  1. I live in Montreal so I saw Trestman a few seasons in the CFL.... let me say this he's a lot better position coach than OC.

His playcalling is suspect. He can go 15 passes in a row and try a playaction right after. I mean how can they beat on the run if you havent used it once ...

He's more a spread, singleback guy. Not really what the Ravens are looking for. But if Dennison and Kubiak leaves... he would make a great great QB/butt OC coach. Not so sure about OC in the AFC North tho. AFC North is about pound the ball, possession game tough bluecollar offense. Maybe thats why the Steelers didnt win against us (no running, not playing tough offense)

  2. Lately I really liked his zone coverage underneath covering the curl. Seems like the only underneath completed passes were on Mosley. Elam did a pretty good job covering it then secure the check downs and not give the 1st down on a few occasions.

I don't think Elam's got the speed, vision, footwork, height to play single high or two deep but he's been pretty good underneath.

Hill, Stewart and Miles did a pretty good job in 2 high until the big completion to A. Brown. which was against Tampa 2 betweek Daryl Smith and Miles or Stewart.... D.Smith can't make that play so the safety had to react faster imo.

If the Ravens continue to use Elam that way he could be a good asset. He's more of a close to the line, zone nickleback.

He needs to work on his man to man skills but I would use him blitzing, stuff the run and zone underneath right now to be honest.

  3. To be fair with Matt, he had a bad year because of the poor CB depth of the team. He had to play Nickleback/Slot CB much of the year which isnt his strength.

When he was playing roover SS close to the line of scrimmage he was pretty good. Great instincts but needs to work on his tackling thats for sure.

Next year, if the Ravens add a CB or 2, they get Jimmy back so..

    CBs :

    1- Jimmy

    2- FA/Draft

    3- Webb (slot)

No more man to man against quick slot WRs for Elam. I think he would play a lot better in zone and in run support situations.

  4. On one drive he had 2-3 tackles and a pass deflected almost intercepted. He ended the Jags as soon as he came onto the field.

Agressive play attacking the ball we havent seen that a lot.

Unlike Levine who was sitting 17 yards out against SD and got beat my 7 yards hook/out for 80 yards on the last drive

  5. I like both picks to be honest. Simple BPA and high rated players.

Safeties available don't impress me at all. I like Brock Vereen maybe 3rd or 4th pick. Get West with comp pick.

Wagner/Jensen and cuts happens all the time will be easy to get OT. still a few good OL available. I like Moses, Richardson could develop ok but not a Ravens pick.
