  1. Lets just take names and forget the draft pick numbers. If today you were offered Ramsey for Stanley and Kaufusi (or whatever his name is) would you do it? In a heartbeat or maybe quicker. However, by holding on to that third round pick, that is what we turned down. To me, it is a no-brainer, it was a no-brainer draft night. We could have traded back up and got another left tackle, but we really didn't need one, we had Monroe who people may not like, but he is now healthier than he has ever been so lets get rid of him, like we have many players, to watch him be successful somewhere else. Why is it we do that? Why did we value a third rounder which, like many other third rounders, we get rid of in a couple years, or we could have had Ramsey who would have been that anchor for a decade or more. I just don't understand the love of picks just for the sake of having picks. And the logic of lets get more so maybe we hit on one tells me we aren't really good at doing this or we would have more faith in the guys we select. We drafted Arthur Brown in the second round and moved up to get him but we wont to get Ramsey. This FO has lost its way.

Seriously? So you know that Ramsey is going to be a perennial pro-bowl player and the others don't have a shot? You know that Ramsey will have a long and healthy career or 10 years? Please...
The fact of the matter is that nobody knows what any of these players will do in the NFL. It's all a projections game. If people knew that, do you think we would have been able to land Ogden and Ray in the first round in 1996? No way! They probably would've been the top 2 picks in the draft that year had people known how things would pan out. Give me a break.

  2. I see a lot of chatter about Noah Spence for our 2nd round pick, but lets not forget that there are a few pass rushers ranked higher than he is left on the board. I have no idea what Ozzie's rankings look like, but Emmanuel Ogbah is still up for grabs as well. I really like his tape, and it looks as though he is a bit more versatile than Spence is currently. I'd be excited for either of them, but I'm hearing more and more that Spence is a very 1 dimensional player, and looks more like a pass rushing specialist than outside linebacker.

You haven't seen the dude play. Again, a 6'2" 6'3" 215 pound kid that can run...and oh by the way catch??? That's a good look for the next level.

Look man, people will make a prediction about a player. It is what it is. People might be wrong, but if you've seen the kid play, you know what's coming. You probably haven't seen him play much. It's just like Kevin White. That dude is going to be a stud at some point...whether it's in his first season of play with the Bears or in a couple years. He will be good. It's merely a prediction. It's not ridiculous especially if you've seen his level of play and capabilities.

But hey I will fall back since you think it's the most ridiculous statement to make but at the same time won't offer up a thorough analysis as to who is a better option or even address what makes comparing him to Fitz or Jones ridiculous. At the very least if nothing else, people WILL compare him to those 2 players because of his size. But yeah...I'll stop rubbing you the wrong way now....I Take It Back!!!! He's doesn't bring the same level of impact as Jones or Fitz!!

Watching game film of the receivers in this draft has me very underwhelmed to say the least...especially guys like Treadwell that everyone is penciling in as the best guy and top 10 pick. I just don't see it on the field. He has long strides, but is far from a fast or quick guy. The one thing he has going for him is strength, and in the NFL that tends not to matter as much because you're playing against the best of the best. He will be a solid NFL wideout, but I honestly don't think he'll even be the most productive receiver in this draft. Looking at guys like Tyler Boyd (undersized but extremely explosive) and Josh Doctson, I see them as just as likely to have productive NFL careers as I do Treadwell. Just because he's the best, does NOT mean he's Julio Jones and worth such a high pick. Especially when we could get someone like Ramsey, Hargreaves III or Alexander up there.

  4. I don't know who was at fault for this, but the Torrey Smith TD showed me that either Kendrick Lewis has no idea what he's doing in this defense, or Peas(sp?) made a terrible defensive call. When Torrey caught the long TD, there was no help over the top and K. Lewis was up at the line of scrimmage at the snap. I watched him drop back and hover at linebacker depth playing what looked like zone coverage while Shareece Wright was 1 on 1 with Torrey and got turned around on a double move. That's not the first time I've seen Kenrick Lewis so badly out of position, but I honestly don't know who to blame. If Lewis just doesn't know what he's doing, then I do not hesitate in labeling him the biggest mistake of this offseason. He was supposed to come in and solidify the secondary with a "ballhawking" style of play. If that was Peas' playcall, then I want to find a new D-Coordinator. Kendrick Lewis IS NOT Ed Reed. Reed could be at the line of scrimmage at the snap and somehow intercept a pass 45 yards down the field. That type of player isn't made by scheme...he was special. If Peas expects Lewis to be able to do those things because Reed did it for him, I laugh in his face.
