  1. LOL. This guy will be a top 5 Safety next year and make the pro bowl. Easily imo. No way he turns out anything like Lewis. Not even close. Lewis was never a standout player and nobody really even wanted him in FA. We just thought it was a "cheap" fix that we could bridge the gap with for a little bit I think. If we add a Legit corner to the other 4 members of our secondary, we'll be in for a treat. Barnett in the first and a corner in the second, or corner in the first and then pass rush and the Ravens Defense will be back
  2. No way. So glad we didn't shell out that money to an average player. Plus helps with comp picks. I know what you mean, but I don't see it with Guy
  3. That's what I'm thinking. I hope we can get him in the third. He was a top 10 pick imo before the injury
  4. Its past 8-8 right now if we draft well I personally hope all of those guys are cut though I think Claiborne is a terrible idea Mangold should be explored And I think Zach Brown should be a big target I know a lot of people around here don't like old folks coming in. But different and dominant players are lasting longer than usual these days. I would love to add Peppers or Ware to rush on thirds downs opposite Suggs. And give Sizzle breathers. They can both stop the run and would be great additions in every other way too. We have a chance to really get an A++ this offseason. I give the FO a solid A right now. Have to draft well though. Better than well!
  5. LOL. I know exactly what you mean with that last line. I'm pretty much right with you, but here is my DREAM scenario to finish the offseason. And I believe it's very feasible. Close to what you're saying, with a couple twists. Cut Webb, Pitta, and Watson -Sign Zach Brown to play inside with CJ -Give up future picks in order to pick twice in the first round this year - Select a corner and pass rusher in the first ---- Hopefully Jones/Lattimore or Wilson. And Barnett - Second round take Ju Ju Smith- big, tough, possession, red zone target at the wr position we really really need. For now and the future - Third round. Take a Center and a Guard or Tackle depending on where they're planning on playing Lewis. In all honestly I think this would make immediate SB contenders. It would leave us with very little holes anywhere, even moving into the future. And we have money coming off the books next year from some left overs. I also think this would give us the number one D in the NFL. By a long shot. It really would be a thing of beauty
  6. That film is impressive to say the least. I went back and watched 4 cardinals games against good QBs last year. This guy literally plays like an undersized LB close to the line and his cover skills are not bad at all! He can man up with most TEs if needed. i wouldn't be surprised if he plays ILB on third and long. He can literally line up anywhere pre snap and mark just about anyone other than #1 WRs. organized chaos....? Exactly what I was thinking. STOKED
  7. I wouldn't check off safety just yet. I think it would be wise to look for a true FS. At this point in his career Weddle is better suited as a SS and SS is TJs natural position. Although those guys are better in coverage than most SS in the league it would still be a good idea to bring in (preferably through the draft) a young guy better suited for that center fielder roll. He would be able to learn from the vets with the hope that he could take over Weddles spot somewhere down the line. Menelik would be an interesting pick up. Does anyone no what Vollmers situation is? Is he recovering from an injury? Really? Sorry but I disagree. While it would always be nice to draft a player to groom at any position, while you have a stud vet already there to learn from, I don't see it. We would have to spend at least a 4th rounder if we're trying to get a guy for the future. And I just don't see us spending a 4th rounder on a safety when we're set for years imo. Understandably so, but people get carried away with age at times. SSS is my favorite athlete of all time, and I'll never forget the things the fans were saying about him when we brought him in, cuz of his age. I'm not saying Weddle is SSS, but he is a special player and one of the most underated ones ever imo. He has at least 2 years left of HIGH quality play. And Jefferson is just getting going. Wasn't Weddle ranked as the 2nd best Safety overall? The guy has not slowed down at all, and our Defense is only making him better. Not to mention I sincerely think he will make a better FS than SS. He's not the most physical tackler at all, and it should help preserve him a little there. And he's super instinctive, a ball hawk, and can lead the back end. Tony is crazy in the box. I was rooting so much for us to bring in a SS so Weddle would move to FS. I think it's gonna be good stuff to say the least The Safety position is set for years, and once we add a legit corner (hopefully at #16 this year), our secondary will be set for years. And one of the top couple in the league. Menelik is kinda interesting. And yeah Vollmer failed a physical and missed last year cuz of injuries. Rumors he might retire
  8. Zach Brown anybody???? I have a hard time thinking we're not going after him right now Signing Jefferson and Keeping BWill just improved our run D from last year already. If we add Brown, we will have THE best run D the whole year next year. We all loved Orr, but Brown would be a upgrade over Orr vs the run Not to mention Carl Davis should/better get involved this year. Putting BWIll, Pierce, and Davis next to each other on obvious running down will be a thing of beauty I don't think it's possible our O can be any worse next year, but Ravens football has always been about defense to me And I'm already excited to watch our D next year. Great job in FA FO
  9. A lot of what people are missing is if we do go ahead and pursue Claiborne that allows us to use our 1st round pick on a pass rusher or even inside linebacker. Reuben Foster will be sitting there to take over Orr or a pass rusher that could take over Doom. If we don't pursue Claiborne the obvious first round pick should be corner, as you stated tavon is impressive but is better suited for the nickel and Jimmy is a great number 1 but he always gets hurt. In my opinion this would be a good signing. The guy was a first round pick that has been in the league for 5 years. He's never played 16 games and only got close to doing so once. I don't see how we could even be considering him. Not only paying on him, but relying on him too. He makes Jimmy look like an Ironman. This corner class is insane. Time to take a legit lock down #1. To not only pair with Jimmy and Tavon, but he can take over if Jimmy does go down. As well as take over for us in the future when Jimmy is not around. Might be able to get away with pass rusher in the first and corner in the second, but that could be a huge mistake. There will be legit lock down corners ava. at 16 no matter what this year
  10. Webb in the slot. He's built for it. 5 years ago, before injuries
  11. Desean Jackson just got about 12 a year for 3 years. And Wallace is more durable and has a better attitude. I agree, it would be nice to extend and lower the cap number. But he's maybe overpaid by 2 mil a year imo, maybe. Also this way we're not comited after next year, and might get a comp pick too. Not sure bout that though. Still a bit of money to free up with cuts
  12. Same here
  13. Harrison might be a better player, maybe, barely. I hear you though, and this is what I'm thinking Contracts are going up every year, it's natural. And he took a lot of guaranteed money which helps, and he deserves it and is a good player and person to give it to. i wouldn't think for one second he would slack off after getting paid I think Pierce is amazing. But gambling on him being on only real NT going into the year is tough. Esp for us. I remember watching us get run all over a couple years ago and it was almost more painful than anything. Now we have Pierce and BWill for years to stuff the run, so that alone is a thing of beauty. And while I think they'll both improve their pass rush.....I know I know, that's not their job! We all get it. That doesn't mean they can't add it to everything else. But even if they don't, they pretty much take up 4 blockers together lol. I also think this move will allow Pierce to progress nicely, while keeping both big boys relatively fresh. I want Carl Davis to join in and make it a 3 headed Monster To your point about having so many bodies up front. I think it's a great thing. I think we now just need to add another monster opposite SIzzle, and our line is way set. Barnett would be super interesting. We also haven't seen stand out work from Urban. Henry hasn't played. Davis hasn't done anything. Kufasi hasn't played. And Timmy isn't the most reliable and is a little overated imo. So it's nice like we're forced to keep stars on the bench. This also allows us to focus on a couple other parts of our D now. Another corner and pass rusher, and I don't see how this D ever escapes the top 3 throughout the year. I know what you're saying though. I was really unsure about paying him that much at first, but I think it was a great move. Didn't see the TJ signing coming either. I put it out there, but didn't think we would get it done and right away. Hats off to the FO, but we'll still be teetering in the middle if we don't do the same in the draft. It's just as if not more important imo. Time to draft some Ravens that help lead us for the next 7-10 years
  14. Williams is back, and we just added Tony Jefferson......and we will still be adding to the D Our run defense next year should be absurd. Jefferson upgrades it no doubt. He can cover but he also plays and blitzes like a linebacker. We undoubtedly have to get a legit corner, most likely in the first round or two.... but if Barnett slips to 16, and we throw him on the other side of Sizzle....this Defense. We're on our way back to a true Black and Purple Defense With Dixon out for 4 games, I now understand why we tendered West and signed Woodhead Amazing job FO!!!! I don't care what happens in the rest of FA, I give yall an "A". The draft is what's been bringing us down though. We have really good picks in a great draft. Let's go knock it out of the park like FA.
  15. This not only fills a need but this guy is a play maker in his prime, that is getting better every year. He's also hungry and plays like a Raven on the field. He will be a fan favorite in no time. He is one of the best Safeties in the game right now, and our defense is only going to make him better. I thought he was going to cost a bit more Considering price tag, age, position, the whole FA market ( weak),....taking everything into consideration, this might've been the best FA to sign this year. I'm incredibly impressed with his film. Our D next year.......we'll still add a corner, or two, and another pass rusher. And the ILB spot will be Way easier to fill than most think imo. Great job FO
  16. lol. First of all, that's essentially what a SS is. But, you're also wrong. The dude can play FS and cover, and blitz better than most dbs. Amazing pick up
  17. I don't think he was overpaid at all. Great work FO
  18. I'm not sure I get the hate for Sidney Jones but I for one would cry if we got him because we would finally get the secondary we need. Lattimore is not making it to 16 and I wouldn't mind Wilson. Tabor is trash though. Unless he goes to Seattle where holding is a no call penalty. Wait. That was confusing. Not sure if you like Sidney Jones or not
  19. no doubt. this guy will be All over the place on our D. Looks like an amazing blitzer!
  20. Camp can't be relied on. And will be teamed with Woodhead in the return game Allen is good for Special teams and that really is it Dixon will be our main back and will be carrying a lot of the load and needs time off. And needs to improve his pass protection Also, he's not really going to be a rb- he'll be a screen/ wr/ scat back type. I doubt even our coaches can screw that up His injury was week 2 as well at least. Could be interesting
  21. They tendered West at 1.8 mil....does that mean we can still release him without paying that? If not, looks like we're set at rb for the year Dixon, then West. Then Woodhead as the wr, scat back, gabriel role, returner I wasn't stoked at first but now I'm kinda diggin it. Hopefully he's nice and healthy
  22. Let's get that done Grab Zach Brown for ILB. Maybe Mangold and move onto the draft is what I'm thinkin I like logan Ryan, but Im thinking that would prevent us from drafting a corner at 16
  23. Not really. Woodhead is one of the worst RBs in the league in pass pro. As a 3rd down back, you are doing one of three things: draw play, pass route, or pass protection. https://www.profootballfocus.com/signature-stats-pass-blocking-efficiency-rbs-and-tes/ Yeah, he won't be in there for pass protection. I'm thinkin route, screens, scat plays. Gabriel like plays And I'm hoping for something in the return game too maybe. We tendered Camp....so Camp and Danny returning? That sounds awesome to me
  24. The only reason why I wasn't all in on this guy from the start is because I thought he was coasting 10+ a year. There're talking 7-8 a year. SO worth it. This guy is 25, a STUD, and just rising. Him with Weddle. YES
