  1. You would be 100% correct if we took someone like Tabor or Awuzie. Not to mention they're still on the board. This guy got absolutely torched down the field, IN COLLEGE, with one of the best Front 7's of all time in front of him................ You're telling me you want that going up against Brady and Ben? When It matters. Especially this year? We'll see. In any case, I agree, let's kick butt day 2. It IS make or break time
  2. I'm clearly one of the negative ones about the pick. I've done a ton of studying, here's my opinion. We like him because, and he is fast and physical. He has good measurables, and looked good at the underwear olympics. And he went to Bama...yahoo? I'm bummed because, not only did we leave all pros on the board for this guy, but this corner class is insane. IMO, and a lot of others, there will be better corners coming off the board well more than a full round later. All that, but MORE importantly his play He doesn't have very good instincts or ball skills, which is a big bummer if you're a corner, especially the number 16 pick, in this class, esp playing at Bama and on that D as long as he did. But more importantly he gets torched down the field. He panics and doesn't play the ball or wr well when the ball is in the air. And this is the way I feel about that, and a lot of analyst agree. That's kind of an either you have it or you don't sort of thing. Goes along with instincts, it's not really something you can teach. I sincerely hope he can fix it, and I'm wrong about the pick overall, but that is a bad trait to take up against Brady and Ben. I also think corners like Awuzie, Tabor, King, Wilson, and others will easily be better than him. And they're still on the board. We could've gone for Sidney, cuz we're all set this year with 3 starters. Nothing to do about it now. We are all hoping I'm wrong. Friday is HUGE. And yeah, listening to Harbaugh talk about our players and team is Really old at this point. He just says what everyone wants to hear to say the least. I'm hoping to wait til January to hear him talk this Season
  3. Howard is a future All Pro imo I don't think Marlon will sniff a pro bowl- hopefully I'm wrong But even with Marlon being my absolute 100% worst case 1rst round scenario, I still agree with your last sentence. Friday will make or break the draft. If I were the GM, I would do just about everything I could to get more picks today. I honestly think this years 3rd round, will rock the 1rst round from 2013, just as a quick example of this talented class.
  4. LOL. Looked ridiculous? What do you mean? I missed it, I wasn't watching when he was picked
  5. I definitely would've like Lamp as our 1 pick rather than Humphrey. It would've been a better strategy and good idea to draft Lamp in the 1st, Sidney Jones (since he doesn't have to play right away) or Desmond King in the 2nd (Desmond King is definitely playmaker at corner that could also contribute at safety and could replace Weddle in the future), Pat Elfein in the 3rd, and so forth. Then just sign Boldin to a one year deal and then find a replacement in 2018 and their you have it. But it didn't go this way. LOL. But some of these ideas could still happen. I thought Humphrey was one of the players we would strongly be considering. There were only 2 players I was really hoping we didn't take at 16, that I though would be a possibility. Cam was # 2. #1 was Marlon. Absolute worst case scenario and then some imo. We'll see. As incredibly painful as yesterday was, I still somehow stand by what I was think before the draft started. Friday is more important this Thursday this year. For sure. I'm REALLY hoping we give up a 2018 pick or two for another pick or 2 today (Friday)
  6. If Allen was a top 3 pick, why was he available at 16? Because some teams felt comfortable with his medicals and some didn't. And because this draft is as loaded of a draft as I've ever seen
  7. It all started with the Ray Rice incident. Since then, the office begin to take "safe" picks instead of risk to take high character players that could make an immediate impact. It's a bummer to say the least
  8. so you forgot that the ravens have 3 top 15 NFL safeties on the roster? with jimmy locking down his side you can roll coverage towards humphrey. tbh jimmy had the same issues early in his career and ended up well. conveniently humphrey is being compared to jimmy so he can learn up close and personal from him. 3 Safeties won't be on the field that often. And wait a second, you're telling me we'll need to roll coverage every time because the 16 overall pick can't hang by himself? Jimmy did not have problems playing the ball or covering down the field coming out. And he certainly didn't have one of the best college front 7s ever playing in front if him. We'll see. I hope I'm wrong
  9. Those "safe" picks were complete whiffs. It's set us back, there's no getting around it. It's all started at Elam and things haven't gotten any better in years
  10. Lamp should've been our pick at 16. It's unreal he's still on the board, guys like Eric Fisher go first overall, and Jake Matthews goes before Mike Evans. But Lamp doesn't go in the first in this draft, and we take a guy that can't cover down that field at 16 overall. When we have 3 set starters at corner too. Our FO has become Pitt and NE spies...LOL Lamp is one of the best, polished, and most versatile lineman I've seen come out in the past decade, or ever for that matter
  11. Lamp should've been our pick at 16. I thought we would've learned seeing Martin go right before us and his affect. At the very least he would've been a pro bowl Guard or RT for us, probably even a Center if we wanted. I doubt we'll get him tomorrow. I cannot believe he is still on the board Ju Ju....................Ju Ju...............Ju Ju Ju Ju Ju Ju Ju! - gotta do it, it'll flip our wr core 180 degrees, right away and for the future
  12. That's funny I live in Cleveland Ohio rite next door and the Ravens are the only team the squeelers respect! They have more respect for Ozzie and Co. than some of these so called Ravens fans! Like I said before if the Ravens make a run for the Super Bowl they gotta face the squeelers or pats and they both carve up secondaries so why not beef up the secondary like Ozzie and Co.are doing and did! "This is chess it ain't checkers" so sit back and let them do their jobs! Have you watched any tape on him, and I'm not referring to the highlight good stuff. Every analyst and fan can see that he gets beat deep. The stats even back it up. Big games, everything. Even on the best D in college, with an absurd front 7. Please tell me how a College starter that gave up 18 yards a catch as a starter, on that D, in college I repeat, is going to help vs Ben and Brady? Especially if he plays this year? He would've been an interesting option at 47 maybe. We've been playing checkers in the draft for a while. There's a reason we've been falling off, for a while now
  13. 14% was just putting into perspective how much time we have left to still fill holes. . I agree with you that we've whiffed and personally I would have taken O.J. Howard but this is still a great pick. #1 corner on the best defense in college football. I just feel that recent whiffs have made us fail to give these new picks the benefit of the doubt. Plus, the money for us in this drafts are those two third rounders. Let's let the draft finish before assuming the sky is falling. I hear you about overreacting. It just sucks because it's been happening for years and years now. And first and second round picks are how you build a franchise. OJ Howard is an all pro and the man. Instant top 3 te. Can't believe we didn't help the run, pass game, and Flacco by drafting him. Unreal. Really though, saying he was the number one corner on the # defense in college means absolutely nothing. Especially in this case considering he was a weak point on their defense multiple times, especially in big games vs better players, when it matters. He got torched down the field in multiple big games. Panics when the ball is in the air.......bad instincts and ball skills...........NOT COOL Let's see what happens tomorrow. I'm nervous now instead of excited. Tomorrow is huge and we have a chance to turn it around, but I'm not holding my breath. Here are a couple names I hope become Ravens- King Awuzie Tabor Lamp Ju Ju!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lawson! Eflein! Cook?- I don't think he was drafted SO many great players left. At least a round of usual first rounders how many TEs do we need ? Pitta, Watson, Boyle, Waller, Gilmore, Williams. Do we need more than 6 TEs, I think not.... ONE. at least one solid one that stays on the field would be helpful. And don't even try to call Pitta a TE, or brag about his dump off stats. Howard will be an all pro, maybe as early as year one
  14. Also, I'm guessing Ozzie would have felt like he wasted two major TE investments if he would have picked O.J. With maxx and Crockett. That's cool and all but May show us that we truly don't draft BPA. Crockett wasn't a big investment at all. And he can't stay on the field. Plus Crockett and Howard would be such a nasty 2 te set. It's not like we'd cut Maxx. But he is just one of his recent high pick busts. And think we traded up for him too. Awesome. That fact that he couldn't even hit the field last year says everything. Some people on here made the excuse that he's not strong enough, yet. That's the saddest excuse I've ever heard on here for an NFL player. Plus Howard is a straight wrecking ball of a WR too. If we don't add Ju Ju, or some like Zay, our wr core and offense will be SO ugly. Can't even imagine A for FA F for the draft so far Like you said, there's a bit left, let's see what happens tomorrow And those A and F grade's have been pretty constant over the past few years. With both being a little exaggerated. Our drafts our sinking everything, while lucky grabs like Weddle and Smitty have kept us floating
  15. 14% was just putting into perspective how much time we have left to still fill holes. . I agree with you that we've whiffed and personally I would have taken O.J. At least a round of usual first rounders how many TEs do we need ? Pitta, Watson, Boyle, Waller, Gilmore, Williams. Do we need more than 6 TEs, I think not.... Considering we didn't have 1 true TE take the field last year................................?????????????? That's not even considering Howard is the most talented TE I've ever seen come out Pitta is overrated and my sister blocks better Gilmore can't stay on the field Watson is almost 40 and coming off a devastating injury and hasn't played 1 snap Boyle is a good back up that was suspended almost all of last year Waller is the definition of "potential". Def. not a true TE And Maxx is a bust and can't even get on the field in his 2nd year, some say because he's still not strong enough....LOL seriously? Our TE group is overrated and has potential, unfortunately that doesn't count for anything! That can't stay, or get on the field
  16. I have a feeling Ozzie is either going to completely make up for this tomorrow, or just completely TANK again, and really help influence the end of his tenure. And there is a chance to make up for it. There is still at least a full round of usual first rounders left. Many ways to do it. Here are a few names I like. -Carl Lawson - JU JU SMITH SCHUSTER - Chidobe Awuzie -Desmond King -Forrest Lamp -Dalvin Cook -Quincy Wilson - Pat Eflein - Teez Tabor - Malik McDowell - Sidney Jones -Kevin King Unfortunately I like all the corners above twice as much as Marlon. There was the best case-worse case article last night, this was beyond worse case. Somehow I'm not surprised though. We should already have Lamp- an all pro Center, Guard, or RT, or Howard, and instant pro bowler and probably all pro. He would've helped the run, pass game, and most importantly, Joe. Or Allen to add to Pierce and BWill on the line. Run dominance and interior pass rush. Instead, we already have 3 good starting corners in place, so now Marlon, a corner that can't cover down the field, the #16 overall pick, is our 4th corner.JEEZ I would think Lamp, Lawson, Cook, King, and most importantly Ju Ju, have to be serious targets for us tomorrow. If we get 2 of them that would be sweet. If we get 3 or 4 I'll shut my big mouth ( or fat fingers in this case) and I won't care if Marlon turns out to be as good as Shareece Wright. Seriously. Which he might. Besides Marlon being 12 pounds heavier, their measurables are almost identical. And they have the same cover tendencies and both panic when the ball is in the air. They both lack instincts, ball skills, and can't cover down the field.........but they are fast and physical......sounds like the # 16 pick to me Lets go get Ju Ju!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is exactly what we need. If we get him, he would complete our wr core in so many ways. His addition to what we have would take us from having a bottom 5 core, to a top 10 wr core imo. If we don't draft a wr tomorrow, our group is going to be so ugly going into the season. Cook is another playmaker. We need playmakers. He's bound to go early tomorrow Wilson, King, Tabor, and Awuzie are Ravens. Now the Steelers are probably going to get one :( Not a great start, but tomorrow is make or break time. I hope we give up a 2018 pick or two for another pick or two tomorrow. Crazy talent coming off the board tomorrow. I think tomorrow's 3rd round will be more talented than 2013's first round!

  18. Awuzie or TreDevious White would have been a solid pick Marlon has some upside, but we've all heard that word before. His floor is low. Taking a guy at 16 that can't cover down the field, in this draft, in this corner draft.....WOW
  19. Way to go Ozzie, I live in CA and I can hear the Steelers laughing from here
  20. If you take a player at 16 overall, in one of the most talented drafts of all time................... I would certainly hope he was considered a 1rst round lock?!?!?! LOL But he wasn't even.... :( I've seen him in the middle of the second in almost every mock for weeks now I wouldn't have even considered him at 47 overall! And I put that in multiple posts before today too btw. There are more than a handful of corners still on the board that are better. That can actually cover down the field...........lol But he went to Alabama....and ran fast in shorts....SWEET Ozzie continues to amaze, in the worst way possible I thought he was back on track after this FA, but the Drafts, the most important 3 days for every NFL franchise, are still our downfall. The went from a strength for us, to a serious weakness. There's a reason we're not only missing out on the big games in January and February these days, but we can't even make the playoffs now. SAD
  21. 1 divided by 7, good job. But lets think about it, I think a first round pick is a little more important than the rest. Plus, those comments aren't based off of 1 pick. You know that! It's based off of our opinion of this 1rst round pick ( and many other non Ravens fans), but also more importantly the WHIFFS that have been happening in the high rounds for years and years now. There's a reason we have fallen off big time from what we used to be year after year. The Ravens themselves even admitted before this draft how they've been screwing up big time in recent drafts, and how it's bringing the team down. It's one thing if our first and second rounders turn into good players, or even average players that find a way to contribute just a little to a win here or there, but we are picking 1rst and 2nd round picks that can't even stay in the league. Can't stay competitive, let alone challenge for SuperBowls when you have first and second round picks like that, year after year, after year. Maxx Perriman KC Elam AB just to name a few 1rst and 2nd rounders from the past few years
  22. Yes we do need DTs. We didn't get any pressure from our line last year and Allen was rated as the 2nd best player in the draft by many OJ will be an ALL PRO and top 4 TE from day 1. We have Pitta that can't block, and a bunch of guys that are overrated as well and can't get on the field Foster is a pro bowler day 1 Even though our 3 starting corners are set, a lot of us still wanted a corner, and for good reason, but not a reach in the first. There are better corners that will be on the board a round from now. This guy won't start this year, and if he does, we're in trouble. Let's think about this, the guy played on THE best defense in college football, and was surrounded by studs everywhere. Yet he continuously got burned down the field, even in big games. Gave up EIGHTEEN yards a reception as a starter. That is NOT the second best corner in the draft. Few had him rated as that. Teez is twice as good. Getting a corner at 16 overall, especially in this draft, that is notoriously known for not having instincts, ball skills, and most importantly CANNOT cover down the field, is not going to help anytime soon vs Brady, Ben, Rodgers, and the whole NFL for that matter. What a sad day for Ravens fans. There are 6-8 better corners that will come off the board tomorrow. Ozzie is playing blackjack and keeps hitting on a 16. Step away Ozzie. Please. We all appreciate your work from the past
  23. No longer be an issue? Why? Cuz we just picked a guy that doesn't have instincts, ball skills, and can't cover down the field? He got torched in multiple games trying to do so. Gave up 18 yards a reception as a starter???? For the 16th pick in this draft? What a joke All because he tested well in underwear at the combine and went to Alabama. Time to step down Ozzie. Now I'm nervous to watch tomorrow instead of excited. Elam Perriman Maxx KC AB These first and second round WHIFFS are killing us. Marlon at SIXTEEN OVERALL better not end up on this list We might as well bolstered the O-line now by drafting Forrest Lamp at guard with our 2nd, then draft Pat Efflein at center with one of our 3rd round picks and hopefully use our early 3rd with Sidney Jones then my draft opinion will change because we boost the o-line and then sign Boldin to a 2 year deal and call it a day. Seriously. That's what I was saying. If we added Lamp and Eflein we would've had a top 5 line, easy. Q won't want to come back to this organization that is going downhill, esp. after the way they did him. We better get Lamp or Ju Ju tomorrow. I didn't think it was possible to screw this draft up, Ozzie has really accelerated his decline with this pick. Unreal. We passed on an ALL PRO TE for a corner that not one analyst thinks has a chance of being a number 1 corner. What a joke....that isn't funny at all. Except to Steeler fans
  24. OJ will automatically be a top 4 TE in the NFL day 1. Ozzie lost it, a while ago too The phrase "in Ozzie we trust" hasn't even been whispered in half a decade
  25. Not only did they get a WAY better corner at 27, than we did at 16, but he's also way more verstaile. Marlon has no chance of playing the slot if needed. White is a gamer a twice the corner Marlon is. ALSO, White is a great returner.............which we need as well. This was the number one player I thought we might take at 16, and was really hoping we wouldn't. Didn't think it was possible for Ozzie to screw the draft up again, especially in this draft. I was wrong. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
