T. Young best rookie so far this season... They value STs way to much and still play bah fundamentals STs. Let the rookies play on STs and develop instead of vet Special teams only players with low upside. I wanna see Correa, Judon, Moore. McClellan is good against the run but bad against the pass. Levine we don't use him that much as in TC but he's still valuable. Kedrick Lewis has been bad on defense and STs. Carter can be inactive for Correa.
As soon as they make 1 mistake they're benched. Its all about confidence with you take the next step. Live with their mistakes and teach them.
Almost the entire 2016 draft class is inactive today lol
How bout the good ol' Bears 4-6 ? yeah we don't live in that world anymore where teams would come up with 1-2 TEs, 1RB, 1 RB and run the ball. Nowadays they spread the field and run "hot" throwns/patterns in soft zone spot against a 4-4 blitzing team. Bubble, quick WR screens, quick outs the LBs would be too slow to cover the outside h-mark and you just push the CB deeper with a deep routes. If they play cover 2 ? playaction pass in the seem, hook zone.
I'm no offensive mastermind I'm more of a defense type but base defense are Nickle nowadays. Great teams have a pass rush with 4 front players only. Sometimes send a LB or DB blitz but gotta be able to make the QB hesitate by taking his quick passes quickly and bait him
The new kick off rule is kinda stupid imo. Kickers will kick HIGH kicks because they don't want to give up the ball at the 25. If you want to eliminate kick off, let the receiving team chose if they want to start automatically at the 25 or try to return the kick off for a bigger gain if they have a strong unit. That way we'll probably see some less kicks returns. Some players designed as Special Teams players might lose their job in favor for some more upside/raw project.
Nowadays teams will cut some young talented players to make room for special teams players and thats alright with me. Special teams are almost a 1/3 of the game and it's really important and explosive. But if the NFL want to slowly eliminate kick offs, the new rule isn't working so well in my opinion.
I really liked Sheldon Price at times during TC. He was shadowing WRs for the most part. On some plays he would just not focus or get lost or something but he's a big body CB how seems to be more "agile" than Wright. I know he's injured but he should get a chance pretty soon. The Ravens also said they wanna test Powers at outside CB so we'll see today if Wright is bad early on he might lose his job. Maybe they are interested to the former Panther who got torched for 300 yards against Julio lol he's still decent they let him down a lot
I just can't believe he got beat on the fake out move by crabtree. I mean just don't get beat deep
Against the Raiders it gotta be Flacco. Toss 3 TDs my man.
Pitta
Aiken (yes lol)
Moore
and West close to 100 yards

He doesn't have the elusiveness that he used to have. He doesn't get Yards after contact like West does. I think West should be the starter and given the majority of the carries, I just don't know if he's a workhorse. I just see Forsett as relief but we're getting Dixon back so this is a situation to only worry about today.
and lets be honest, on most if not all his big yards runs in 2014, it wasnt a personnal effort, he was untouched and went for 20-40 yards. I don't remember how many 20 yards runs he got in 2014 but that was the most of the league and he went untouched behing Yanda, Wagner in that zone concept. He had great vision yes but he wasnt making people miss or breaking tackles
They might even try to trade Zuttah lol.
Gotta give it to Pees... he's been VERY good this season. He comes up with some exotic 3rd down packages this season. The inside pass rush is very good so it helps the defense a lot. He doens't have to send LBs or DBs on blitzes every time and when he does it works well.
and coach Frazer is doing a tremendous job as well. The DBs are playing a lot better this season.
This is not Stanley or Ramsey... the question is :
Ramsey vs Stanley + Kaufusi or Young because the Cowboys wanted 3rd to move and the Ravens only wanted to give up a 4th
I'm very pleased with Stanley so far

yeah well as long as hes not getting beat deep.. that would be a plus lol
how bout Weddle tho ... man where are opposite TEs now ? He's shutting them down, coming hard to support the run I really like him
1 hour ago, GrimCoconut said:How about Tavon Young who played a great game, made tackles, and played well in coverage and run support. He also played well on ST
What I really liked about him today : sure tackler. He made at least 2 or 3 tackles short of the first down and it was 1 on 1 against the receiver. If he misses the tackle the Browns get the first down. Nice closing speed hes fierce I really like him and always liked him
Man this one hurts. He was one of the most influenceable coach on the Ravens organization for quite some time. The Ravens have the best run defense since he got here. He was a father figure for a lot of these young men coming out of college and sometimes some of them grew up with no father at all. He was a great coach but looks like he was even a greater person. My thoughts are with his family. I believe the defense will come out on FIRE for this one.
This sucks that means we gotta enjoy every moments of our life this can happen to anybody he was only 60ish yo.

This is kinda a good news for the Ravens and Camp. He could come back or try to go somewhere else but Harbs would like him back if there are some injuries or Hester signing doenst work out well. Its a win win situation
3 hours ago, kjbmore said:yeah im looking at buffalo pointing up 31 against the jets and thinking our defense must be doing something right
Does that mean how offense isn't so good
1 hour ago, TurkishRaven said:Cravens looking good. We could have picked him too.. 2nd round pick should at least play imo.
Looking good? He look lost tonight against the Steelers... I really really wanted Cravens I wished the Ravens would draft a LB/S to play the role that Levine plays. But lets be honest, Levine is better right now. Cravens doenst know the calls... they tell him where to line up
Leslie Frazer helping A LOT those DBs. and Weedle man... that guy is the QB of the defense. Everyone is ready on every play knowing what to do. No miscommunications

Is it written like this ? I hope it wasnt expensive
I will be honest, I watch lots of films before the draft and I didn't know Pierce. As soon he got on the field in the first preseason game I noticed him and I'm prety sure I talked about him in the First preseason game thread. He's been a monster in preseason and I'm glad he made the team. The Ravens have one of the best if not the best defensive line coach of the league and I'm sure he'll be able to work him to be our next UDFA gem.
About Powers... Harbaugh said yesterday he has an ankle sprain that will sideline him for a little time. But he'll be back and have a major role on defense so no he's not cut. Maybe he just changed his number
Isn't there a rule when you sign a player after Week 1 his money isn't guaranteed ? or something like that. They could try to cut/resign him and keep their options open for the season in case they need to cut him again. He's old enough he doenst have to go through waivers ? Man its hard to keep up with all these rules
Apparently Ochi failed his physical with the Jets.. something came up with his shoulder IIRC so once he's healthy they'll sign him

He needs to go all in and step up to become our starter this season. Not wasting 3rd year hoping he has 'some potential'. Done with 4th year 'prove it then get paid' players from here on.
Actually I believe it was Ryan Mink who said in a video during the offseason it was noticable how Maxx was often at the facility training hard and losing some baby weight. Last year he didn't look like an NFL player but he trained hard this offseason.
Maybe I'm wrong tho

I'm from Canada near the city where Trestman coached in the CFL for a few seasons. He's a good strategical coach but he's no NFL OC. Larger field in the CFL and only 3 downs so passing is vital. In the NFL you gotta use the run MORE.
I've been saying this for 2 years, I liked Trestman but only has an assistant coach : passing game coordinator/qb coach. I really wanted Kyle Shanahan to be the OC and Run Game coordinator and a great playcaller unlike Trestman who relies too often on old school passing concepts. Sure you can't reinvente football but you gotta help the receivers with some schemes just like the Gilmore TD who I though was a great designed play. But at the end of the day, when the run is so effiecient and you stop using it, when you have an history of throwing 70% and running 30%, thats not the type of OC I want in the AFC North Ravens football.
