come back as good as when we(he) stopped using them because he was on his back too many times before&after mind numbing boring sam'ol,sam'ol ineffective running schemes.Mourn-ing wig is rather vanilla in his play calling schemes,a West Coast offense would be great,if we had a West Coast offense make up. 7-9 looking up at Steelers and Bengals on top. Patriots WIN!
They have a pretty good record of winning it in Feb as well.
10/10
HA. Bummer you think that. I would go bet on it as I thought it was 10/10
I think losing Coach Frazier is going to hurt a lot.
I hate that loss as well. But luckily we added A LOT of bigtime talent to our secondary- TJ, Carr, Marlon, and moved Webb into a back up role
Not to mention we got rid of my 2 least favorite ravens, which were easily some of our worst secondary players ever probably. Wright and Elam.
He is an amazing coach, and unfortunately like Kubiack, he was one and done.
But the Entire defense has beefed up big time, so I really don't think it'll hurt much
Terrence west is not the only one that should feel fired up about this draft. LT and Allen should also thank their stars and come prepared to prove their worth. Woodhead is taking their downs and Dixon comes back week 5 so this ship is sailing with or without them.
Wow, until I read this I didn't even know LT was still on the team. No disrespect to them but neither him nor Allen will do anything with hand offs. I would say neither would make the team, but, we didn't draft a back. I see us keeping Buck for ST.

I'm not too worried about that. It's the NFL, anyone can get hurt. Plus he only got hurt in 14', and sure it took him a long time to get back, but that's really the only injury of his career. I would bet anything he wants to go out with a bang. He still has some serious fire, desire, and game.
Going into the year with Cruz, Wallace, Perriman....would make me feel 10x better than if we didn't add anyone, which we might not. I would love for Camp to work that slot, but I think we all know Camp makes Jimmy Smith look like the ultimate iron man. We just simply need to add another piece or two if we're planning on beating NE in January. And I know there are some pessimists on here, or realists as they say, but I know we can.
I too love what we have done this offseason, I just wish we would've already added another wr or back. What can you do though. The defense is going to be nasty. Honestly I like Awuzie and Tabor better than Humphrey, and they went about a full round and a half later, but Marlon is now a Raven. And there's no denying he has potential. I just hate that word around here. At least he's walking into a perfect situation. Our first 2 picks are not 100% ready to start imo, which is kinda crazy, but they have potential. But so did AB and Elam. And to be honest, I was excited about Elam and AB when we drafted them. Bowser and Marlon could become bigtime players for us, but they're going to have to work incredibly hard to get there. Our 3rd round picks however, imo, are beautiful. Both ready to contribute right away. Chris can play anywhere on the line imo. Anywhere, while be effective from each spot. And we all know we're just going to put Timmy out there with one mission, GET THE QB.
I don't think there's any doubt we will be much better than last year, but if we want to go deep into January, and be playing in February, we need to add one or two offensive pieces imo. And they don't have to be big ones, at least contract wise. Not that we have a ton of money anyways. This is a pretty simple and basic approach, but I'm think we should cut Arrington and Watson. And sign Mangold and Cruz. I seriously believe that those 2 would upgrade our offense exponentiallyOh no don't get me wrong, Cruz or Q would surely make me feel better about this team but please excuse my greed. I'm hoping for something a bit better than just that.
I think your underestimating the value of Hump. He's a top ten talent and it shouldn't take him all season to become the starter. Carr was a great addition but hump can be a multiple pro bowler that can just take your best WR out of a game. He's even better! You don't get the opportunity to grab one of those guys without paying less than 10 mil a year so we're good.
Juju would have been nice but he's a steeler now and I hate him lol
When it comes to Bowser, I think he's the starter come September! Pass rush was a greater need as we have 2 good receivers but only one aging pass rusher that I still love but finally have to admit that his days are numbered.
Also, I don't think enough is said about Bowsers cover skills... He can really hang with anyone. And It makes me imagine a formation where Suggs and Williams rush from the outside. Judon from the inside and Bowser playing ILB with Mosley on obvious passing downs
Yeah, either way, I'm just glad we have 4 corners now instead of 2.
The silver lining that I'm trying to reason to myself about Ju Ju, and believe me, I have to fight hard to do so.....lol, is at least we have a CB that matches up perfectly against him- Mr. Jimmy.

SO much depth, talent, and versatility for our D.
Let's add a couple more to the O and I'll be counting down the days til September
I would give the Steelers a B, and the Bengals and Browns an A- with the upside of an A.
We killed it in the 3rd round. 2nd round....I'll wait on that. Marlon will make or break this draft. I thought there were better corners that went way later in the draft. Which could've set up a whole different strategy. You are a Baltimore Raven though now Marlon. I hope you read all of my comments for FIRE!
I know a lot of people won't want to hear this, but I just watched Cruz' highlights from just last year, I think the video was called rise, it's on youtube. He still looks pretty good imo. His legs look good. He didn't get a lot of separation when he was on the outside, but that's not his game. He was playing outside cuz Sterling was in the slot. He has also recently been saying he just wants to play. I'm sure he would Love to play for us. Though I'd rather have Q, I have a feeling he might not want to come back. Cruz would be cheap and be a nice chains mover from the slot. He would be a big jump ball red zone guy like we need, but he can still work the slot in the red zone. There aren't going to be a ton of quality options at this point, especially to add to the offense. But Cruz' legs looked good to me, and he looks to about as fiery as they come. Which would be another thing that just departed. Though he's not quite the physical bulldog that SSS and Q are, his heart looks to be just as big. I think it would be a great spark to add to our wr core, on and off the field
Cruz would surely be a welcomed addition in my opinion. Iv always been a big fan of his play. His injury history would scare me more than anything else at this point. I just feel like by the time he works some chemistry with Joe, he'll be injured again
I'm not too worried about that. It's the NFL, anyone can get hurt. Plus he only got hurt in 14', and sure it took him a long time to get back, but that's really the only injury of his career. I would bet anything he wants to go out with a bang. He still has some serious fire, desire, and game.

Depends on what we are "contending" for. If its for a playoff spot, we're already there.
If its for a SB, then yes, probably at least a year or two away.
I look at it this way...
1. I don't see any team in our division, outside of maybe Cleveland, who has significantly upgraded their roster from the previous year. Pittsburgh did basically nothing in FA, and while they made some draft picks I liked, I still think their defense is a significant liability. Cincinnati is going to be a lot worse than people think they are, mostly because they're not very good defensively anymore and their Oline is atrocious. And while Cleveland is doing a lot of things I like, we obviously know they aren't contenders next season.
2. If you make the case that our offense is still bad, we at least on paper upgraded the defense, or particularly, upgraded the secondary. I can't see a version of this team being worse on defense this year than last year.
In theory I suppose we could be even worse on offense, but that's hard to see based on how badly we looked at times.
Great post. I'm loving the offseason so far. We need a few more pieces and this team can compete. We don't even need game breakers. Just a few quality starters.
I know a lot of people won't want to hear this, but I just watched Cruz' highlights from just last year, I think the video was called rise, it's on youtube. He still looks pretty good imo. But your information isn't as reliable, because you're not actually READING the information.
My information is based on what he's actually done in the past (i.e. waiting until July to sign last year to avoid the offseason program) and based on what other reporters have said.
Your information seems to based on a 2014 article that you either didn't read, or read the title and THOUGHT that it said that he was interested in returning to Baltimore to play for the Ravens.
That's not reliable information. That's you wanting an article to say something that it doesn't say, also known as being manipulative. That's what you did.
All you have is the Ravens want him back. That's it. Don't bother responding, because you have no further insight or information. to add to this.Of course I'm not reading it... SMH..... move on now.
I don't know why you even have a discussion with that user. They are closed minded and think their opinion, which is all it is, an opinion, is fact. Almost everything related to the NFL is opinion. Even when you bring up stats, everyone is in completely different situations so even stats are irrelevant a lot of times while trying to make a point. I love having open discussions and learning from others opinions on here, but as you're finding out probably, useless with that one
I wrote this to you Mom Gene in case there was confusion there

Honestly I'm not worried about that position one bit. Relatively easy spot to fill. An example is how Orr shined. Especially with the talent he had around him. There will be much much more talent sorrounding that spot this year. All the way around. K.C., maybe P.O., another user brought up the good thought of how Bowser can also play the middle while Timmy and Sizzle come off the edge at times. Basketabll , background, he looks really nimble with his coverage on some tape. Also there will definitely be a lot of times where Mosely is holding down the middle by himself, and times where Jefferson plays next to him as well, with Webby and Tavon coming in on some sets. I hear ya, but I'm not worried about that spot what so ever.
