4) Asa could become a good player, in fact he could be great, he's only 24, has NFL experience and has shown flashes of being extremely good

5) The fact that you are arguing that Brown is not a serviceable #3 shows that you 'know nothing" - your words not mine. I'd much rather have Chykie in the #3 spot with actual NFL experience and being serviceable than some rookie who went undrafted. Every QB will target our #3 just like Flacco targets #3s all the time, every QB will go after the weakest link, its balanced out by the fact that he will be on their #3 WR, he doesnt have to be able to cover Megatron or Gordan or any other #1 or #2, all he has to do is cover another team's 3rd option and he is more than capable of doing that

Ok your taking to another level, If flacco goes down the season is over no if's and but's no back qb is gonna do anything about that. 2) Asa could be come a good player, but i think we just throw him in and jus wait for him to become good, and dont forget he's already had one drug suspension, who knows if he gets another one he could be out for the season.

3) I think Chyie only the has the potential ok #3 at best, it would be better if would have added someone with more talent, but what do i know, its not a passing league or anything....

4) You said he doesn't have to be able to guard Megatron or any #1 what happened last year when Megatron lined up in the slot 2 or three times against Graham, He was wide open, but thankfully he dropped those ones. You can't say he wont have to guard #1 because sometimes they have to when they line up in the slot. When that time comes where he does guard a #1 it could be a touch down.

5) We want Webb in the slot because he plays better there, and if we want him to play slot and he does, Chykie will be seeing the oppositions #1 50% of the time.

Those are the reason why I think we should add more depth to are cbs and stop saying well no 6 rd cbs will help us, remember this draft is one of the deepest we seen so sum of the cbs we past on would have gone 3rd or 4th in other draft. Have you been watching the draft they have been talking about how deep the draft was almost everyday.

how many 6th round CBs come into the league ready to play, better yet how many 1st rounders come in ready to play?....the answer is almost none, even our own Jimmy Smith needed a few years, Chykie and Asa at least have NFL experience, theres a massive difference between coverage in college and coverage in the pros. Roberson can't play man coverage to save his life, youre dreaming if you think he is one of the best cover corners in the draft. Obviously you don't know much, saying that Chykie can't play, he may be inconsistent but he has shown that he can hang with pro receivers. I'd be more impressed if you found someone on this forum that didnt see every game last year and the year before and so on.

I just said he dosent have to start he could develop into something,can u read. I dont wanna trust Chykie brown for the whole year at #3 Cb. Chykie is alright at best he's not a starter, We need someone who can become a good player not be a decent player the whole time, Lardarius or web could go down at anytime then who will be are #2 Chykie, they will target him everyplay like last year. you say i know nothing, but your the one tryna argue that Chykie is a good #3 cb he's not.

We can't bet that Joe won't miss a game. that's one of the reason we missed the playoffs last year. If we had a decent back up, maybe we beat the Bengals. We have options for nickel cb and like I said, it's really bad if we have to trust a rookie 6th rounder to be starting Nickel.

No backup qb would help us beat the Bengals with that o line, those receivers, no pass rush, pitta coming off season ending injury and beat up ray rice. Even if we beat the bengals we that back qb, we would not have won a playoff game  

We have Chykie and Asa. Both would be better #3's than a rookie 6th round pick. Weinning could at least give us some assurance if Joe goes down.

ha dont make laugh Chykie could barely cover, with limited snaps still gets caught on all the time. and i like asa but still needs time to develop, have u watched any tape on these collage cbs, sych as Roberson Reynolds, they all have WAy better coverage skills than Chykie and Asa. Watch sum tape first before u make these assumptions 

We really don't need either, but after Tyrod's play against NE, we need to try to find someone else to backup Joe.

I agree. No harm in bringing him in now. I doubt Harbs does it. He doesn't like guys like Colt.

I agree, honestly. I like Wenning, but I would have rather had a CB who will likely make an impact on the team. There are many instances of late-round CBs panning out compared to late-round QBs.

that's exactly what a mean we potentially passed on a impact cb to get a back qb . Theres has been tons of late rds cbs that have proven to been solid players. im not hating on ozzie im jus giving my opinion   

The fact that the rest of the league pasted seven+ times on Reynolds, Purifoy, and Roberson says something. i think Weinning is a solid backup unlike Taylor. We signed an interesting prospect in Sammy Seamster that could work out for us and I thik we sign/trade for another guy if we don't trust Chykie/Jackson.

That dosent mean anything, didn't Richard Sherman get passed on, Brent Grimmes went drafted. Those good Cbs that got passed on and look what they turned out to be.

please refrain from calling any player a "bum" before ever seeing them play in the NFL, you know the cliche'd 6th round QB, just because he was taken late doesnt mean he's a bum, and just because a CB was drafted doesnt mean they'll be good, we have 2 fantastic CBs, Brown has starting experience and Asa has had flashes

He's a bum compared to the Cbs we could have gotten. If we wanted a good backup Qb we could of got Boyd, the kid that throw to Sammy Watkins, now he's a winner. All im saying is i don't like that we took a qb when there was more other talented skilled players at other positions including Cbs where there are real ones at the position. If Joe goes down u think where going to the playoffs with the qb we drafted......... No sir

iunno why u guys are hating on the post when im speaking the truth, your saying you guys wouldn't want, Exum, Roberson, Purifoy,Reynolds or Michele over the qb we drafted, Come now, any of those cbs could have put up a good fight for the third cb spot. Passing on those players was a mistake. The qb we draft won't help are team at all. We had one more cbs than we qbs on the team and usually the third cb is on the field with ONE backup cb, COME ON NOW Get Real

also both smith can play as  olb in coverage so i can only imagine the coverage lbers cand provide us now.

we did not need him since elam is a SS.

 

niners picked him to replace withner who played SS.

they have Reid who they drafted last year who plays FS.

Ward is not SS, he can play it but he will be a better FS then he is SS.  The kid had 7 ints,  He can play SS, but it will be how like matt elam played out of is position, he just won't be as good if he's not playing his natural position 

The amount of negativity in this thread is ridiculous.

 

Mosley is a beast, not to mention he is a natural born leader and incredibly smart.  Give him a few years and he'll be the leader of our defense.

We need a impact player now, terrrel, Ngtata and Webb aren't getting any younger  

Ozzie and Decosta had Cj Mosely quite high on their big board...most likely at number 1 and obviously higher than ClintonDix. BPA is BPA and Ozzie should have that mantra tattooed on his chest by now. 

 

If this pick was last year everyone in the state of Maryland would be doing backflips and jumping for joy. We left last years draft with a so-so project MLB in Arthur Brown in what was a weak ILB draft class. The fact that we could come in here and finally solidify that position for the future is definitely not a bad way to go. Really the only knocks on Mosely are injury concerns and athleticism questions, he is a very talented MLB who we will most likely get some good use out of this year.

Hopefully we get brooks in the second or elam will be playing FS again. I just don't understand why we did get a S in the first, Pryor and Elam we have been amazing, i would of been fine with haha. I don't hate the pick I jus don't think we really need a linebacker this early,  unless he turns out to be a Luke kuechly or a Bowman. But i'm hoping he can play like he's nfl comparison Lavonte David, now that would be nice 

Honestly IMO we should keep Suggs. He's pretty much the biggest leader on team right now. The guy averaged a sack per game in the first half of the season, i kno after that his game started to decline but as some mentioned on one of these forums before teams are still game planning against him, between him and Dumervil, Suggs got most of the chips and double teams. We only have couple of true ravens left. I think if Suggs stayed in shape this whole season and played 70 percent of the snaps instead of 45 50 % He would of had 15 sacs intead of ten. If we let him go that will just open up another hole in are team, when this offseason when we should be looking for offensive players. If we did let him go and we do not acquire starter, who will start in Suggs place Upshaw, I really like the kid but  i had high expectation for the guy coming out college, he was a animal at bama but just isnt the same. He has Like 3 sacs in two years, in run game he gets abused sum times and barley gets off blocks he's average player ri now. Pernel is ok too has more sacs then upshaw, but he is really inconstant. Would sum of  you actually want those guys starting for us,no disrespect to Upshaw and Pernel but they aint ready doe
