  1. Thanks. Definitely a short-term rental. Your roster (Duncan, Parker, Wade) actually came to mind when I realized I didn't have enough playoff experience/championship status. Needed an old head like Pierce in there.
  2. Pierce doesn't offer any upside for future years, but I believe he still has one or two more years left in him, as he signed a three year deal with the Clippers. My team lacked championship pedigree (Draymond Green was the only player on my team with a ring), and my players could use a mentor like Pierce. I'm sure his minutes will be limited this upcoming season, but he's still an effective scorer and truly loves the game. That's why he's still playing. He lives for clutch moments too, so he's a nice option off the bench in close games. Also, he's another shooter/scorer for Tyreke to operate with.
  3. The True Detectives select: Paul Pierce, SF
  4. Thought he was up, just double checking
  5. Who's on the clock?
  6. I was going to suggest earlier in the draft if you could specifically name the team you were drafting for, just so I could keep up with their roster, but it's all good now
  7. Truths abundance of picks has thrown me off as well. He is helping this thing move along which is clutch
  8. Dieng is a good player. I drafted him late in last years draft. He still has a lot of upside and could fit real nice next to Towns
  9. Brief Assessment: Your front court is looking strong with Millsap, Noah, Kanter, and Bogut. I like the way those games counteract with each other - example: Bogut a great defender, while Kanter is a defensive liability but is solid on offense. Paul, Beal, Wiggins, with Russell off the bench (so far), has its strengths. CP3 is one of the best floor generals in the NBA, Beal can score and will improve, Wiggins is already a great defender and his offensive game has a lot of promise. Russell is a long term investment, but will still put up numbers in his rookie year. Overall, I like your team. All your players are guys who I targeted on my big board at some point during this draft. You have nice flexibility to finish out the rest of your roster.
  10. Like the Barnes pick. He plays a nice role on a great team, and I believe he could have an expanded role on many NBA teams. It's hard for him to stand out in Golden State, but a solid, young player nonetheless
  11. Wanted to get a backup center here, since Gortat was my only center on my roster. Asik is a pretty good role player. He is a very solid rebounder and a stout defender. His offensive game is basically lobs, easy layups, and putbacks, but that's okay. Also, he has chemistry with Tyreke and Gordon on my second team. If he can continue his role as a rebounder and defender, I'll be satisfied. P.S. I am not a Pelicans fan, just find myself selecting their players haha
  12. The True Detectives select: Omer Asik, C
  13. Thanks. I liked the MGK pick. He's a great slasher and athlete on the floor. When he goes up for a dunk, the defender might as well get out of the way. He has a lot of upside still, as he is still very young. Already an excellent defender. I like Smoove as a Versatile 4, and I agree that he is good value at this point. MGK can really blossom in these next years - maybe even next year - while Smoove has already reached his peak and accepted his job as a role player.
  14. Sure, if you don't mind
  15. Thanks, I feel like he's good value at this point. He found a nice spot for himself in Houston, and really stepped up in some big games (game 6 against clippers comes to mind). Not sure if he will sign with Houston or go elsewhere though
  16. The True Detectives select: Josh Smith, F
  17. Is CalvinSmoke on the clock still?
  18. Bogut was my top center remaining. Nice grab
  19. Whoops didn't even realize that. My fault. Post deleted
  20. Was considering Faried at my previous pick.
  21. I think he could too, and most likely will. His size/length at point guard to go along with his skill set should translate well in today's NBA.
  22. Paul is definitely one of the best mentors to have at point guard. Russell will be solid pro long-term. He should have a nice rookie season too, even though the Lakers will suck.
  23. Decided to go with Gordon here. While I was debating my pick, Markieff went - who was one of the players I was deciding between. I like the Markieff pick and was strongly considering him - but off the court issues with the assault situation concerns me slightly. Gordon was elite from 3 point territory this season. After missing a stretch of games in January, he played well the rest of the season. He finished 3rd in 3 point percentage at 44.8% (2.3 made on 5.2 shots). I wanted to get a shooter at some point for my bench because Tyreke plays better when he is on the court with shooters. To get an elite one, who happens to be his teammate, is alright by me. He is injury prone which scares me, but when he returned from injury this past year, he adjusted his game (shot more threes), which I hope will help his longevity and durability season-to-season.
  24. The True Detectives select: Eric Gordon, SG
  25. Gotcha. Thanks for the heads up. My pick will be in shortly
