  1. Unfortunately the league has changed and currently it is more about quick passes and bubble screens than smash mouth/run down your throat football ( I miss that type of football) . Look at our LB's over the past 2-3 years we can't cover TE's and we do not fair well with quick passes. The nfl is moving to smaller quicker LB who can cover and create pressure. As grim eluded to smith-Mosley-Myles would be a pretty nasty 2017 4-3 linebacker starting lineup. 4-3 maybe what we need to change to when Doom and Suggs can't do it anymore ( possibly in 2017 or 2018). I say this as we have to evolve our Defensive mindset to keep up with the evolving play of the nfl or else we will be picking at the top of the draft for a long time to come.
  2. Only mock of the year. Dream draft- I See us using QB needy teams to grab an extra pick and still get our player. Round 1 1-rams-Wentz 2-Browns-Bosa ( it's the browns- I am not big on Bosa) 3-Chargers-Ramsey (he is gonna be a stud) 4-Cowboys-Ezekiel elliliot- JJ gets his RB of the future. 5-Jags-Tunsil ( best player in draft) -------Trade----- 6-Eagles-Goff. ( eagles trade up 2 spots to get their QB goff before 49ners get him). We get their 3rd round 14th pick. We do this as we have equal value on Myles and Buckner. 7- 49ners- Buckner. They are concerned about Myles knee and take DL stud 8-ravens- Myles get 3rd 14 Get our ILB to pair with Mosley. Our LB's this year are scary ( Suggs-Myles-Mosley-dumervil) 2nd 5-Cody whitehair OG/OT Kansas state not an explosive pick but a versatile OL that fits our zone blocking scheme. Plug and play to replace KO 3rd 7-Jaylon smith Falls bc of knee injury and will be out until 2017. Can take this risk as got free 3rd round from eagles from trade as stated above Imagine in 2017-smith, Myles, Mosley 14-Willie Henry DE/DT michigan Late bloomer. Athletic DL who could become stud. Rotational player to start and then full time starter along side tommy and Williams by the end if the season. 4th Cyrus jones cb Bama Homeboy who helps improve CB depth Sheldon day DT ND I am unsure if KLM or Urban will be able to stay healthy. He falls bc of size and no real position. He offers good rotational value and inside pass rush potential. (DL depth is pretty good: Williams-tommy-Henry-Davis-guy-day) match that with our LBs as seen above and we have our intimidating front 7 again. Malcolm Mitchell wr Georgia Would love to get my favorite wr Shepard-Oklahoma but he is long gone by end 2nd. Mitchell offers slot value to replace camp who is unfortunately is made of glass Willie beavers OT western mich Good potential. Work/mature with our OL coaching and he could have potential James bradberry cb samford Big developmental CB. Kevin hogan QB Stanford Back up QB. We do not need to overpay for backup QBs just draft and nurture alone like tyrod
  3. I agree you need a good backup but schaub? He looked lost in preseason against back up players. Arm strength is almost gone as well. Waste of 2 million. Especially when you could have started to develop a rookie as good young backup.
  4. Haha I agree he may be an upgrade at this point
  5. problem with the ravens in free agency the past few years is we paid way to much for our veterans that end up chroncially injured or at best practice team qualtiy players. on the flip side we let go of players who are not injury prone and who play the type of football that defines the ravens. ie bolden here are just a few moves that drive me crazy -Webb's contract is hard to swallow. We have spent way to much on him for poor play. unfortunately, we are stuck with him until dead space number is reasonable in 2017. I WISH we could cut him/how is he the 2nd highest paid player on our team. -why would we pay 2 million for a back up qb Schaub when our qb never gets hurt. He needs to be cut next season-what is the point of having him? -Pitta-love the guy but after 1st hip injury I am not sure what the FO was thinking. huge risk putting that kind of money for an injury most doctors would say has a good chance to occur again -elam (undersized Saftey with tackling problems) not sure how this fits our defensive system at all.
  6. Wow good win. Lots to work on.
  7. Wow. We just let other qbs sit in he pocket and pick apart our defense. What has happened to our tough as nails style of play
  8. We have to beat steelers this week without big ben. This ID a must win or our season is over. We have yet again 2 major problems. 1) our DB are/ scheme for pass defensive is poor. 2-our receivers like always except SS can't get separation. Why is it that every other team can get separation except us? Honestly I see us beating Pitt and Then I see us being 4-4 at the bye week I then see us beating Jacksonville, rams, browns and Miami to be 8-4 We then go 2-2 to finish the season to be 5th seed to play Cincy ( in back to back weeks). End up beating them to play in foxbororo for rematch.
  9. Honestly Suggs is a big loss (leadership and pass rush/setting the edge) and I have reservations about him playing in purple again. I hope he does but time will tell if he hangs it up. However I think all is not lost. Our defense looked good. Defensive backfield was good besides webb getting burned over the top occasionally. Once jerrigan comes back we will have good D-line and our ILB are very good. add Doom and Upshaw and we still have a very good front 7. I think when you give smith some playing time you are looking at 5-6 sacks. I think what we need is a player like old school JJ. what he did for so many years was to set the egde and let others get the glory with sacks and high tackle amounts. I think Upshaw can do this and still provide 5-6 sacks. I think we promote Beyer to active roster to fill the OLB void. Doubt we push the panic button at present time as we still have a good team.
  10. the patriots whole 20K word essay refuting the Wells report is crazy. The patriots must think the american public/nfl are morons. how can any sane person believe that the texts messages are about Mcnally trying to loose weight? how can any logical person say that Mcnally took the balls in the bathroom to only urinate? why would anyone bring 2 bags of footballs into the bathroom and not leave them outside if all they had to do was urinate. Any sane person would leave the balls outside of the bathroom and pick them up when he was done urinating. This bathroom is not where the public can tamper with the balls, so leaving them outside would be safe. The only logical explaination for carrying 2 bags of footballs into a bathroom is to tamper wth the balls
  11. he has no chance to play OLB in 3-4. I still have patience waiting to see if he can mature as an ILB ready to take over beside Mosley in 2016. Hope to see him on special teams at least next year
  12. Ha logical but far fetched. No way the league changes the teams in the Super Bowl. Most likely the league will take away draft pick or picks and belichick will be suspended for a year as well as the Super Bowl.
  13. I hope he proves all of us wrong and works his tail off this offseason and crushes it next year. That would be awesome. He has got a lot of work to do. However to your point above, first round picks should not have to be coached rudimentary fundamentals of the game especially when that pick does not have the size or speed to compensate for their limitations. That is the whole point of a first round pick. either they are an instant plug and play or they possess some inherit physical trait that could make them a beast if they are coached properly. Elam I am sorry to say has neither speed ( he faster than any of us) size or football IQ to make up for his poor fundamentals. That is why he is a bust at present time.
  14. He had big play abilities in college but he is too small and lacks fundamentals to make those big plays in nfl. Sorry he is not that good. I will give him 1 more season before I call him a complete bust, but he has not showed any flashes that indicate that he has learned much over 2 years to say he will change. So I anticipate we stash him on the bench until his contract is up and then we will let him go to FA and watch nobody pick him up.
  15. I know hindsight is agonizing for a fan/ exec but our 2013 1st and 2nd round picks were poor and really not in line with our defense scheme. Have not given up on brown but I am not at all impressed with Matt Elam. Just think, here is what some fans were suggesting in the 2013 draft Trade out of first 2-Keenan Allen wr ( was the closest wr coming out of college similar to bolden who got us the SB) 2-TJ McDonald SS ( big safety to cover big TE who give us tough mismatches) Get extra 3rd
