yeah and he's probably smart enough to take a look at the Ravens pass rushers... not a lot of young guys so he should stick 1 year on the PS and make the 53 this season if there are injuries or work his way up

well if hes good enough to be on another team 53 so be it right now he's not in the best 53 for the Ravens

As much as John Harbaugh would like to run the ball better, this is not Trestman blue print. He's a passing oriented guy. He coached in MTL for a few years where I was living at the time and he's a very good pass game coordinator but he's no OC in my mind. He could be a great OC for some teams who focus on the passing game but this is not the AFC North.
I've been saying this a few times when the Ravens hired him, he's a VERY VERY VERY bright man. Hard worker a bit like a mad scientist but he's pass first type of guy. I said it at the time, the Ravens should try to bring him to be the Passing Game coach and try to bring Kyle Shanahan to be the OC/Run game. Anyway maybe the run game will be better with better O-Line on the field right now its pretty ugly
I lost the game so did Reynolds play ? if yes how was he
Just now, BmoreBird22 said:I'm not suggesting he will be the backup quarterback, but he's showing moxie, poise, and delivering the ball very quickly.
I think that's the biggest thing to me- he's letting the ball go quickly and decisively.
yeah but I see a lot of inconsistency. Throwing the ball off and the WRs balling him out. He's been under pressure on 1 plays : incomplete. This is vanilla defense where the Cover 1-Cover 2- Cover 4 and Cover 4 are easy to find out. Coaches wanna test their players in 1 on 1 and in some easy schemes to see them making plays or fail. I doubt J. Johnson would be as effective as Mallet playing a NFL caliber defense with pass rushers in his gut all game
Gotta be honest I never was a Butler fan in his first few years. But man that kid showed a LOT of improvements. Consistency, better catch radius, better use of his hands. Engram doing some fine work. Will be hard to cut if he gets cut he will be a new team Aiken

A poor man Tyrod Taylor

I was thinking the same... he didnt not stand out yet but maybe he does all the good little thing and since A. McClellan is going to play more defense they maybe want someone to replace him on STs. Similar build
Will Davis, who I saw as an outside CB playing some inside..... which means Arrington and maybe Powers are getting cut. Probably Arrington but Powers hasnt played good in preseason...

Should have traded up with a 4th rounder to pick Mackensie Alexander... gonna be a stud.
First of all, you can't pick up players based only on 1 preseason games. If you wanted to do so, why did you pick Wright at CB and not Price who was better ? Carl Davis played poorly imo. While I really liked Pierce at DT, we need to see more of him and he'll be playing NT so behing Williams. They might wanna take a deeper look at him with Williams contract up in the air. Wesley, I'm not so sure he's ahead of Ducasse even if the FO like him. I don't think they will cut Buck Allen, they might use him more in a Shane Vereen role. I don't see Hurst making the team and I don't think they are ready to cut Camp at WR yet. I don't see Gilmore not making the team as well he showed promises as a 2nd year TE.... he got injured a lot of they'll keep him in case Pitta or Watson aren't durable or effective.

so 3 stringer was right
UDFA M. Pierce 78 making plays again... hes been good tonight. Might want to take a deeper look at him...
Just now, Jacquouille said:Saw him put pressure on a QB a couple of drives ago. Plus he was with Henry when he made the TFL.
Again, didn't see the first quarter, so I missed the best part I guess
Yeah he had some snaps at pass rushers. Didnt play LB yet
Just now, allblackraven said:Ah, maybe - I pay $199 though.
You're kinda lucky, 329$ in Canada or 4 payments of 100$ lol. Nice deal
By the way I know this is not related but I watched some Carson Wentz replays and I still don't believe the Browns didnt take him. My god he's going to be a GREAT one. A lot better than Goff IMO
I wished Correa would have been playing more. He looks further than we thought on the depth chart. #50 is a good edge setter against the run but against the pass he provided no pass rush at all. Will play the Upshaw role. Orr has been a pleasant surprise. Now bring KC and Young please. Arrington is a sure cut for me. S. Price did some nice plays.... Wright is better against bigger/slower WR and have some problems vs speedy wide out and fast paced quick passing game offense. Against the Pats I'm pretty sure Wright will have some problems
2 minutes ago, Jacquouille said:Guys I came late, heard Ronnie's done for the night, how was he?
Very surprising. A Lot better than expected for me. Stonewall pass blocker as usual but very active run blocker he improved a lot or maybe it was just not interested in college
1 minute ago, ludy51 said:Who was those 2 lineman.
Ducasse and who else?
Jensen playing great
Reynolds washt going to catch that anyway.... with his feet come on
Stanley done for the night
Michael Pierce making plays...
Stanley : Better run blocker than in College.
Urschel, great technique

Gotta admit most writers on BR.com are pretty accurate when they are praising a player. They might praise a player that made a play but if they praise a player all preseason long, that means that guy stood out. They are a bit biased yes and tend to overreact but everyone does. But when I read multiple times that ZDS is playing a lot better and in GREAT shape, we kinda saw it during the first preseason game.
Now he needs to adjust and perform like that on a consistent basis in a game environment against new players and not the same 3-4 player each day. The thing about young player is consistency. I remember they were praising B. Williams in his first few years. He flashed at times like a dominant players but had technique problems or mental error on some other plays.
I remember Powers was one of the best player during OTAs.... but since the TC started, he's not playing so well and they were honest with it saying he's a deception during TC. But the thing I wanna say is if a guy is doing great stuff day in day out in practice, he might take some time to do it in a game vs differents opponents but that doesn't mean he those reporters are liars or overreacting. Thats why you have 4 preseason games, OTAs, TC, minicamp and everything. You can't judge a player so quickly. It takes times and even if you say Elam only made 1 tackle yesterday, I saw coach Harbaugh and one of BR reporter saying he's been making plays ALL camp long and that was the same last year. You have a lot more reps in a training camp practice than in a preseason game when you play vanilla defence with different teammates and only play 15-25 snaps.
