Millsap was towards the top of my board. I'll make my pick very shortly, sorry for the slight delay.
Really hard decision for me, but I decided to go with Parsons. He is a very good shooter who can handle the ball and distribute as well. I knew he wouldn't make it back and I needed another wing defender.
Nice pick, he was up there on my board
2015 2nd Team All NBA Selection just went. That's value, even if he is up there in age.
It is a small sample size, but I see no reason for him to regress.
I agree. I didn't intend for my criticism of small sample size to overlook his talent and game. Gobert is a good pick. Only reason why I said I thought he went a little early is because I didn't know how everyone else in here viewed him and where they would've drafted him because of his small sample size. By the praise of the pick, I believe he wouldn't have been available much longer, so it is a solid pick to get the man you wanted.
Once he started getting minutes, he was 11 and 13 with 2.6 blocks per game. He was arguably the best defensive big in the NBA.
Yeah, I know. I targeted him in fantasy (daily and season long) and he did very well. And once he got minutes and traded Kanter, the Jazz went from being bad on defense to arguably the best defensive team in the NBA.
Even getting 10ppg on putbacks, easy layups and uncontested jumpers has its place if you have enough scorers imo. Otherwise I agree, he was another guy I was looking at. Thankfully my main target's still around, but I'm starting to sweat a bit.
Agree 100%.
I was wondering where Gobert would end up. I think it's a little early for him (due to lack of sample size), but he certainly has high potential. Elite defense and shot blocking, solid rebounding. If he can expand his offensive game he'll certainly be a real threat. Mostly scores on putbacks/easy layups and dunks, as he his field goal attempts per game are usually low.
That's a bit optimistic.
Haha, that was two seasons ago though. He tried on defense more this past year, to get him to a ehhh not bad point in my opinion. He used to be brutal though that's for sure. Also, I'm hoping to establish team defense so Draymond and Conley can help with his defensive flaws.
I needed a scorer to keep up with your offenses. Beal provides good defense and great shooting. He was bad from mid range this season but he's really good for what I need him to do.
Like the Beal pick. I envision him fitting very nicely next to CP3 and Wiggins. I like that trio
thanks man. Conley makes a hell of a lot of sense for your squad though
Thanks, I thought so too. Harden is a "ehhh..not bad..." defender, so I'm glad to get two defensive studs (who are pretty good offensively, as well) at their respected positions to go along with him.
Like the Gay pick. He was my top SF available. Was considering him over Conley. Also, a local kid from Maryland who went to Spalding. Gotta like that.
Damn it. Conley was my number my main target at this point. Good pick.
Thanks. I was going to take him in the second round, but decided to wait on point guard. Happy that he was still available in the third.
Pretty thrilled to land Mike Conley here. With Harden as my main ball handler, I wanted a defensive point guard who can shoot a spot up three on the catch. Conley fits that bill. I believe he is one of the best defensive point guards in the league. 1-on-1 defense is strong, and knows how to play defense (can trap opposing point guards by allowing them to get to a spot where he knows a teammate will be there). He knows how to run an offense well. Conley and Harden is a pretty strong backcourt in my opinion.
With the 36th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft a Franchise, the True Detectives select:
Mike Conley, PG

Other guys I was considering were Ibaka and Dwight. Two good value picks there, to go along with LeBron. That's a good start.
I'm not a big NBA guy, but I'm pretty surprised to see one player still on the board.
I am 99.9% sure I know who you're talking about
Yeah I thought Harden and Love would be a nice 1-2, but that defense would be poor. Also, now that he's the second/third man with his stats down, I didn't want to hypothetically assume he's back to 20-12 in this game compared to 16-10 in real life. Only had Green in front for his versatility, defense, and intangibles
It was between Love and Draymond for me. With Harden already on my team, having Love would've been too much of a defensive liability. Good pick nonetheless
Thank you. Wiggins has the potential to be an elite player and is already a very good defender. He needs to develop a consistent 3- point shot but even then he's a good scorer with the potential to do better. Him and Paul make a good duo.
Yes and no. It was too early yes but elite defensive players are hard to find. Big reason I took Andrew and Paul was because of their defensive prowess. Draymond just has a firey passion and can guard multiple positions very effectively. He's a capable scorer but isn't great or anything. He can shoot the three.
It's a reach in my eyes but not an ungodly one. You can build a team around him
This is the main reason why I took him. I was looking at a couple other players, but their defense wasn't on the same level as Draymond's. I already have a 1st Team All NBA scoring machine in Harden, so I wanted to balance the other end of the floor. I love Green's defense & passion/intensity, and I like his offense as well. He is a capable scorer, can find the open man with a nice pass, and can get offensive boards. I like his screen-and-roll game as well.
Ron Artest is upset that he couldn't select modern day Ron Artest
I like your Wiggins pick, I was considering him at my pick until you took him. Do you think I took Draymond too early? I doubt he would've been available in my third round pick, so I feel like I had to reach a little for the type of player I wanted.
This pick was tough. I had a few other guys in mind, each who would've changed the outlook of my team from the start. But Draymond is the type of player I want if I were to build a franchise. Many Warriors said he was the heart and soul of the team. He's an elite versatile defender who does whats needed to win a game. He may not be a top 25 talent in the NBA, but I need a passionate defender and teammate to go alongside Harden. I think his all-around offensive game will grow into next year. Theirs only a few players like Draymond in the NBA, and I like him alongside Harden.
With the 25th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft a Franchise, the True Detectives select:
Draymond Green, F

Nice pick in Jimmy Buckets. One of the better two way players in the league and has room to grow. Didn't think he was going to, but I wanted him to fall to me.
A little over two hours before skip time. I'd be willing to bet money that the pick would be between two certain former draftees.
I'm interested to see who goes in these next 5 picks before I'm up.
