  1. I don't think any TE outside of Gronk will be successful in an offense without a deep play maker. Until Perriman is healthy safeties will be closer to the line to take away the tightend routes and to stop the run. I also doubt anyone other than Gronk could have made that catch at the end since it was under thrown.

I don't even know if Gronk catches that ball. It was under thrown, but it was also defended well.

  2. perriman ..1-2 days..really?

sure he hasn't just torn an MCL or something?

for such a freak athlete he seems to be a poor healer. So everytime he gets a sprain instead of 2-3 games its going to be 8-10?

he needs to get his blessed butt on to the training field and start playing.

He's not a poor healer. The injury is/was more severe than what Harbaugh and co. are saying.

  3. It was around 7or 8 yards from what I saw. But what mattered less than how far out was that in continued while the pass was being attempted, and then Steve didn't do a damn thing.

I'm not sure what Smith could have done. Talib jumped in front of him and basically ran the route. He said after the game that he knew that play was coming.

  4. Go back and actually watch it please. I won't keep talking with you until you watch it and see that you're incorrect on this.

Yes every qb makes mistakes. Joes made plenty in his career. But this wasn't one of them. This was just bad luck.

Again I've watched numerous times. That ball is going to Smith and no one else.

    - Brown is running a deep route on the left side to clear out  for Gilmore.

    - Gilmore is running an out pattern. Joe is in a throwing motion before Gilmore even makes his cut.

That leaves Aiken and Smith as the only possible options.

    - Aiken is a total of 3 yards away from the LOS as Joe locks on to Smith. So it's pretty clear that the ball isn't going to him.

That's what make it pretty obvious that Joe pre-determined where he was going with the ball.

Now the pass protection wasn't great, but there's still no excuse for that pass. It was easily his worst decision of the day.

  5. i love how on both Interceptions their was blatant pass interference .. Talib just pushed the wr off the route completely , i forget who it was , and then on the crockett play the defender is allowed to just run into him without even acknowledging the ball? Of course Denver Gets their home cooking tho .. still proud of the defense its the least amount of yds i think they ever held peyton to , and what a stud jimmy is seriously , could be top 5 corner

Talib is allowed to make contact within 5 yards. He didn't grab or hold Smith. That was a perfectly legal play.

On the 2nd one remember that face guarding is not called in the NFL. I'm sure there was some contact, but they're not going to call anything in that situation. That was just an unfortunate play where Denver had guys in the right position.

  6. You are wrong on every single point. Congratulations. Go back and watch the clip, Joe was not scaring Smith down the entire time, you have no idea if he predetermined to go there before the snap, and Smith absolutely gave up on the play. These points have almost unanimously been agreed upon by other posters. What we are debating upon is whether or not it was a boneheaded, bad, good, or neutral decision to throw the pass he did in that situation

No one agrees with you, but I'm wrong. Yeah OK. Dude you're delusional. I've watched the play numerous times. That ball was going to Smith and no one else. The ball was snapped and Joe immediately looks to his right.

It was an awful play by Joe. It's that simple. Every QB's makes boneheaded plays/decisions. Stop making excuses for him

  7. It should have been an incompletion at worst. Smith gave up on the play, albeit because he was being mugged by talib. Maybe it wasn't the best decision Joe made all day, but saying the int was a boneheaded thrown or all his fault is stupid.

Saying it wasn't a boneheaded play, or it wasn't all his fault is stupid.

Honestly how can you watch that play and not put all the blame on Flacco? He pre-determined where he was going with the ball before the snap. He starred down Smith the entire time. Talib even said that after the game.

It's absolutely ridiculous to even suggest that Smith gave up on that play.

  8. Except he didn't just run with smith, he held him the whole way and even as the pass was leaving Joes hand. While Joe was staring him down, for the like two seconds before he threw it, it should have been an incompletion at worst. The interception was not really joes fault as much as Smiths fault and talib getting away with holding

It wasn't really Joe's fault? What game were you watching?

That pick 6 was all on Joe. SSR was never open.

Some people will make up any excuse for Flacco. It's just sad at this point.

  9. Good: Defense. Tons of young talent on that side of the ball. I think Mosley, Jimmy, and Williams have a chance to be the best at their positions in the near future.

Bad: Joe Flacco. The pick 6 was awful. I have no idea what he was looking at there. He missed a lot of easy throws yesterday. He also needs to do a better job of pre-snap reads. Too many times there were obvious blitzes that Joe ignored. Even with his awful day we still had a chance to win it at the end.

Ugly: O-line. They couldn't block their own shadows yesterday.

I'm also going to throw the offensive coaching staff into the ugly category. They need to adjust to situations in the game. An example is Hurst. He was getting killed the entire game. Why wasn't he getting help? Send a TE over to at least slow down Ware. It was inexcusable.
